Chapter Five
Postscript: The end is the beginning.
1. Two months after the incident, all was calm as before. The crisp autumn air of the south seemed to have been skipped, and winter arrived without warning.
Overnight, people all changed into long sleeves or smocks.
The pine trees along the downhill slope were covered with a sense of aging and vicissitude, not as green as they were when the summer sun shone.
In the south, the cold air always arrives suddenly at night, and when you wake up in the morning, you are always surprised to find that the breath of winter has already filled the world.
There won't be the heavy snow of the north here, but there will be the same symbolic cold wind.
The wind whistled in through the gaps in the not-quite-closed window, bringing a signal of cold from outside.
It was 8:20. When Lin Yue woke up and got out of bed, Uncle Bin and Sister Sang had already gone to class.
Teachers usually get up earlier than students and arrive at the classroom earlier. But even if they didn't get up early, they were still much earlier than Lin Yue.
That's right, he skipped the first class as usual in order to sleep in. Even though it was Sister Sang's class, he showed no mercy.
After washing up, Lin Yue, as always, wore a short-sleeved pure white school uniform shirt, covered with a dark blue leather jacket, and paired with pure black slim-fit trousers. He casually put on his unique dark blue newsboy cap and went out to feel the almost winter chill in this simple outfit suitable for autumn.
The path connecting the teachers' dormitory to the teaching building is not very long; he can reach it in ten minutes by walking at a leisurely pace.
Halfway there, it was now 8:35. Lin Yue calculated the time so that he could arrive at the classroom during the break between the end of the first class and the beginning of the second class.
Although he intended to walk at a leisurely pace, he unconsciously quickened his pace. He then walked to the foot of the teaching building, his breath visible in the air.
He entered the building just as the school bell rang. Several students poured out of the classrooms like beads of water spilling from a plate. He watched them as he walked towards the stairs.
Upon entering the classroom, I found the atmosphere to be pleasant; the chaotic state of the past, which resembled a gathering place for hooligans, had long since vanished.
Is this the old Class C? He almost wanted to go out and check the class sign again to make sure he hadn't gone into the wrong classroom.
"You missed the first class again. Sister Sang is furious." Lan Xi put the chemistry textbook she used in the last class into her desk drawer and took out the English book she would use in the next class.
She thought Lin Yue would make up some lame excuses like he did a few days ago when summer was still in the air, but she didn't expect him to not respond at all today.
“He shouldn’t be here…” She guessed he must have been tired from rushing to class.
Or perhaps, they're still half asleep?
After sitting down, Lin Yue took out his English book and pen and placed them on the table. Then he checked the news on his phone before class started.
Holy Cross College places greater emphasis on international standards than other schools, with a strong focus on foreign language instruction. As a result, students complete all of the senior year's English curriculum by their first year and begin studying advanced English, including English translation, English speech, and English literature, starting in their second year. In terms of sophomore year, its level of education is among the best in the country.
The English teacher for Class C was replaced by a female foreign teacher. She was blonde, blue-eyed, tall, had a sweet voice, used a variety of teaching methods, and even spoke fluent Chinese. Her words and actions captivated a group of male students.
It even holds a certain status in discussions among female students.
He is the perfect teacher for high school students.
From the first day of her class, she told her students not to call her "teacher," but to address her as "Rose" like a friend.
Lanxi thinks Rose looks a lot like the American singer Taylor Swift.
Rose is not only an idol-like teacher, but also a highly capable teacher, and she is also very emotional.
When she talks about Shakespeare, sonnets, or Romeo and Juliet, her teaching style becomes gentle and tender or passionate and unrestrained, immersing the whole class in a romantic sea of flowers.
When she spoke of "Gone with the Wind," her voice was low and trembling, and she would sometimes burst into tears. When she spoke of Yeats' "When You Are Old," she expressed deep regret and sorrow for the poet's unrequited love.
They would sometimes discuss movies after class and take time to play classic movie clips such as "Waterloo Bridge" and "Casablanca".
Most students don't understand; they just blindly follow the teacher's instructions. Most of them only look at whether the characters in the movie are handsome or beautiful, just like five or six-year-old children who, even if they don't understand Tang poems, will still silently read them.
“Heneverfeltawound,yetlaughsatmyscars.Butsoft!
What lightthroughyonder(overthere)windowbreaks?

Only those who have never been hurt would mock the scars on others. Be gentle! What's that light shining from that window over there?
That is the East, and Juliet is the sun! Rise, beautiful sun! Drive away the jealous moon, who is already pale with anger because her apprentice is far more beautiful than her…
In class, Lin Yue read aloud the dialogue of Romeo, the male protagonist, from "Romeo and Juliet." Clear pronunciation was merely a comment on his English proficiency; his expressive delivery was a true compliment. It was as if the person opposite him was indeed his Juliet.
