Chapter 60: Ritual Bad Luck

Chapter 60: Ritual Bad Luck

"Do you have any good ideas?" Darien's eyes were full of anticipation.

"I can ask bees or wasps to help me sting him and get his blood," said Celia.

"But don't bees leave their stingers inside the victim?" Glenn asked. "I once had a swarm of wasps sting me, and the stings made the wound swell up. The witch doctor had to pick them out for a long time."

"I can feed them some royal jelly, and they will become very strong and won't leave their stings when they sting people," Celia said proudly.

"Fortunately, you don't rule all the hornet's nests. Otherwise, the person who stirred up the hornet's nest would be in trouble." Glenn imagined it and felt that he would be stabbed into a bloody sieve.

"You are truly amazing. The task of collecting blood and hair will be left to you. Go and command your little guards, Your Majesty." Darien said with a smile.

"Just call me Celia." Celia smiled sheepishly.

"Kenneth, have your stealing skills improved recently?" Darien asked.

"Of course." Kenneth raised his head proudly.

"Prove it," Darien told him.

"Look! What is this!" Kenneth immediately showed a purse.

They were the only ones in the room, and everyone immediately started touching themselves.

"Ah, it's my purse!" This is Leonard.

"Why is my purse in your hands!" This is Glenn.

"You little bastard, how dare you touch me!" Miss White Stork angrily knocked Kenneth on the head.

Only Celia and Seville were not robbed. Celia's belongings were all in her bracelet, and Seville simply had a quick reaction. He dodged before Kenneth could reach him.

As for Darien, he never carried a wallet with him; Sewell paid for everything.

"Very good, I'm very satisfied with your performance." Darien nodded. "Celia, I need to borrow something from you. Do you have any special jewelry or items that look particularly valuable and impressive at first glance?"

Celia touched the bracelet on her hand, and the next moment she took out a large inverted triangle necklace inlaid with sparkling gems.

This necklace is very heavy and can cover the entire chest when worn. It is also colorful and fits the aesthetic taste of the local desert people.

"Wow! It must be worth a lot of money. Put it in that profiteer's pocket and then call the guards to catch him. I think he will be locked up for a long time!" Leonard was very excited.

"It's very beautiful, but a little too heavy. If it is stuffed into that profiteer's pocket, it will definitely be discovered." said Miss White Stork.

"Oh." Leonard slapped his head, looking very annoyed.

"Anything else?" Darien asked.

"What about this?" Celia rummaged around again and pulled out a beautiful bracelet.

It is not heavy, and the gold sheets inlaid with gems are thin. The gems are brightly colored and small, and are inlaid in a complete circle around the bracelet.

"It's indeed not very heavy, Miss White Stork, try it on." Darien handed the bracelet to Miss White Stork.

Miss White Stork took it and put it on her hand. She shook her wrist, and the bracelet slid across her wrist, shining beautifully.

"It's so beautiful. Please sell it to me after this revenge plan is over." Miss White Stork raised her wrist in front of her eyes and shook it back and forth.

"It's for you," said Celia.

"No, no, you still have to charge." Miss White Stork has her own set of principles.

"Then let's take a break first, and after lunch, we'll go to the Spice Market. The plan is simple. Celia will get his hair and blood first, and let me perform a luck-bringing ceremony." Darien said.

"Yeah." Celia nodded.

As for what to do next, it depends on how unlucky the unscrupulous businessman is.

After lunch, they hired two carriages and headed to the spice market.

At this time, the spice vendors had already set up their stalls one after another, including the profiteer who had severely cheated Leonard.

"That's him, the one with a big beard, a red shirt, and a yellow turban on his head." Leonard pointed to them from a distance.

Everyone saw the appearance of this unscrupulous businessman. He had a round and fat face, thick eyebrows and big eyes, and looked very honest. His facial expression was cheerful, and you couldn't tell at all that he would cheat people.

"So this is what a bad guy looks like." Celia exclaimed slightly, "I know."

"Well... every bad guy has his own appearance..." Miss White Stork seemed to be hesitant to speak.

"He's the fat, smiley-faced scoundrel," Celia said.

The profiteer who cheated Leonard was named Abel. He was a notorious rogue on this street. His spices were of good quality, but he would sell them to others at three to four times the price.

Many people have been cheated by him, but there are still one or two customers who come to his stall. He has sternly warned the stall owners around him that if they dare to disturb his good deeds, he will use his connections to put them in jail.

So even though many people dislike him, there is nothing they can do about it.

On this day, Abel opened his stall early and was waiting for new customers.

A few bees approached him quietly, but he didn't notice them at all, and was stung hard on the back of his neck before he was paying attention.

"Hiss." Abel took a breath and touched his neck with his hand, but felt nothing.

On the other side, there was a large group of people acting suspiciously.

"Now that we have it, how do we get it down?" Celia asked.

"Is there any water? Let's wash their butts." Darien thought for a moment and said, "Don't use too much water, just a small cup will be enough."

The unlucky ritual was not suitable to be performed in public. Fortunately, there were several hotels next to the spice market, so Leonard paid for a room.

Everyone was crowded into the room until there were not enough chairs, so the extra people sat on the beds.

