Chapter 83: Send flowers, do you also want a kiss?
The ghost, relying on its familiarity with the farmhouse, ran away after causing some trouble.
Leaving only a mess behind for Darien.
Mrs. Fitch went back to cooking, grumbling, and Leon was pulled out from the corner to help tidy up the room with Sewell.
The angry wizard began to draw magic circles in the room with salt.
As long as that ghost dares to come back and do bad things, he will definitely be caught by the magic circle, and then...
Hehehe, he's finished!
The wizard bit his back teeth fiercely, and the movement of sprinkling salt on his hands became more and more frantic.
"What happened to Darien? I seemed to see black energy coming out of him." Leon whispered to Sevier.
"Don't talk. That ghost caused such a big mess today." Sewell lowered his voice. "We just need silence now."
"I heard it, haha!" Darien turned around and glared at them fiercely, holding the salt in his hand.
Seville and Leon immediately shut up and moved the sofa they were carrying farther and farther to another room.
Darien continued to grind his back teeth and draw magic circles with salt in the room.
Darien stopped drawing the magic circle briefly until Mrs. Fitch and Fitch finished preparing lunch.
"Fortunately, we were able to finish our lunch despite the crisis, and our porcelain was fine. The only problem was that the pot that fell to the ground had a small dent on it, but it didn't affect its use," said Mrs. Fitch.
"Seeing this lunch makes me feel a little better." Darien said expressionlessly.
"You don't look happy at all," Leon said.
"Shut up." Mrs. Fitch stamped hard on his foot.
"It hurts so much!" Leon was in so much pain that he almost fell under the table.
"Let's have lunch," Darien said. "We have plans to go to the mountain ranch this afternoon. We can't let that ghost get in the way."
Except for the cold dishes, all the dishes on the table were tomato-flavored and bright red. Darian tasted the tomato soup first.
The sweet and sour taste is very appetizing. Eating something can make people feel much better. Darian finally stopped frowning.
They began to discuss their travel plans for the afternoon.
"I heard that at the end of the pasture are continuous mountains, and at the foot of the mountains there is a lake that is as beautiful as the eyes of an elf," said Sewell.
"The name of the mountains is the Pale Mountains, and the lake at the foot of the mountains is called Moon Lake. They have a story to tell." Darien put down the spoon and said.
"What's the story?" asked Mrs. Fitch.
"I know this story..." Leon began, but he received a lot of eye hints halfway through his words. "But I have almost forgotten it, so what is the story about?"
"Okay, no need to be so cautious." Darien thought they were being too obvious. "It's a love story."
In the story, there is a princess from the moon who falls in love with a prince. She and the prince have a happy love, but she is sad because she has to leave her hometown.
The tears that fell when crying turned into a blue moon lake.
In order to make her longing less sad, the fairies collected strands of moonlight, rolled them into silver threads, and then used the silver threads to weave a cloak, which they then draped over the mountains. From then on, the mountains had the color of moonlight.
The princess would briefly forget her sorrow when she gazed at the mountains.
“I don’t think it’s a good story,” Darian said. “But in this story, we can learn what the mountains and the lakes look like.”
"I'd rather have two less Margherita pizzas than that poor girl go back to her hometown," Mrs. Fitch sighed.
"This story isn't true, so you can have two extra pizzas," Darian said.
"That's great news. Come and try the tomato braised oxtail. I didn't follow the recipe exactly, but added a little bit of my secret recipe," said Mrs. Fitch.
Darien tasted a piece of it politely.
The oxtail was stewed until it was soft and the tomato juice soaked every piece of meat. The juice not only had the taste of tomatoes, but also the sweetness of onions and carrots, and the appetizing slightly spicy taste came from the bell pepper powder.
"It tastes delicious. It's stewed with white wine, right? It also contains chicken broth and mashed potatoes. It tastes great," said Darian.
"Oh Darien!" Mrs. Fitch clutched her chest. "I knew your taste buds were still this sharp."
"Bean stew with tomatoes is also delicious," said Sewell.
"Of course I remember exactly what you all like to eat," said Mrs. Fitch.
Fitch nodded in agreement while eating sweet roasted figs. Pluto, who was holding an oxtail bone in his mouth under the table, barked twice.
"What about me?" Leon pointed at himself.
"You? Haven't you always been stubborn about drinking only kerosene for lubrication?" Mrs. Fitch glanced at him.
"Tomato soup is so delicious." Leon quickly lowered his head.
Darien finally laughed, tearing off a bit of the hard edge of his Margherita pizza and smiling at their bickering.
