Waste? Pei Du's molten-gold pupils (only two burning embers remained through his dark-red crystal visor) suddenly contracted! Xingqiong's pride and the feeling of powerlessness he felt at that moment were like two red-hot knives, fiercely twisting his consciousness! He clenched his teeth tightly (if that metal jaw could still be called teeth), forcibly ignoring the soul-tearing pain, and once again drove his heavy left leg!

Heavy footsteps echoed across the silent wasteland like a death knell. Each step was accompanied by the groaning of metal, the splashing of mud, and a sharp pain in his neural connections that nearly made him faint. The heavy armor bound the remaining body of the law, like a metal tomb on his back. The Watcher always led by several meters, its propulsion driven by the cold, unwavering efficiency of a machine. The heavy source tank dragged through the mire, plowing deep furrows. Its dark red windows constantly scanned the complex terrain ahead—obstacles formed by collapsed giant metal beams, bottomless mud traps, and metal slopes covered in foul vines...
"Left...37 degrees...bypass...energy trap..." The cold command came without warning.
Almost instinctively, Pei Du twisted his heavy steel body and clumsily turned. Less than two seconds after he strayed from his original path, a seemingly flat, muddy area ahead of him suddenly and silently collapsed, revealing a molten pool of energy beneath, flashing ominously with dark blue arcs. It resembled a giant biological stomach! The swirling, viscous energy liquid exuded a sickening acidic aura and distorted fluctuations!
[High energy…corrosive…entropy increase trap…avoided…successfully…]
Cold sweat (if this body could still produce cold sweat) instantly permeated Pei Du's consciousness.
"Right...climb...abandoned...energy conduit...shortcut..." The command sounded again.
Ahead lay a small hill formed from the wreckage of a collapsed starship engine. The Watcher had already used its single remaining arm and leg, in a near-self-mutilation fashion, to cling to the exposed, scorching metal pipes and twisted alloy skeletons, climbing upward. The heavy source tank was wedged between the gaps in its broken leg's armor, dragging it upwards bit by bit.
Pei Du looked at the steep slope full of sharp metal fractures and burning pipes, feeling the violent fluctuations in the energy core in his body and the severe pain in the nerve connections, and a cold despair came over him again.
“Climb… or… die…” The electronic voice of the Watcher came from the gap in the metal wreckage above, cold and without a trace of ripples.
Die? No! The two dark red embers in Pei Du's eyes suddenly burst into a frenzied light! He growled, and his heavy alloy claws (left arm) fiercely plunged into the scorching metal pipe! Swish! The sharp pain of metal friction and high temperature burning instantly came! He ignored the warning and stomped his heavy alloy right foot on another raised, rusty armor plate, forcing force!
Crunch——!
The metal twisted and deformed! His heavy body shifted upwards half a meter! The sharp alloy claws on his left arm left deep scratches on the scalding pipe, and the excruciating pain from the nerve connection hit his consciousness like a tsunami!
Step after step! Each climb felt like rolling on a mountain of knives! Sharp metal edges scraped against the thick armor, creating a piercing noise and leaving deep dents. The scorching heat of the pipes burned the leg armor red, and the bionic structure within issued an overload warning. The data stream within the helmet frantically flashed across the screen, forcing the power core's output to increase. The dark red energy remnants, forcibly suppressed by the dark blue life-sustaining fluid, began to stir restlessly!
"Hurry... Black Tide... Speed up..." The Watcher's cold voice urged from above. It had already climbed to the top of the wreckage, its dark red windows fixed fixedly staring behind it. The all-consuming, sticky darkness was no longer a shadow on the horizon, but a curtain of death that obscured the sky and the sun, rolling in from behind! The vanguard of the darkness was less than a kilometer away from the hill of metal wreckage! The folds of the distorted space were clearly visible. Silently, several massive metal masts, hundreds of meters tall, that stood on the side of the wreckage hill, were gently "touched" by the edge of the darkness. Like fragile sand sculptures, they instantly crumbled and turned into scattered ash!
The cold wind of extinction has already blown to my back!
“Ugh, ahhhhhhhhh!” The ultimate threat of death overwhelmed all pain and delay! Pei Du roared from his soul, his heavy steel body erupting with the last of his strength! His alloy claws dug deep into the edge of a huge, twisted armor plate above his head, and his heavy right foot slammed down below!
Boom!
The supporting metal plate beneath his feet couldn't withstand the immense force and instantly broke and collapsed! But Pei Du also used this force to suddenly soar upwards like a cannonball! His heavy body slammed hard onto the edge of the wreckage mountaintop! The metal collision made a deafening roar!
He climbed up! The price he paid was a sharp crackle from the hydraulic transmission structure of his right leg, the internal pipelines breaking, and the dark blue life-support fluid spurting out from the cracks in the armor like blood! The violent loss of balance caused him to fall forward!
A metal hand covered with heavy armor and icy cold suddenly grabbed a protruding armor plate on his chest like a pair of pliers, forcibly stabilizing his momentum of falling forward!
It was the Watcher! It had turned around at some point, its single remaining arm clutching Pei Du tightly. The dark red crystal window was close at hand, two points of crimson light coldly reflecting the data stream flowing across Pei Du's helmet visor and the ultimate darkness sweeping across the sky from behind!
