Chapter 29: Ending the Mysterious Missing Herbs

Chapter 29: Ending the Mysterious Missing Herbs

Knoy from the Ministry of Magic felt that this was definitely the unluckiest day of his life.

For example, he first encountered the rude guy who broke off his puppet's head, and then the other guy who asked about the blood crystal stone.

And now there is a wolf chasing him.

“Awooooo ...

Stop it, bug! I've got you surrounded!

Tina yelled at him.

Knoy didn't understand, so he took out the hallucinogenic bottle from his pocket and threw it all behind him.

These hallucinogenic drugs will cause temporary hallucinations in the brain of the person who inhales them. The illusions seen are different, and the effect of a bottle of drugs will last for at least 12 hours unless the corresponding potion is taken.

The werewolf's sense of smell is very sensitive, and Tina couldn't dodge it.

After taking a sip of the hallucinogen, she immediately let out a loud howl.

Knoy leaned against the corner and gasped for breath. He really couldn't run anymore. The werewolf was too fast. She was able to catch up with him even though she was not familiar with the road conditions. He wanted to teach her a lesson.

A cruel look flashed in his eyes, and he took out a blood bottle from his pocket, just as he wanted to pour the blood in the bottle on her body...

As Knoy pulled the cork out of the bottle and slipped out from behind the wall, a furry paw slapped him directly in the face.

He panicked and fell backward, and the cursed blood in the blood bottle splashed all over himself.

Tina quickly jumped back.

Ugh, ugh, ugh, what a disgusting smell!

Knoi wailed and tore his clothes with his hands. The cursed blood burned his clothes like corrosive sulfuric acid and seeped into his body.

He scratched with his hands, trying desperately to shake off the blood, but the blood seemed to have life, burning through his skin and drilling directly into his abdominal cavity. The skin on his hands that touched the blood immediately fell off and even the bones melted.

This situation was beyond the ability of a werewolf to handle, so she quickly ran back to seek professional help.

Sewell shook a dozen gems in Darien's ears, and the pleasant sound of them colliding finally woke the wizard who was about to fall asleep.

"The sound of money is still more beautiful." Darien helped Sevier stand up by the arm.

"We should go meet up with Miss Tina," said Seville.

Before they could go out to look for it, a huge white wolf squeezed in from the back door and howled at them.

"Ms. Tina, we don't understand." Sewell reminded.

"Oh, I forgot!" Tina quickly got up from the ground and transformed into a werewolf.

"Did he get away?" Darien said.

"No, that idiot spilled something on himself and his body melted as if it had touched sulfuric acid. You have to go and take a look. If you go too late, there will only be a pool of blood on the ground." Tina spoke quickly and pulled them out.

"You smell like hallucinogens. Are you feeling okay?" Darien asked as he ran.

"Oh, this little bit of hallucinogen has no effect on me at all. This is what happens when you drink too much wolfsbane wine... He is right here, don't touch him." Tina braked suddenly.

Knoy was still struggling. A large hole had been corroded in his chest. His rolling movements became slower and slower, and fragments of his internal organs fell out with him.

"I don't know what this is. I can't save it," Darien said after taking a look.

"I think we can throw a frost bottle at him to freeze him temporarily. Although there is no way to prevent his death, at least a body can be left for people to identify," said Sewell.

"Just chop off his head and save the frost bottle," said Darien.

"Hey, hey, hey! Isn't this a bit imprudent? We haven't found any evidence that he is the murderer yet. If we just chop off his head, it will be considered a crime! It shouldn't count if we wait until he dies before chopping it off, right?" Tina said quickly.

They actually don't care much about the life and death of people on the ground, as long as they can leave a face behind.

"Save me! Save me!" Knoy kept coughing up blood clots from his mouth. He struggled to continue speaking. "I'm not the mastermind! Save me! I'll tell you everything! I'll tell you everything!"

"Didn't you prepare the antidote yourself? Or did you develop this thing without any thought of leaving any room for maneuver?" Seeing that he was not going to die for a while, Darien asked slowly.

"Cough cough cough... It's cursed blood... Please save me..." Knoi's voice became weaker and weaker.

Darien took out an empty bottle and muttered a spell.

A pool of blood, which was so dark red that it turned black, slowly crawled out of Knoy's abdominal cavity like a snake and was led into the empty bottle in his hand.

"That was our free service just now, but it's over now. Does your wound hurt now? We can provide you with paid services to stop bleeding and temporarily suture the wound. It only costs 2,000 gold coins per time, or all the gems in your store. What do you think?" Sewell smiled and pulled out a piece of parchment.

"I...you have to save me..." Knoi endured the tremendous pain, and his eyes went dark again and again.

"After you die, it will be the same when your soul is tortured. I heard that the Ministry of Magic will execute the criminal souls after torture and sell them to the devil? It seems that the Ministry of Magic is quite devilish." Darien said.

"This is a rumor... I'll sign... save me..." Knoy trembled and spat out a mouthful of blood.

Xavier held the parchment beneath his fingers.

Knoi trembled and pressed his only intact little finger, which was stained with blood.

"Thank you for your generosity. Well done, Sevier." Darien pulled a potion bottle from his pocket.

