Chapter 129 Eternal Silence Heartbeat

Cold.

An ultimate cold that transcends physical perception, freezes the flow of time, and denies the meaning of existence, like a cosmic tombstone condensed from billions of years of black ice, pressing down with a loud bang!

Pei Du's shattered steel body, like the residue dumped into the cosmic stomach, tumbled and sank in the insoluble black tide of entropy. There was no light, no sound, no touch; only an absolute, suffocating nothingness that enveloped every inch of armor, seeping into every crack and corroding every vestige of structure. The dark silver alloy that comprised his body, the remnants of the laws of the stellar firmament, the forcibly stitched bionic tissue—before this ultimate nothingness, it lost all color and vitality at a visible rate, fading into a lifeless, eternally dead gray.

Consciousness, like a stone sunk into a lightless ocean, was enveloped and crushed by layers of cold, sticky darkness. Thinking was a luxury, feeling a burden. Only the last vestiges of spiritual energy, the last spark of the "Heart of Origin" that had just detonated itself, remained, like the last flicker of a candle in the wind. Amidst the boundless, icy nothingness, it feebly and futilely resisted its final dissolution.

[External… Entropy erosion… 100%…]

[Material structure…disintegration rate…89%…continuous…]

[Energy core…remaining…0.01%…depleted…]

[Consciousness activity…below…maintenance threshold…]

The vision inside the helmet had long been swallowed by pure darkness, even the crimson alarm had gone out. Only the cold prompts of logic, like the electrocardiogram of a dying person, intermittently slipped past the edge of Pei Du's fading consciousness, announcing the approach of the end.

it's over.

Using himself as fuel, he ignited the fire of resistance.

The price is falling into eternal nothingness.

The cold relief when Xu Shuangyao finally disappeared, the tragic blueprint of the ancient Ark designers under the desperate starry sky, the final faint blue light that burst out of his body when the Watcher threw him out... All the images, all the emotions, all the sacrifices and persistence, in the face of this absolute "nothingness", quickly faded and blurred, like a sand painting thrown into strong acid.

Only the remnant of spirit that resisted dissolution was pulsating extremely weakly, as if being pulled by an invisible thread.

Dong...

Boom…Boom…

It was not a physical sound, but a resonance that penetrated dimensions, penetrated entropy, penetrated his consciousness that was on the verge of dissipation, and was directly imprinted on the origin of existence!

The core of the Ark! The "Heart of Origin"! The dark golden star he had forcibly ignited! Its pulsation did not cease despite his exile! Instead, surrounded and corroded by the black tide of entropy, it beat like an unyielding war drum, heavy and slow, yet with a tenacious will that shook the void, it repeatedly penetrated the sticky darkness and transmitted Pei Du's sense of impending annihilation!

With each heavy throbbing, the dying embers of Pei Du's core leaped violently! Like a drowning man grasping at an invisible straw! Each beat brought a faint, yet incredibly clear sense of "presence," briefly piercing the icy nothingness that enveloped everything!

It's still burning! It's still resisting!

The fire...is not extinguished!

This faint resonance became the only beacon of light in Pei Du's sinking consciousness. He exhausted all his remaining willpower, no longer resisting the collapse of his body, no longer thinking about his own survival, but instead firmly "anchored" the last bit of his spiritual strength on the heavy heartbeat that pierced through the darkness!

Perception... is infinitely stretched and distorted.

In the viscous darkness of the entropic black tide, time lost its meaning. Pei Du felt his consciousness drift like cosmic dust for eons, and yet it seemed as if only a moment had passed. The material that made up his body silently weathered and flaked under the laws of entropy, transforming into the most primitive particles of dust. The thick armor crumbled to ash, the remaining fragments of the stellar laws dissipated like burnt embers, and the bionic transmission structure decayed into mud. The forcibly stitched steel body, at a speed visible to the naked eye, silently returned to dust in the viscous darkness.

Only the spiritual imprint drawn by the beating of the "Heart of Origin" is like an immortal spark. After the physical body is completely annihilated, it still relies on the resonance across dimensions and continues to survive extremely tenaciously...

It was no longer Pei Du's complete consciousness, more like a fragmented stream of information bearing the final imprint of his existence, Xu Shuangyao's cold mark, the remnants of the laws of the galaxy, and even tainted by a trace of entropy. A ghost, existing in absolute nothingness, relying on the pulse of a distant fire.

[The material carrier... is completely... annihilated...]

[Consciousness imprint…information state…maintained…weak…]

[Anchoring Source… “Heart of Origin”… Resonance… Stability…]

[Entropy pollution... lurking... threat level... unknown...]

The cold stream of reminders also vanished completely with the annihilation of the physical body. Only the fragmented stream of information remained, pulsating faintly like a heartbeat in the sticky darkness, accompanied by the heavy and stubborn "dong...dong..." sound coming from afar.

It couldn't "see," but it could "sense" its direction. The source of the pulsation was somewhere "beneath" this viscous darkness.

There was no concept of movement. This fragmented stream of information was simply instinctively and passively drawn by the faint gravity contained within that heavy pulsation, like cosmic dust captured by a star, slowly "sinking" towards the source of the pulsation.

Sinking.

In the eternal darkness, sinking towards the only light of light.

I don’t know how long it has been “sunken”.

The heavy heartbeat grew clearer and closer! Each "dong" sound resonated more strongly with the incomplete information stream, preventing it from completely dissipating into nothingness.
