Boom boom boom boom——!!
Deafening explosions ripped wildly around the vehicle! The left side, closest to the blast point, sent a violent shockwave slamming into the side of the vehicle, pushing the vehicle, which had just spun sideways, back violently! The vehicle lurched and swayed violently like a sampan caught in the waves! The cracks in the bulletproof glass instantly widened and spread, emitting a heartbreaking groan. A hideous gash was torn in the left armor plate, sending a scorching blast of air and shrapnel mixed with mud and water pouring into the vehicle!
"Ugh!" Hook groaned as a hot piece of shrapnel grazed his arm, leaving a trail of blood! From the rear compartment came the painful coughs and curses of the other team members.
The smoke thickened, blurring the view. But Wrench roared, forcing himself to steady the deflected muzzle. Flames erupted again, madly sweeping towards the assault shuttle to the right, which had just fired a missile and was trying to close the distance! The electromagnetic projectile gouged the enemy vehicle, creating a series of dazzling sparks!
"Leah! Interference! Full band! Maximum power!" I roared, trying my best to stabilize the out-of-control car body, stepped on the accelerator to the bottom, and the armored vehicle rushed forward madly among the mud waves and craters caused by the explosion like a wounded bull!
Leah's fingers faded into shadows on the tactical terminal. Veins bulged on her forehead, and the wound on her shoulder ruptured again from the violent movement, staining half her shoulder red with blood. "Jamming flares launched! Full-band jamming! Activate!" She slammed the last virtual button!
On either side of the vehicle's roof, two sets of multi-barrel jammer launchers suddenly popped out! Bang, bang, bang, bang! Dozens of special projectiles, trailing long strips of foil and electromagnetic interference clouds, instantly launched into the surrounding airspace, exploding into vast, expanding silver-gray interference clouds! At the same time, a low, teeth-grinding hum emanated from within the vehicle. Invisible, powerful electromagnetic pulses, centered on the armored vehicle, violently spread in all directions!
Buzz——!
The three pursuing assault shuttles were struck by a giant, invisible hand! Their bodies jerked to a halt, their speed plummeting! The energy shield generators on their hulls erupted with chaotic arcs of electricity, crackling with clatter! The dense stream of data on the windshield vanished in an instant, leaving only a flicker of snowflakes and a glaring red warning bar! Their fire control systems, communications systems, and even some thrusters were instantly paralyzed by the intense electromagnetic storm! Like venomous snakes with their fangs removed, they spun and collided in vain!
"The jamming worked! They're blind!" Hook roared excitedly. Ignoring his injured arm, he raised his energy rifle and fired at one of the out-of-control, rambling assault shuttles! The high-energy beams burned deep, charred pits into the enemy's armor, which had lost its shield!
"Go ahead! Don't stop!" I seized this fleeting opportunity and drove the battered armored vehicle like a wild horse, rushing through the three temporarily paralyzed assault shuttles! Mud mixed with burning debris splashed all over the car windows.
However, this respite was as short as an illusion!
"Warning! High-energy response! Air units! Approaching at high speed!" On Leah's terminal screen, several crimson points of light were swooping down from the high-altitude rain clouds, far exceeding the speed of ground vehicles! The shrill alarm sounded like a death warrant!
"It's the Razor attack drones!" Leah's voice trembled with despair. "They're immune to strong low-altitude electromagnetic interference! They've locked onto us!"
Before he could finish his words, a sharp, ghostly sound of piercing the air descended overhead! Four ferocious "Razor" drones, resembling giant metal mantises, tore through the thick rain curtain, swooping down with a breath of death! The tiny missile pods hanging on either side of their slender fuselages instantly opened, and the twin energy cannons beneath their bellies began charging. The glaring red light shone like a demon's eye in the rain!
"Everyone! High alert! Air defense!" My roar was drowned out by the sharp buzzing sound of energy weapons charging!
The true climax of the raging waves had just arrived at this moment! The shadow of death was colder and more suffocating than this torrential rain!
The swarm of "Razor" drones, like cold metallic vultures, tore through the rain and swooped down. The glaring red light from the twin energy cannons beneath their bellies instantly locked onto the battered armored vehicle! The sharp, piercing hum of charging energy, like the sound of the Grim Reaper sharpening his scythe, drowned out the roar of the wind and rain!
"Evasion! S-maneuver!" I screamed, nearly snapping the steering wheel! The heavy armored vehicle swung wildly from side to side on the muddy, abandoned road, its tires kicking up waves of muddy mud. Every sharp turn made the vehicle groan under the weight, the cracks in the side armor widening amid the wail of metal fatigue. Cold rain, mingled with the smell of gunpowder, poured relentlessly into the vehicle.
Chichichi--!
Dazzling crimson energy beams whizzed past the roof and sides of the car like scorching whips! One beam grazed the upper right rear of the car. With a "puff," a thick plate of armor instantly melted through, buckled, and fell away like butter cut by a hot knife! Scorching metal droplets splattered, sizzling in the cold rain, and billowing white smoke. Another beam struck the road a few meters to the left, creating a charred crater. Mud and gravel mixed with rubble splattered against the windshield like cannonballs, and the dense impact sounded like hail!
"Damn it! Shoot them down!" Wrench roared, attempting to raise the muzzle of his heavy Stormbringer minigun, aiming at the drones swooping down at low altitude and speed, their trajectories as elusive as ghosts. But the armored vehicle's violent jolts and swaying made steady aim impossible. The thick ammunition belts swept through the air in vain, leaving only fleeting traces in the gray rain.
Hook gritted his teeth, leaning as far out of the firing port as possible, firing continuously from his energy rifle. Several high-energy beams narrowly grazed a drone's wing, leaving charred marks on its surface but failing to cause fatal damage. These "Razors" were incredibly maneuverable, their instantaneous warp after each bombardment defying common physics, as if they were flashing through space!
