10 · Chapter 10

Messiah saw the familiar brutality in Superman's eyes.

The Son of Tomorrow only floated up briefly, while Superman continued to fall.

In order to isolate Superman's super hearing, the government cooperated with a villain named Mirror Master who could manipulate the mirror space and locked Superman's parents in a special space that only existed in the mirror.

"Either give up control of the Earth or lose your parents."

This was a threat from the government to Superman and the Justice League, but this threat stimulated Superman, causing the Son of Tomorrow, who had briefly risen, to fall rapidly.

What a coincidence, what a mistake.

Superman took another communicator, and after a brief exchange with the Justice League through the communicator, he rushed into the sky with the Messiah.

A scarlet red cloak and golden light flashed across the ocean.

Messiah thought that the thing he did most these days was probably flying quickly in the sky with Superman.

The Justice League collectively went out to search the world, and finally the Flash captured Mirror Master, and cooperated with Wonder Woman to interrogate the whereabouts of Superman's parents.

Superman rushed into the mirror space with Messiah.

In the mirror space, a group of heavily armed soldiers were guarding Jonathan and Martha. Jonathan and Martha snuggled together, holding each other's hands tightly.

The donated blood dripped to the ground, and blood was still flowing on Jonathan's forehead. It was the injury he suffered during the resistance. No one had bandaged him until now. Only Martha made a simple bandage for him with her sleeve.

This was the scene Superman saw when he fell from the sky, with blood stinging his eyes red.

The God of the world vows to make those who hurt others pay the price.

The soldiers' faces changed drastically when they saw Superman. Some of them aimed their guns at Superman, and some put their guns to the temples of Jonathan and Martha.

This is a meaningless resistance. Bullets cannot break the steel body of the God on Earth. The mortal relatives of the God on Earth will indeed be hurt by the bullets, but this will only anger the God on Earth.

In just a moment, the hot eyes swept across the group of soldiers mercilessly, and blood stained the ground red.

The mirrored space was stained red with blood and corpses. Jonathan and Martha looked at the scene with blank expressions, unable to believe that this was caused by their son.

"Clark..." Martha called her son's name, "Did you kill someone...?"

She didn't know what to say, their son had killed someone to save them, but that wasn't right.

From the destruction of Metropolis, to seeing their son announce on TV that the Justice League was taking over the world, to witnessing his son slaughter ordinary soldiers...

Everything is messed up, all chaos.

Messiah tilted his head, his attention not on Superman but on the dead soldiers.

One person is not dead yet.

Messiah didn't know whether this was an accident or Superman's intention. He only felt Superman gently push his shoulder and whisper in his ear:

"Help me, Messiah."

There was a hint of pleading in the tone of the God on Earth, but it seemed that the pleading was only superficial.

Messiah nodded calmly. He didn't think there was anything wrong with taking a life, so he easily agreed to Superman's request: "Okay."

Even though Superman once told him to cherish life, even though Superman said not to kill, even though Superman said no one could ask him to do anything.

Messiah clearly realized that the Superman who gently reminded him, "No one can force you to do anything, not even me," would never come back.

Mimicking Superman's movements, Messiah modified his own reality, his eyes condensing into heat vision, mercilessly piercing the brain of the only soldier still breathing.

The blood spread again, but Superman and Messiah, who were suspended in the sky, were not stained.

"Messiah, what are you doing?"

Messiah heard Superman's surprised voice - "Why did you kill..."

Superman stopped mid-sentence, realizing that the Messiah had misunderstood him.

The soldier was indeed left behind by Superman on purpose, but he left him behind just to negotiate with the government. The soldier would be the evidence that the government kidnapped his parents.

Superman asked Messiah to help him, actually he wanted to ask Messiah if he could change the reality of Jonathan's injury and heal Jonathan's wound.

He hadn't expected the Messiah to understand it this way.

Why?

Superman wanted to ask Messiah why, but when he saw Messiah's confused eyes, he stopped talking.

The Messiah killed people for him, isn't this the wholehearted support he wants?

Superman suppressed the inexplicable uneasiness in his heart, smiled at Messiah, and said in an encouraging tone: "Well done, Messiah."

He praised Messiah with a sincere and solemn tone: "Good boy, you killed the enemy for me, I will always be proud of you."

After receiving Superman's praise, Messiah was more convinced that what he was doing was right.

"It's okay." Messiah shook his head gently, his golden eyes gazing calmly at Superman. "That's right."

Superman's eyes were filled with a smile. He repeated the Messiah's words, and the uneasiness in his heart completely disappeared. He said with almost joy, "Yes, that's correct."

He chose me, the Messiah chose me.

Superman happily landed next to Jonathan and Martha with Messiah, not noticing the thoughtful expression on Messiah's face.

After receiving Superman's response, Messiah completely confirmed one thing -

"Superman" disappeared forever, and that afternoon on the rooftop of Lexar Building was the last time he saw "Superman".

Jonathan looked at Superman and Messiah in astonishment, and asked in disbelief, "Clark, you let a child kill someone?"

He hadn't thought that this would be his first words to his son who came to his rescue, but it was exactly what happened.