Seville poured a glass of cold water, and under Celia's command, several bees took turns rinsing their butts in the water.

"Who of you guys is going to dig some dirt?" Darien asked.

"I'll go!" Jenny Pig raised her hand.

She was a little kid, and there was nothing strange about little kids squatting on the ground and playing in the mud.

Seville lifted the carpet in the room, revealing the wooden floor underneath, and took out all the paint. Darien wanted to draw a magic circle here.

Darien squatted down, dipped the special wizard pen into the white paint in the bottle, and drew a circle with his bare hands.

"Wow, this is amazing!" Leonard exclaimed from behind.

Kenneth immediately jumped up and covered his mouth with his hand.

Miss White Stork also put her finger in front of her lips, making a gesture of silence.

As everyone knows, Mr. Mage does not allow anyone to disturb him when he is concentrating.

Darien continued painting, filling the large gaps within the circle with various pattern-like characters.

Jenny Piggy pushed open the door and came in, holding a big bowl full of soil. When she walked in, everyone except Darien turned their heads to look at her and made a shushing gesture.

This scene was extremely weird. If Jenny Pig wasn't a real child, she would probably be scared to tears.

Jenny Piggy slipped in on tiptoe without making a sound.

Darien added the finishing touches to the circle, and now they could talk.

"Huh. I was afraid that my sweat would make a sound when it dripped onto the ground. I was so nervous just now." Glenn touched his forehead and wiped off the sweat.

"Me too." said Leonard, whose mouth had just been covered.

"You should be nervous," Darien nodded. "If we accidentally draw this formation incorrectly, there's a high chance we'll all be in trouble."

"Fortunately, you didn't draw it wrong. This is really a risky job." Miss White Stork breathed a sigh of relief.

"How do you know I didn't draw it wrong?" Darien smiled at her.

"Don't laugh like that. It makes me feel uneasy. You really didn't draw it wrong, right? I won't get unlucky suddenly, will I?" Miss White Stork touched her arm fiercely.

Except for Seville, everyone else looked scared.

"No, I was just kidding." Darien smiled.

"That joke isn't funny at all," Kenneth said.

"We should begin the ceremony." Darien pretended not to hear.

Sewell poured the glass of water into the mud that Jenny Pig had dug up, and mixed in the hair that the bees had brought back.

Darien took out two bottles of powder and mixed them in.

He looked at Seville, and Seville looked at him.

Sewell gave him a smile and was glared at.

"You pinch it, don't take off your gloves, and throw away the gloves after you're done," said Darien.

"Why throw away the gloves? Will they be cursed too?" Celia said.

"No, because the gloves I used to mix the mixture are dirty." Darien gave a very simple reason.

Sewell mixed the clay together, casually adjusted the shape, and molded it into a fat, short clay doll.

"Put it here." Darien pointed.

Sewell placed the doll into the rune.

Darien placed the snake skin and belladonna into the magic circle, and then chanted the spell.

This spell to inspire power was not very long, only two short sentences, and the white runes suddenly burned out of thin air, enveloping the puppet, snake skin and belladonna in flames.

The sudden burst of fire startled the rest of the people, and they all stared intently, fearing that the fire would spread and burn down the entire hotel.

Darien wasn't panicking at all.

The fire only lasted for a few seconds, and all the white patterns on the formation turned black. The only thing left on it was the blackened clay doll, and the snake skin and belladonna disappeared.

"Can this floor be washed? Do I have to pay some money?" Leonard was a little worried.

"After it wears off, you can wipe it clean," said Darien.

"You are worthy of being Darian, you are reliable in doing things!" Glenn gave praise.

"Of course. This is a good location. Open the window. Someone is about to get into trouble." Darien curled his lips.

Their room was located on the upper floor opposite the profiteer Abel's, and they could see everything clearly through the window.

So they opened the window a little and took turns to observe whether the unscrupulous businessman downstairs would get into trouble.

Not long after the formation was cast, a gust of wind blew the profiteer Abel's awning crookedly, and a pot of cactus placed on the upstairs jumped off the building with a bang and fell along the crooked awning.

With a loud bang, the cactus fell at Abel's feet. Although it did not hit him directly on the head and make his hair covered with red thorns, the sharp thorns cut the calfskin shoes on his feet.

Abel was so frightened that his whole body was shaking. After a long while, he bent down with shaking hands to pick up the cactus.

The cactus's pot had long been broken into pieces. He scooped up the dirt on his hands and picked up the cactus.

Because of gravity, the cactus got stuck in his shoes. After pulling it out, there were bloodstains on some of the sharp thorns, and the thorns had scratched his toes.

The emotional ups and downs and panic made him temporarily block out the pain, and only now did he realize the pain.

"Hiss. That looks painful." Glenn couldn't help but curl up his toes.

The others who witnessed everything by the window also agreed with him and secretly tucked their toes into their shoes.

I'm so glad they weren't hurt.

"If he wasn't such a profiteer, I'd actually feel a bit sorry for him. We can see if the ritual has more than just this little bit of effect," said Darien.

Abel downstairs stared at his feet for a while, then he hugged them and cried out in pain. Because he was so unpopular, no one paid any attention to him.

A black cat was walking through the gap between several shops. Suddenly, it lowered its back and made a crawling posture.
