Chapter 39 Raging Waves

The hacker group "Dark Current" launched a surprise attack, and the Gu core database controlled by Su Wan was in danger.

At the critical moment, she released the "data torrent" of AI in her body, instantly defeating the enemy's offensive.

As everyone cheered, Gu Chengxiao's helicopter landed on the top floor of Gu's Building.

"Who allowed you to use this power without permission?" he asked coldly.

Technical director Ajie sacrificed himself in front of Su Wan to protect the server.

"Dawn of the Omnic" made its first appearance: "Ms. Su Wan, you've finally woken up."

The air solidified.

On the massive main screen of the Cybersecurity Center, known as the "Beehive," a vast three-dimensional diagram representing the Gu Group's core database, codenamed "Ark," was being ravaged by a thick, filthy, dark-red data stream that seemed to carry the malice of an endless abyss. Like a living thing, yet also like corrupted blood, the dark red roared and squirmed, gnawing at the radiant golden screen representing the firewall. Each impact caused the screen to tremble violently, emitting a piercing, teeth-grinding electronic buzzing alarm, causing the entire floor of the operations hall to resonate subtly.

"Firewall load is 98%! 99%! 100%!" A technician's voice suddenly rose sharply and changed its tone, and was then completely drowned out by the even more shrill alarm.

"Buzz—buzz—buzz—"

The golden light curtain, symbolizing absolute defense, shattered like glass struck by a sledgehammer under the final, furious blow of the dark crimson torrent! Countless tiny golden points of light scatter, then are completely devoured by the voracious crimson. The main screen is instantly shrouded in the heart-wrenching crimson, leaving only a few isolated blue blocks representing the core data area, still flickering tenaciously, but like candles in a storm, they could go out at any moment.

"The Ark has fallen! I repeat, the Ark has fallen! The core database is exposed! 'Undercurrent' is executing a command to overwrite the highest level of privilege!" Ajie, the technical director in charge of monitoring the privileged nodes, was pale as paper, sweat streaming down his temples. His fingers tapped away on the virtual keyboard, but to no avail. "Damn it! Their attack logic is completely incomprehensible! Overwrite command... locked onto the target... Director Su's independent encryption zone! They're trying to erase her highest level of privilege key!"

"undercurrent"!

This name was like a bucket of ice water, pouring down on everyone's head. That top hacker group, like a ghost in the cyber world, was elusive, cunning, and never failed. Every time they appeared, they were accompanied by the collapse of a business giant. They had actually set their sights on the Gu family!

The entire "Hive" operations hall fell into a brief, suffocating silence. The faces of dozens of top engineers and cybersecurity experts were dimmed by the despairing crimson on the screens, their eyes filled with disbelief and horror, a sense of helplessness in the face of overwhelming power. The air felt heavy, as if filled with lead, and every breath was a burning pain. The low hum of equipment and the piercing shrillness of alarms intertwined like a web of death, tightly strangling everyone's heart.

"Director Su!" Ajie turned his head abruptly, his voice hoarse as he looked at Su Wan, who was standing at the center of the command desk. A last glimmer of hope lingered in his eyes. "Overwrite command... Force write in 10 seconds! Once the key is overwritten, all your permissions will be revoked, and the 'Ark'... will be completely finished! We... can't stop it!"

Ten seconds!

A cold and ruthless scarlet countdown, like the scythe of the god of death, suddenly hovered in the center of the main screen, shocking!

"nineteen……"

The cold electronic synthesizer sound echoed in the silent hall like a death knell.

Time seemed to stretch infinitely. Su Wan stood at the podium, her figure unusually thin, yet strangely composed. Her eyelids drooped slightly, her long lashes casting a small shadow across her pale face. The entire din in the hall—the desperate cries, the frantic clacking of keyboards, the piercing alarms—was at that moment blocked out by an invisible barrier, as distant as from another world.

She could clearly sense the dormant behemoth within her, completely enraged by the "undercurrent," this invading energy filled with hostility and a desire for destruction. It wasn't simply anger, but rather a cold and pure will for destruction rising from the depths of a supreme being's soul when provoked and desecrated by a lowly ant.

"Eight...seven..."

Every tick of the countdown was like a hammer hitting everyone's nerves. Some slumped in their seats, others hammered away at their keyboards in vain, an air of despair permeating the air.

An indescribable throbbing, deep within her soul, began to awaken within her. It felt like a dormant volcano awakening, molten lava accumulating for eons roaring and surging from its core. Countless tiny, invisible blue dots, as if summoned by some unknown force, gathered silently from the air around her, from beneath the cold alloy floorboards, even from the depths of the whirring server cabinets. Like fireflies returning to their nest, they silently merged into her body.

An invisible energy field suddenly expanded from her! The scattered documents on the podium were blown away, and Su Wan's long hair moved without wind, floating upward in strands. The ends of her hair flickered with subtle but undeniable arcs of dark blue electricity. She slowly raised her head. Her eyes, usually clear as water, were now devoid of all human emotion, leaving only an inhuman, absolute rationality, as if looking down on an ant. Deep within her pupils, it seemed as if billions of stars were rapidly rotating, emerging and disappearing!

"Data torrent..." A cold, emotionless voice uttered from Su Wan's mouth, but it clearly penetrated all the alarms and was imprinted deep in everyone's consciousness. "...activate."
