Chapter 93: Back to Time Stone
I went on a week-long trip. I only brought 4 suitcases when I left, but when I came back, I brought 4 cars full of stuff.
As soon as Darien came back, he went straight to the garden and sat on the garden swing and swung around.
Seville handled the mail for him in the store. The store had been closed for a week and customers couldn't come in. Those who were anxious were almost going crazy, and those who were not anxious also started to get anxious. Letters came in like snowflakes. Once the store reopened, there would probably be a big crowd, so he had to reply to the customers and arrange the time.
Darien swung on the swing for a while, but didn't see Sewell come down to find him. He guessed he was buried under the letters.
He decided to go to the herb garden.
After traveling for a week, most of the herbs in the herb garden had wilted. He picked up the watering can and casually watered the entire garden. After he was done, Sewell still did not show up.
He decided to go inside the store to take a look.
Sewell was not in the store either. There was a stack of opened and put-back letters on the table. Darien walked over and flipped through them casually, then touched the small round spoon for melting wax. It was still a little warm to the touch.
He must have just left not long ago.
Where would he go? Darien wondered to himself.
Maybe in the kitchen? Mrs. Fitch had bought a lot of groceries and needed a hand.
Leon was hanging on the wall. If he wanted to know where Sevier had gone, he could just ask or call Sevier's name and he would be able to see him soon, but he was unwilling to do so.
The vacation on the Stemino Plain seemed like a lifetime ago, and Darien was a little conflicted, wondering if he could pretend nothing had happened.
But Sewell would seduce him, and he didn't have much patience.
Hesitantly, he walked into the kitchen, where Mrs. Fitch and Fitch were jumping up and down.
"You're here at the right time. Come and lend a hand. Help is needed here!" Mrs. Fitch saw him as a drowning frog saw the lotus leaf that belonged to it.
Darien inexplicably began to move, putting some canned goods and sausages where they belonged.
When they stopped, he asked Mrs. Fitch, "Have you seen Sewell? Do you know where he went?"
Mrs. Fitch said, "I don't know. I haven't seen him since I came back. Maybe he's in the attic?"
Sewell's room was in the attic, and it was indeed possible that he was there.
Darien rarely went to Sewell's room, but at this moment he decided to check it out.
The stairs of the tower are spiral, because this is a cylindrical tower itself. The stairs are on the outermost side, and they are made into a spiral shape to save space.
Darien climbed many flights of stairs and finally reached Sewell's room.
He had no intention of knocking at all. Everything here was his property. Since when did the owner knock on the door when inspecting the property?
Darien pushed the door open and walked in.
Sewell was not in his own room, but there were several familiar things in the house.
Two wreaths of withered but still vibrant petals hung on the wall, along with vases of wildflowers in the farmhouse bedroom.
These are just what we see, what about what we don’t see?
Darien walked to the table, opened the unlocked drawer, and found some small items that he had lost before.
For example, his old handkerchief, or his shirt buttons.
Darien only knew that crows liked to collect shiny little things, but he didn't expect that they had such a hobby.
But what about Seville? Where on earth had he gone?
He sat on Sewell's bed and thought.
"Dear master, why are you in my room?" Seville's voice sounded in his ears.
"I can't find you anywhere. Where did you go?" Darien said.
"I'll sort the mail in the store, take care of the garden and the herb garden, and then see if there's anything I can do in the kitchen. Mrs. Fitch said you were looking for me. Is there anything you need me to do?" said Sewell.
"No. Why do I find so many things that belong to me here?" said Darien.
He knew the answer, but he just wanted to ask.
"Because I am a thief, trying to steal your heart as well as your things," said Sewell.
"That joke isn't funny at all. I'm going to dock your salary," Darien said.
"Okay. Would you like to talk to me about what you are going to do? I don't want you to be alone," said Sewell.
"I don't want to." Darien looked him in the eyes.
"Why?" asked Sewell.
"There's no reason, I just don't want to. I have to do my own thing, and I hope to do it by myself. Is this reason enough?" said Darian.
"Not quite enough," Sewell said. "What kind of thing would put you at risk of never coming back? What exactly are you going to do?"
At this moment, Mr. Crow was as stubborn as a donkey, grunting as he ran towards the answer he wanted to know.