Martha's face was almost pale. She had thought that after seeing her son, they would have a hug after surviving the disaster, but she didn't expect it to turn out like this.

"I didn't." Superman was equally incredulous. He was almost blinded by the looks on Jonathan and Martha's faces. He argued eagerly, "The Messiah chose it himself. He knew I was right, so he helped me!"

Why is Batman like this, Jor-El is like this, and Jonathan and Martha are like this too!

They were the people closest to him, he thought they would understand him!

Superman wanted to say something else, but when he touched Jonathan's still bleeding wound, he took a deep breath and suppressed those arguments that were almost questioning.

"Messiah." Superman called Messiah's name softly. He knew that this quarrel would not affect Messiah, and Messiah would always stand by his side. "Can you heal Jonathan?"

"It's about modifying the reality of Jonathan's injury."

Messiah's eyes touched the wound on Jonathan's forehead, and when he met Jonathan's gentle eyes full of apology, he quickly retracted his gaze.

He thought of the kitten's remains turned to dust.

"No." Messiah shook his head. "There are restrictions."

He can only destroy, not save, so he has no ability to heal Jonathan.

Superman also remembered that the Messiah said that his abilities had limits, and regretfully retracted his idea.

He understood that the Messiah's power was limited, meaning that the upper limit was limited and it could only change reality in a small range.

At this moment, Superman had no idea that there would be such a huge gap in understanding between him and the Messiah.

By the time he realizes it one day in the future, it will be too late.

Superman flew Jonathan and Martha back to the Fortress of Solitude and used the Kryptonian medical cabin to heal Jonathan's wounds.

"You should stay in the Fortress of Solitude from now on. Don't go back to Smallville." Superman said almost forcefully, "It's safe here. No one will come to hurt you anymore."

Superman pretended not to notice Jonathan and Martha's hesitation to speak, and quickly left the Fortress of Solitude with Messiah and Lex.

He didn't want to hear any more opposition; one day, he would prove himself right.

—To Batman, to Jonathan and Martha.

In the boundless black universe, there is a starry sky made up of many planets. The watchtower floats quietly in the space, looking at the blue planet beyond the clouds.

Watchtower, a satellite built by members of the Justice League, is the Justice League's headquarters in space.

Superman strode out of the Zeta tunnel that teleported from Earth to the Watchtower, followed by Messiah and Lex.

Messiah looked around curiously.

Looking out from a transparent window of the observation tower, you can see the earth.

Messiah stopped at the window and looked at the earth. The blue planet was so huge that the metropolis was just a tiny microcosm of it.

Even though the metropolis was destroyed just three days ago, it did not affect the tranquility of the planet at all, and it continued to revolve around the sun regularly.

To the Earth, the metropolis is so small. But to the superman who can rule the Earth, the metropolis is everything.

Messiah gazed quietly at the blue planet, his calm heart rippled, and he seemed to have realized something.

In the hall, the members of the Justice League who had gathered for Superman had obviously been waiting for a long time. After seeing Superman, they came up one after another and began to talk about him with concern.

This was the first time Messiah met the Justice League. Among all the people present, apart from Superman and Lex who were traveling with him, he only knew Wonder Woman.

Messiah noticed that Batman, advisor to the Justice League and close friend of Superman, was not present.

Why isn't Batman here?

Messiah tilted his head in confusion. He thought Batman and Superman had the best relationship, so why was Batman, who should be there, not here?

"Where's Batman?"

Messiah naturally asks his question: "Why isn't Batman here?"

The Watchtower Hall fell silent for a moment, and no one answered Messiah's question.

The Flash, who originally wanted to come over and say hello to Messiah, stopped, but because his speed was too fast, he was already in front of Messiah when he stopped.

——The Flash, one of the original members of the Justice League, a superhero from Central City, a speedster with the "Speed Force", and the fastest man on earth.

"Uh..." The Flash was stuck. He looked at the Messiah who was talking about something irrelevant, and for a moment he didn't know how to respond. "You mean Bat? He, he..."

The Flash wailed in his heart, wondering why he had to be so fast, why he had to come over and say hello now.

How do I explain this?

Looking at the Messiah's clear and stupid big eyes, the Flash couldn't bring himself to tell the truth. He couldn't possibly tell the kid, "Hey, Batman and we haven't been on the same team for a long time. We've broken up," right?

If Messiah asked him what the reason for their breakup was, what would he say? He couldn't just say Batman was worried about them taking over the world...

The Flash actually has doubts about the Justice League's decision, and he also thinks Batman's concerns are somewhat reasonable, but he also lost his relatives and proud assistants in the nuclear explosion in Metropolis.

Superman's proposal was so appealing that he couldn't help but imagine a beautiful future where peace reigned throughout the world.

The Flash hesitated for a few words. Even if he used his speedster brain to think at full speed, he couldn't make any sense for a while.

Fortunately, Superman noticed their conversation.

A large hand placed itself on Messiah's shoulder, and Superman floated over.

"Batman betrayed me and the Justice League." Superman said in an understated tone, "He is an enemy, of course he will not appear in the Watchtower."

"enemy……?"

Messiah was confused by this.

"Yes, the enemy."

Superman replied.
