Ceres paused for a moment, then moved sideways, allowing Loran Hill to appear in front of the woman.
"This is Miss Lacy, Lord Angus's daughter. She wants to visit you. Is that okay with you?"
"Okay, okay, please wait a moment, the room is too messy." The woman's voice sounded a little panicked.
After waiting for a while, Loran Hill was welcomed into the house, and a cool breeze hit him in the face.
The curtains were mostly drawn, so the lighting was a bit poor. Considering it was summer, it was normal to be afraid of the heat. The house was relatively dry and cool, and it was very quiet at noon, with only the occasional sound of the pendulum in the hall.
The pendulum of the mahogany and brass floor clock is placed against the wall in the middle of the hall. It is covered with a thick layer of dust. In the quiet room, some dust can be seen floating slowly in the sunlight filtering through the gaps in the curtains.
Mrs. Mela poured two cups of cold water from the porcelain pot next to her and placed them on the table. There was some dust on the lid of the porcelain pot, but fortunately the water inside was still clean. It should have been prepared yesterday or this morning.
Loran Hill looked at the lady in a black long dress. Her face was a little pale, and she had no ornaments on her body. There were faint wrinkles on her forehead. She was only in her thirties, but she looked old-fashioned. Loran Hill looked at her uneasily and nervously.
"I'm very sorry, Madam Meera, I have some unfortunate news to tell you today. Angusda was attacked on his way back home some time ago and has left us forever."
As the girl finished her words, the lady's hand shook and she knocked over the teacup next to her. Then, a crisp sound was heard as the teacup shattered to the ground.