"Will I be unable to leave this room if I don't answer this question?" Darien said to Sewell who was occupying the door.
"Please forgive my offense, it is indeed true." Sewell blocked the door tighter.
"Okay, I'll tell you then." Darien sighed.
"Is it so easy to get the answer?" Sewell paused and said.
"What else do you want? Are you going to keep asking me questions every day? I'm tired of it, even if you don't." Darien glared at him. "Well, this is actually very simple. I want to go back in time and save someone who's already dead."
"It does sound simple, but resurrecting the dead is a forbidden technique. We can't change the past. Even a small pebble from the past can shift many established paths," Sewell said. "You told me this. Why would you do such a thing?"
"I've wanted to do this for a long time. This person is very important to me. He saved my life," said Darian.
"Then take me with you. This person saved you, which allowed me to meet you. We should do this together," said Sewell.
"I need to think about it again." Darien did not agree immediately.
"Take your time to think about what I should prepare for you first?" Sewell asked.
"No, I'm ready. I just need to wait for the right time," said Darien.
When is the right time? It certainly isn't now.
Gaota received countless letters within a week and had to deal with them before he could free up time.
The first customer after the shop reopened was Mrs. Mary, who brought fourteen letters in a row, which showed that the situation was very critical.
When Darien saw the lady, she was dressed in black mourning.
"Mrs. Mary, what are you wearing..." He was a little surprised.
"As you can see, I'm a widow," said Lady Mary with a smile.
"You no longer need the love potion, so what did you need to write all those letters?" Darien asked.
"My husband's death was a little ugly." Lady Mary took out her handkerchief and pressed her eyes. "His soul has been wandering around the house, frightening several maids. I'd like you to take care of it."
"Having a ghost haunting the house is indeed a serious matter. When would you like us to deal with it?" Darien said.
"Of course now. I still like this house very much." Mrs. Mary said with a smile, "Kenneth is also at home recently. He will be very happy to see you."
"Then let's go prepare some things first," said Darien.
Seville turned around and went to the alchemy room upstairs to get the materials and tools for exorcism.
Lady Mary happily shared many recent court news with Darien. Before she finished the pot of hot tea, Sewell came back.
"Your assistant came back too quickly, and I still have a lot to say. After driving my husband away, I hope you can stay and have lunch together." Mrs. Mary said with a smile.
"Thank you for your invitation, but we still have many important things to do. We have to receive other guests after exorcising the ghost." Darien declined.
They made short work of Lady Mary's husband, and listened for more than ten minutes to Kenneth's account of his adventures, including his mention of Celia and Miss Stork's journey to the other side of the continent.
After dealing with Lady Mary's affairs, it was Hawkins' turn. Hawkins's worry was how to discipline a dragon.
His little green dragon has now grown very big and is no longer suitable to live in the house. However, because it has no guidance from other dragons, it has no way to shrink itself and fit into the house.
Darien threw him a Dragon Taming Guide and charged him a whopping 20 gold coins for the rental.
There were also various invitations to visit and a constant stream of customers buying magic supplies... It wasn't until half a month later that Darien finally had some free time.
"Sevier, how many customers has the store received so far today?" Darian asked Sevier.
"According to the guest registration in the register, there are a total of 31,672 guests." Sewell said, opening the register.
"I still remember the first day I came here," Darien said. "Back then, there was only one tower. The counter was built later."
"How did you get here?" asked Sewell.
"It was a gift, given to me by the one who saved me," Darien said. "I am the successor to this desolate land. At first, I didn't know what it was for."
"You couldn't fulfill people's wishes at first?" asked Sewell.
"At first, I was just an ordinary magician doing potion business," Darien said. "But as my customers increased, I collected more and more recipes and gradually became familiar with this tower."
"It sounds very difficult. You must have been through a lot of hardships, right?" Sewell looked at him with heartache.
"No, I made a fortune and decorated room after room," Darien said. "So put away your gaze. I don't deserve your sympathy. Go and get the box out of the drawer."
Sewell took out a box with a bird on it from the drawer of the desk. Inside was the Time Stone.
The Time Stones can turn back time. They can be the key to open the Plantagenet Door, and they can also turn back time for a person.
But no one had ever done this before, and Darien didn't know if he could succeed.