The lunch went smoothly. The ghost seemed to have understood his threat and did not come out to cause trouble for the time being.
I guess she is really afraid of being caught and used as a donkey by him.
Putting the unpleasant things behind them, after a short lunch break, they sat in an open ox cart and drove towards the mountain pasture.
The farmhouse was located at the edge of the pasture, and the mountains were quite a long distance away. Walking there on foot would be a great test for both body and mind, so they simply took a bullock cart to the open grassland at the foot of the mountains.
You can enjoy the scenery along the way without having to walk.
"It's so beautiful here." Darien couldn't help but sigh.
What he saw was a vast green grassland, with cattle walking slowly on it, occasionally lowering their heads to nibble on the grass. Some unknown wild flowers grew on the green land, and he was a little worried that the slender flower stems would be broken when they swayed in the wind.
This scene is actually no different from the endless wasteland outside the tower. There is also the same grass and some flowers dotted on it, but the feeling it gives him is very different.
If you keep moving forward here, you can go somewhere else, instead of going in any direction and eventually returning to the lonely tower.
"Look at that cow." Sewell whispered in his ear.
"Which way, there's a group of them here," Darien said.
"The one with brown spots, it's chewing another cow's tail." There was a laugh in Sewell's voice.
"I saw it, and it looked like a bit of a dumb bad guy," Darien said.
Not far from them, there was a stupid-looking cow, chewing on its companion's tail in its mouth, and then it was whipped by its companion's tail.
After being smoked, I still look up blankly
It looks really stupid.
The ox cart continued to rumble forward, not very fast. When passing by wild flowers, one could reach out and pick one.
Fitch didn't say anything, but his hands were quick. He reached down and picked several beautiful and bright wild flowers, took out a ribbon from his pocket, tied them up and handed it to Mrs. Fitch.
Mrs. Fitch's face flushed bright red. She took the bouquet and smelled and looked at it. "Dear! You are so thoughtful! I love you so much!"
A loud bob sounded on Fitch's face, and Mrs. Fitch gave him a sweet kiss.
Fitch's face immediately turned red and he turned into a hot rat.
This scene was not friendly to the two bachelors.
Darien turned his head away, and his ears turned a little red.
"I picked a flower too, but it's not as pretty as this one." Sewell whispered in his ear.
"Why, do you want a kiss too?" Darien looked back with an unnatural expression.
"I would be honored to receive your kiss if you are willing to give it to me." Seville's eyes curved slightly.
"Where are my flowers?" Darien didn't answer.
"Here you go." Sewell handed over the flowers.
This is a very lonely flower. The reason for its loneliness is that it was abducted alone from its big family by a crow. Fitch on the opposite side at least knows that there can't be only one flower.
Darien looked carefully at the flower that now belonged to him. The petals were pink and wrinkled, like the texture of rubbed cloth. There were only three leaves and the stem was a little long.
Strictly speaking, this is actually a beautiful flower.
"It's okay." Darien gave a stingy compliment.
Sewell laughed.
Mrs. Fitch across the street was immersed in the joy of receiving flowers and didn't pay much attention to them.
But the space now was too private, and Mr. Crow couldn't boldly ask his master for a kiss. He could only watch others' happiness with regret.
The ox cart continued to move forward slowly, and when they got tired of the scenery on both sides, the cart finally stopped.
They had already reached a relatively flat area at the foot of the mountain. To go further up, they would need their two legs to climb the slope.
"We're finally here." Darien jumped out of the car.
The flowing air here is even colder, because in front of you is a mountain half covered with snow, and the wind coming from the mountains carries the scent of ice and snow.
"So this is the cloak the fairies wove with moonlight. The moon must be cold," said Sewell.
"Then tears must be sad," said Mrs. Fitch. "Look at that lake over there. It's so blue and deep, so it must taste bitter and astringent."
"No!" A crisp voice joined them.
Darien looked back and saw a girl riding a horse. She was wearing a straw hat and her vest was embroidered with large flowers.
"The water in that lake..." Mrs. Fitch looked at her.
"It tastes sweet!" The girl laughed happily. "You must have heard the story of the Moon Princess, right? That was made up by a boring bard. Such beautiful mountains and lakes were not created by a not-so-happy love story. They are right here."
"I agree with you," Darien said.
"Then you must be a smart person." The girl laughed. "My name is Lianna. My home is over there. It's also a small inn. It provides rest for guests who come here to play. If you need anything, just go there and tell me my name."
