A few days later, Jenna arrived at a city on the border of Black Rock, which led to the Red Gravel City in Krancia in the south.
But soon after she entered the city, she was suddenly surrounded, and then a large group of mercenaries rushed up, with spears like a forest, attacking from the front and back in the narrow streets.
Seeing that the situation was not good, she had to use some super skills to escape from the city, but she was seriously injured.
"This is not good."
On the mountain path, Jenna was leaning on her horse, one of her arms seemed to be broken and drooping. She tried a little but was interrupted by the pain.
Just as she was rummaging through the package for the medicine, a burst of hurried horse hooves sounded from behind, like a bell urging death.
She struggled to stand up again, pulled the horse under her, and fled towards the border.
After turning a corner, she jumped off the horse and went straight into the forest, letting the horse continue to gallop along the mountain road, attracting the pursuers behind, while she headed in another direction under the cover of the woods.
The mountain road was rugged and the ground was covered with fallen leaves. Sometimes, there were stones that hurt your feet that you couldn't even feel until you stepped on them. Jenna stumbled all the way through the hills and forests for 7-8 miles, and it was getting dark.
The towering trees with lush branches and leaves blocked the moon in the sky. During the day, a little sunlight still penetrated the forest, but at night it was pitch black.
Before she could see what was happening, she missed a step and fell down the hillside. Her body hit the tree trunk and she wanted to scream in pain. She kept rolling and tumbling, with various collisions along the way. The pain filled her brain, and finally her head hit a tree trunk, and she lost consciousness and passed out.
........
........
It seemed like a very long time had passed before Jenna finally woke up.
A strange tent roof.
Where is this? Who am I? She turned her head in confusion, taking in her surroundings.
Now I remember, I'm Jenna, a resident of the Black Rock Principality and a sophomore at Emenas. On my way back to school, I had a conflict with the Halberd Faction, and was then chased to the border, where I fell down the hillside.
This is a tent. There are not many things inside. It seems to be a temporary structure. There are also the sounds of several people talking outside.
Jenna tried to move, but found her arm already bandaged and the wound treated. It looked like some herbalist's treatment, not some extraordinary potion or priest's.
Come to think of it, how could there be a priest and precious extraordinary potions in the wilderness?
It seems that I was rescued by someone. I have to thank him very much, but I still have to leave quickly. If the pursuers come, it will be bad if this group of people are implicated.
She tried to get up again, but still couldn't, so she called out, "Hello, is anyone there?"
The voice was not loud, as if he was not used to it, and there was a hint of uneasiness in it.
After a while, the tent curtain was pulled open, and a girl of about her age walked in. The girl had light brown skin, wore woven linen clothes, and had long, thin braids by her ears.
"Hello, are you awake?"
"Hello, where are you?" Jenna looked at the strange girl.
"This is the Lake Caravan. We found you on the roadside in the mountains. You are lucky. If we had arrived two days later, you might have been eaten by the big bad wolf." The girl gestured with her hands beside her face, showing a humorous expression.
"Thank you." Jenna said gratefully.
"Would you like to eat something? You've been sleeping for almost two days," said the light brown girl.
Only then did Jenna realize how hungry she was and nodded.
"Okay, wait a moment."
"Um."
Seeing the girl about to leave the tent, Jenna asked again: "What's your name? My name is Jenna."
"Just call me Sophie." The girl turned around and smiled at Jenna, then walked out of the tent.
Sophie? With that name in mind, Jenna lifted her slightly intact right hand and looked at the bandage tied on it. There was a small bow tied at the end, which seemed to be the work of some girl.
Not long after, the tent door was pushed open.
"There's still some porridge left from this morning, so I'll heat it up. It's better for you to eat something softer since you just woke up."
Sophie walked into the tent again, holding a clay pot in her arms.
She first put the clay pot aside, then helped Jenna up and put the clay pot in front of her.
"Just eat it like this. There's a spoon inside. It's best to finish it so I can wash the jar directly." She said so, then sat down next to Jenna and held the pottery jar in place.
Jenna looked at the crimson earthenware pot, which contained porridge made from white and light yellow wheat grains, with scattered vegetable leaves floating in it, and a long spoon with a wooden handle placed next to it.
She picked up the spoon, scooped some and put it in her mouth. The wheat grains were soft and glutinous, with a hint of sweetness, and not bad at all.
"Is it delicious?" Sophie looked at Jenna with her black eyes.
"It tastes delicious and seems to be sweet?" Jenna asked curiously. Sugar is not a cheap thing.
"Yes, I added some extra sugar so it tastes much better."
....
"Ah, don't make that expression. Actually, our caravan isn't very rich, but we met a kind lady a while ago who gave us a lot of candy and sweets for free. Otherwise, I wouldn't have done such an extravagant thing."
...
"My aunt once told me that injured and sick people are more sensitive and afraid of being abandoned, so they need to be more careful and kind." While Jenna was eating porridge, Sophie talked about some small things in the caravan to make the atmosphere less awkward, and also made Jenna feel a different kind of care and warmth.
