Huan Di knew about Wang Jizu and Wang Daxing's scheme. But with the mindset of "it's none of my business," she didn't tell anyone.
Now that her daughter is in trouble, she can't find anyone to help her. She has no choice but to beg Ye Yunniang for help.
Ye Yunniang was not the type to repay evil with kindness, so she refused outright.
"I told you the news, why didn't you help me?" Huan Di, abandoning her previous gentleness, questioned sharply.
"Why won't you help me?" Ye Yunniang retorted.
"Wang Daxing will beat me to death." Huandi shook her head; she was too scared to do it.
Huan Di reached out and grabbed Ye Yun Niang's clothes again.
“Now I’m telling you, you can send him and everyone behind him to jail. You won’t be threatened anymore.”
“You don’t need to tell me, we’ve already found out that Wang Jizu was involved.” Tie Xiong’s voice rang out from behind.
Huan Di jumped up and ran away quickly.
"Don't worry, sister-in-law. None of those who hurt you will escape," Tie Xiong assured Ye Yunniang.
"Is Wang Damei really suited for a ghost marriage?" Ye Yunniang had experienced it herself and knew how terrifying it was. She didn't want a 5-year-old child to experience it.
"Lord Bao has issued an order that ghost marriages are not allowed in Jiangcheng." Tie Xiong reassured Ye Yunniang that he would not let anything happen to Wang Damei.
Ye Yunniang trusted Tiexiong and didn't worry about Wang Damei, so she went to the market.
Upon arriving at the market, Ye Yunniang selected and bought some local mountain products, and finally went to the pastry shop.
The best-selling item at the market's pastry shop is red bean cake. Everyone in my family, adults and children alike, loves it.
I queued up and bought two jin (1 kg).
It was noon, and Ye Yunniang was a little hungry.
We sat down at the tea stall next door, ordered a cup of hot tea and some red bean cake.
While I was eating, I saw someone I knew walking over.
Bai Yurong, Li Mingshu, and Jiang Mingyue did not bring their children to sit down at the tea stall.
"Waiter, bring me some tea quickly. I'm dying of thirst," Li Mingshu urged.
Ye Yunniang lowered her head and ate red bean cake.
After drinking a cup of tea to quench his thirst, Li Mingshu looked at Bai Yurong and asked, "Mother, does the old man really have no money left?"
Li Mingshu didn't believe what Grandpa Jiang said.
"I'll take Yi'er with me tomorrow and go again." Bai Yurong didn't believe that Old Master Jiang had no money at all. She thought that the treasure Old Master Jiang possessed must have been hidden away by Aunt Xue.
"What if he really has no money?" Jiang Mingyue said without much hope.
"Pah, pah, pah, that's impossible." Li Mingshu refused to believe it. He didn't want to live a life without money.
“The old man must have hidden it.” Jiang Mingyue changed her mind. “Besides, my second brother is still missing. He must have even more.”
Bai Yurong and Li Mingshu agreed with Jiang Mingyue's words. They had lived in the Jiang family for many years and knew that Jiang Mingzhe was the wealthiest member of the family.
“Our relationship with Second Brother is just so-so.” Li Mingshu felt that it wouldn’t be easy to get money out of Jiang Mingzhe.
Speaking of Jiang Mingzhe, one is reminded of Jiang Mingrui.
"That idiot Fourth Brother," Jiang Mingyue complained, clearly looking down on Jiang Mingrui.
“After the elopement, Second Master must hate Jiang Mingrui. If you, as his wives, can maintain a good relationship with him now…” Bai Yurong didn’t finish her sentence.
Jiang Mingyue and Li Mingshu weren't fools; their eyes burned with desire as they thought of the treasure Jiang Mingzhe had given to Jiang Mingrui.
"Where should we look for Second Brother?" Li Mingshu's question plunged his burning heart into ice water.
“We don’t need to go looking for him, we’ll just wait for Second Master to come,” Bai Yurong said confidently.
"Why would Second Brother come looking for us?" Jiang Mingyue asked incredulously.
“Jiang Mingzhe has a woman who bore him a child.” Bai Yurong’s words made Ye Yunniang grip the red bean cake in her hand tighter.
"Second Brother has an heir!" Jiang Mingyue exclaimed in shock. Li Mingshu was so shocked that he choked on his tea.
"Mother, is your information reliable?"
“If Chunyao said it herself, how could it be false?”
Ye Yunniang crushed the red bean cake in her hand.
I can't believe it, why her?
"Who is Chunyao?" Jiang Mingyue and Li Mingshu did not recognize her.
"Who Chunyao is is not important. What is important is that Chunyao's man is Chef Jin, who is Second Master's confidant."
Jiang Mingyue and Li Mingshu both knew who Chef Jin was, and they believed Bai Yurong's words.
"Who gave birth to my second brother's child?" Jiang Mingyue asked curiously.
"I don't know. Chunyao didn't say, only that Second Master has a child. She told her family to come to Jiangcheng." Bai Yurong told what she knew.
"Does Mother know Chunyao's family?"
“Chunyao’s third sister-in-law is my cousin. She told me this herself.”
“No wonder Mother delayed her return to the mountain city.” Li Mingshu understood.
"I'm going to find Chunyao now," Jiang Mingyue said anxiously.
"Mingyue, don't rush." Li Mingshu pulled Jiang Mingyue back.
"How could I not be anxious? That's my nephew, as his aunt, I have to go and see him." While the child is still young, I need to win his heart. In the future, wealth and glory will be mine.
"We can't recognize each other now, and we have to pretend we don't know anything about each other."
We need to befriend Chunyao and Chef Jin to find the woman and child Second Master is hiding and gain their trust.
"Too much trouble." Jiang Mingyue frowned.
"Mingyue, Second Master isn't a fool." Bai Yurong's words reminded Jiang Mingyue that doing this would only anger Jiang Mingzhe.
Jiang Mingyue thought about Jiang Mingzhe's intelligence and realized that what she had done was inappropriate.
The three sat down and discussed how to get in touch with Ye Yunniang through Chunyao.
Ye Yunniang silently finished eating the red bean cake and drinking the tea before leaving.
When they got home, Chunyao was waiting at the door.
"Yunniang, you're back from buying groceries."
"Hmm, Sister Chunyao, I haven't seen you for the past few days. Where have you been?" Ye Yunniang greeted Chunyao with a smile.
"It's almost Chinese New Year, I'm going back to my parents' house for a couple of days. My mom makes sausages, they're fragrant and spicy, and go really well with rice. You should try some." Chunyao said, handing the six sausages she was carrying to Ye Yunniang.
"That's too much, I can't accept it," Ye Yunniang declined. Chunyao had more than a pound of sausages in her hand.
"Jin Dou and I ate a whole bowl of those crispy fried fish you made before. You have to take this sausage." Chun Yao stuffed it into Ye Yun Niang's basket without saying another word.
“This is different; you helped fry the crispy fish.” Ye Yunniang was about to hand it to Chunyao.
"Take it. I just got back, and I have things to do at home, so I'll be going now." Chunyao walked quickly home.
Ye Yunniang watched Chunyao walk away, then looked at the sausages in the basket, sighed, and walked into the courtyard.
When I got home, I took out the items I bought from the basket, and took half a pound of red bean cake to the Xu family.
She took her three children home.
"Mom, your hand is injured, I'll cook."
