Even as Yin Han slung her backpack over her shoulder and prepared to leave, the little shadow behind her was still there.
Yin Han turned her head helplessly: "I have to go to work now, you go home."
Upon hearing that he was leaving, Nan Sheng hurriedly put on her clothes and shoes, and moved closer to him: "I want to go with you, is that okay?"
Nan Sheng didn't want to go back; he wasn't home anyway.
"I have to work very late."
If there's no rejection, then there's still a chance.
Nan Sheng tugged at his sleeve, her tone softening slightly, and looked at him with bright eyes: "It's okay, I just want to be with you. I promise, I'll be good."
After she finished speaking, she shook Yin Han's sleeve.
"Um."
After saying that, Yin Han left without looking at her.
Wow, she's so sweet. I wish she could keep acting cute with him all the time.
After getting Yin Han's permission, Nan Sheng skipped and hopped along beside him.
Just as she reached the door, Nan Sheng seemed to remember something: "Wait a minute!" Then she turned around and took out a piece of clothing from the two bags she had just brought.
To be precise, it was a black down jacket, which Nan Sheng carried to Yin Han.
He wasn't wearing his school uniform today; he was wearing a very ordinary cotton-padded coat, but in her opinion, it was quite thin.
"Yin Han, lower your head." This is what she saw in the mall, very similar to the one she's wearing now, one black and one white.
Yin Han glanced at the clothes in her hand but did not look down.
"Yin Han, are you really not going to wear this? It's a new outfit I bought for you, and look, doesn't it look a lot like the white down jacket I'm wearing? Matching outfits!" Nan Sheng looked at his expression, afraid of missing any information.
Sure enough, she smiled and tentatively said, "You really don't want to wear it? Okay then. We can't return it now. I'll go downstairs and see who needs clothes and give them to them. Otherwise, it'll be a waste."
As she was about to put her clothes away, someone grabbed her hand the moment she turned around.
"Yes, it's cold." Yin Han said awkwardly, looking at the girl, his face turned away unnaturally, but his body had already lowered and bent over.
Little brat, you clearly want to wear it, but you're pretending to be nonchalant.
After dressing him, Nan Sheng nodded in satisfaction. Tall and wearing a long black down jacket, his sculpted and aloof features, sharp, slanted eyebrows, slender black eyes that held a hint of brilliance, thin, slightly pursed lips, and well-defined features, along with his tall and slender yet not rugged physique, were beyond description. All she knew was that he was incredibly handsome!
She nodded in satisfaction, then deliberately hooked her finger around the boy's as they walked out, before secretly taking out her phone to take a picture.
This residential complex is relatively old, and the stairs are smaller and steeper than usual.
Nan Sheng took this opportunity to hug Yin Han's arm tightly, since he wouldn't refuse anyway.
Suddenly, as I was going down the stairs, I bumped into a middle-aged man who was holding a bottle of beer. His face was dark and red, and he stumbled up the stairs.
Upon seeing Nan Sheng, his drunken gaze held a hint of excitement.
Nan Sheng felt very uncomfortable under that blatant gaze. Just as she was about to call out to Yin Han, he pulled her into his arms, and she lay on his chest.
Yin Han stared at the man with eyes as sharp as an eagle's, as cold as a beast, sending chills down one's spine.
The man met Yin Han's gaze and suddenly trembled involuntarily. Damn it, isn't he just a brat? Why does he look at him like the King of Hell?
"This young lady is so beautiful, I couldn't help but take a second look." The man said with a chuckle before continuing upstairs.
Only then did Nan Sheng lift her head from Yin Han's embrace, but then she had a reason to cling to Yin Han, with the boy's entire arm in her arms.
After leaving the dilapidated neighborhood, Yin Han pulled Nan Sheng along for a while before hailing a taxi to the restaurant where he worked.
Normally, he would walk directly to the bus stop, which only cost 1 yuan, but he didn't want the girl to squeeze onto the bus with him.
Nan Sheng followed Yin Han to the restaurant where Su Chuanlin had taken her to eat when she first arrived in Beicheng. Only now did she notice the name of the restaurant: Yuhecang. It was a pretty good name, with high-end ingredients and cuisine from various regions.
Yin Han led Nan Sheng to a seat near the kitchen and close to the window: "You stay here, and I'll stay behind you. Don't wander off. Wait for me."
“Okay!” Nan Sheng nodded obediently.
Only then did Yin Han feel relieved enough to go to the kitchen.
Nan Sheng sat alone at the dining table, looking out the window at the street. Even in the cold winter, people were still coming and going.
A moment later, Yin Han walked over to her with the food and put it down, saying, "Eat up. If you want anything else, just order it."
Nan Sheng looked at the menu: a strawberry cake and tiramisu, a cup of red bean milk, and a small plate of strawberries.
The desserts here, she had noticed last time, were not cheap.
Nan Sheng instinctively wanted to refuse, as this was equivalent to Yin Han's daily wage here.
"No need! I'm not hungry. We just had dinner before coming out, and I can't eat anymore. Can you return these to me?"
"Oh no, we can just pack up the leftovers later." With that, the person left.
His back view revealed a sense of vitality and stubbornness.
Nan Sheng had no choice but to pick up the spoon. After taking a bite, she seemed to remember something, got up and left, but sat back down a few minutes later.
Then I happily enjoyed the dessert.
Yin Han ordered too much for her; she couldn't finish it. Then, her eyes darted around the restaurant before she quietly walked to the kitchen door and secretly peered inside from the edge of the doorway.
The boy stood there, holding the wok in one hand and operating the spatula in the other, occasionally lifting the wok to stir-fry. It seemed like a simple action, but Nan Sheng knew how heavy it was. She didn't know before, but she discovered it today when she was stir-frying tomatoes and eggs.
Moreover, it's a teenager who has persisted for several hours.
Even in winter, the kitchen was terribly hot. The boy was wearing a short-sleeved white coat, and there seemed to be some sweat on his forehead. Perhaps because there were too many dishes, the boy had neither the time nor the hands to care about the sweat on his body, letting it flow down.
Nan Sheng couldn't describe the feeling; the bitterness in her heart made her ache, and then she silently walked back to her seat.
At 10 p.m., Nan Sheng gradually felt sleepy. She had been sitting there for more than three hours, and since she hadn't taken a nap that afternoon, her eyelids were starting to droop.
"He's gone." Yin Han appeared before her without her noticing.
Nan Sheng, whose eyelids had been drooping just moments before, instantly became much more awake: "Yin Han!"
"Okay, let's go back."
Nan Sheng stood up and touched his face and forehead directly. Well, the sweat had long since dried.
Yin Han was puzzled.
"Are you tired?" Nan Sheng looked at him tenderly, her eyes full of heartache.