The light green liquid exuded the scent of grass. The bottle was turned upside down and poured directly into the chest cavity.

"What is this? Ahhhhhhhhh——" Knoy began to twitch violently.

The green liquid quickly formed a film, wrapping around his internal organs and blocking the bleeding wounds, like a layer of new skin, temporarily stopping the loss of his life.

"What is this? It looks like it's very useful." Tina looked at it curiously.

"This is a repair potion used to temporarily fill parts of the body. It can last for a whole day until you receive treatment. It has the effect of stopping bleeding and relieving pain." Darien replied.

"It sounds like it's very useful. How much is the price? Sell me two bottles." Tina was very tempted.

"I'll just give it to you. You treated us to two meals." said Darien.

"You are blackmailing me... This is extortion..." Knoy, lying on the ground, rolled his eyes and fainted.

"Oh, how can I do that? I won't be polite then!" Tina took the repair potion.

"What should we do with him?" Sewell glanced at the unconscious man.

"Move out and notify the patrol and the sheriff. They can't enter the underground market." Darien said.

Of course, they did not forget the contents of the contract before they left and looted the entire jewelry store.

As they left the underground bazaar, the listless voice of the brass-faced man suddenly screamed, "What are you doing here? He's injured! I have to notify the administrator!"

Darien punched the man in the face. "You'd better ask the manager for me why he allowed the people who made blood crystals to enter the black market."

The brass man's nose was twisted, and then his entire face melted and flowed down like butter: "Ahhhh, it's you again! What blood crystal?! This is impossible! Don't pinch me, I was wrong, I will report this to the administrator immediately!"

"It was found in his shop," Sewell said.

He put a bag of blood crystals found in the gem shop into the neck of the brass face.

They did not stay to wait for the manager notified by the brass-faced man to come, but went directly to the ground.

"It's inconvenient for us to show up, so I'll leave this guy to you. Please don't disclose our information. We have cleared away all the magical items on him. I've put him under a two-hour magical restriction, which is enough time for the patrol team and the church people to arrive." Darien said.

"Oh, I understand. You are leaving again, right? When can I see you again?" Tina felt a little sad about the separation.

"If you need to buy potions or other magical supplies, you can come to my shop, not the one in the underground market. Whenever you want, you can open any door and see us. I also have two chefs who cook delicious food." Darien not only answered the question, but also gave a small hint.

He wanted to treat Tina to a meal.

"That's great. I'll be there when this is over. Bye." Tina waved at them.

Darien and Sevier paid the carriage fee generously. After all, they had just received some income and could afford more money.

When we returned to Lady Mary's mansion, Lady Mary had not come back yet, but Kenneth was there.

But I guess it won’t be too long.

"What are you wearing? Is this kind of outfit popular recently?" Darien looked Kenneth up and down.

The boy stood up all the lace on his collar and wrapped a piece of cloth around his head.

Like a big-headed lizard with its collar raised in anger.

"Aunt Mary won't let him go out on adventures, so he's trying to run away, but this getaway outfit makes him look even more conspicuous," said Jenny Piggy, shrugged.

"Hey, hey! There's nothing wrong with the way I'm dressed!" Kenneth protested loudly.

"You can't even get out the door in this state unless you climb the wall." Darien shrugged.

"Mr. Kenneth will be poked down by the guards. This is dangerous behavior," said Sewell.

"That's enough, I hate you!" Kenneth took off the cloth on his head depressedly. His escape plan failed before it was even carried out.

"We have to go back. We have caught the person who made the blood crystal stone. It's time to end this matter. Please give our most sincere greetings to Lady Mary. We will meet again next time." Darien said.

"It's good that it happened so quickly. Those guys are finally going to be caught. Goodbye then! When we meet next time, I will definitely have become an excellent thief." Kenneth said.

Darien waved his hand perfunctorily and opened a door next to him.

Sewell followed closely behind and walked into the door together.

Finally home.

The first thing Mr. Master did was to lean back in his rocking chair, doing nothing but rocking to clear his mind.

Seville consciously did not disturb his alone time, and quietly left to tidy up the corners of the tower that had not been visited in the past few days.

Darien's moment of solitude didn't last long, as it was soon interrupted by Pluto.

The sneaky magic book sat on the door handle, squeezed the door open a crack, and then sneaked in.

Darien heard the banging on the door as soon as it started.

The sound is very loud.

Only the magic book thought it was well hidden, hiding under the tablecloth, slipping past the candlestick, and finally climbing up the rocking chair.

Darien tapped his fingers on the armrest, pausing after each tap until Pluto climbed up and spread its ears of corn unsteadily across his lap.

"It seems heavy." Darien picked up the magic book and weighed it.

Pluto continued to shake the ears of corn happily.

"Did you drink the ink and eat my parchment again?" Darion asked.

Pluto stiffened for a moment, and the amplitude of the ears of corn that he was happily swinging became much smaller.

This reaction should be stealing food.

"And you smell delicious, like stewed meat, beef stewed in red wine, chicken stewed with herbs..." Darien pinched the magic book, leaned in and smelled it carefully.

Brutal trembled, trying to shake himself out of Darien's grasp.

But it couldn't escape, and Darien began to flip through the pages.

Sure enough, if you flip forward through the slightly yellowed pages, you'll find long passages of food appreciation, which describe the delicious stew from various angles, with a large pool of oil as evidence.

"You've been eating pretty well these days," Darien commented.

Pluto flipped the pages of the book vigorously, covering up the pages of food appreciation.

"First, I have no objection to you eating human food occasionally. Second, you are not allowed to sweep up my ink and parchment anymore. Third, I think you need punishment. Now take the duster and dust all the rooms in the tower, or I will use you to light the fireplace." Darien let go of the magic book.

Pluto was delighted and ran out happily with an ostrich feather duster in his mouth.

Darien suspected it wasn't really listening.

Dragged out of his solitude by Brutus, Darien stopped daydreaming and walked out of the room.

He wanted to see how his precious herbs were growing.

There are a few thin rays of sunshine in the wilderness today, which is a rare good day.

A gentle breeze blew into the herb garden from somewhere, making the green herbs sway left and right.

Darien squatted down and carefully examined the growth status of the herbs, from leaves to branches to roots, as well as blooming flowers and newly formed fruits, leaving no place untouched.

The roots of the water drop grass have turned red, which means it is short of water.

The hexagram has bloomed a flower with five petals. It is a mutation and needs to be dug out quickly.

There are also firethorns with smooth branches and monkshood that cling to the ground...

After not seeing them for a while, several herbs in the medicine garden have mutated. It is unknown what kind of medicinal effects they have become. Darian has no way to verify it, so he can only dig up all the mutated herbs.

The soil in the wasteland was very hard, and Darian had to use a small shovel to dig up the soil around the roots of the herbs with great effort.

As I was digging, I suddenly found that the entire iris plant in front of me was pulled into the soil.

Only a small black hole and a few broken leaves stuck in the hole were left.

Darien was horrified. "Sevier! The iris has burrowed into the soil!"

Sewell flung open the upstairs window, threw away his apron and jumped down from the windowsill.

Darien tried to pry the hole open with a shovel.

Suddenly, another herb was pulled into the soil.

"Look! That's it!" Darien quickly pointed to another hole on the ground.

"What the hell is this?" Seville had never seen such a situation before.

They walked around the herb garden for a long time but still couldn't figure out what was going on.

A few clucking sounds came from the chicken coop next to the herb garden.

Darien turned his head and looked over, then suddenly remembered that they also raised some rabbits.

"Are all our rabbits in the pen?" he asked Sewell.

Sewell walked over, picked up each rabbit and looked at it.

One is missing.

"One escaped," said Sewell.

"Rabbit stew tonight," Darien said expressionlessly.

They walked around the fence and then lifted up the rabbit's cabin, finding a large hole in the wall covered by a pile of grass.

Sewell went upstairs and brought down the diligently dusted Brutal, and then Darien turned it into an Andrew marten.

Pluto touched himself with his paws, from his ears to his cheeks, and then from his waist to his tail.

I feel incredible about my own furry self.

"Brutal, I have an important task to entrust to you," said Darien.

Pluto immediately stood up straight, like a soldier waiting for orders.

"A nasty rabbit has dug a tunnel and is harming my herbs, so your task is to get in and then drive the rabbit out. If you can catch it, that would be even better. If you complete the task perfectly, I can consider taking out my collection of ink." Darian continued.

Pluto immediately patted his chest and promised to complete the task.

Sewell scooped it up and placed it at the entrance of the rabbit hole.

Pluto's lithe mink body slid in as quickly as a noodle.

"What delicious way can I cook rabbit? I'm going to have a big meal tonight," said Darien.

"I heard that stewing rabbit meat with coffee grounds will make it extra delicious, but I have to confirm it with Mrs. Fitch first," said Sewell.

"Is one rabbit not enough? Should we kill another one?" Darien looked at the other rabbits.

The innocent rabbits were still chewing on the fresh grass tips, completely unaware that their plump bodies had been targeted.

"There are some other foods to go with it. Mrs. Fitch is planning to make oyster pie today," said Sewell.

"Then kill them tomorrow. I think one day they will dig out the ground here and run out of the wasteland. That will be troublesome." Darien began to worry about the problem of the rabbit plague.

"Maybe we can try to draw a confinement circle?" said Sewell.

"The magic circle is more expensive than the rabbit." Darien said darkly.

A loud flapping sound came from the rabbit house behind him.

Pluto dragged a big fat rabbit out of the hole, and the rabbit was struggling hard with its hind legs.

Sewell grabbed the rabbit's ears and lifted it up: "Finally found you, bad guy."

Brutal tugged at Darien's trouser leg, clamoring for his prized ink.

"Give me the rabbit and you go open a can of gold ink for it," said Darien.

"Good master," said Sewell.

The two of them completed the handover, one holding the rabbit and the other holding the mink, and walked in different directions.

"Oh Darien, do you want to eat rabbit tonight? I have a secret recipe." Mrs. Fitch said, looking at the fat rabbit fluttering around.

Don't be afraid little one, I will cook you deliciously.
