Her father lay there in a pool of blood. This was a scene Freya witnessed firsthand; it wasn't a dream or a hallucination, there was no mistake. At the time, Philsa didn't offer much explanation, and simply left without a word.
Why do this?
"It was a rampage of demonic blood. I lost control and... I'm sorry."
"Impossible!" she screamed. "You were perfectly lucid! You did it on purpose!"
Kelin pulled the excited Freya along.
His rampage with demonic blood would indeed cause him to lose control.
Recently, he has gradually learned the technique to control his berserk state, so that he doesn't have to wait until his magic power is exhausted before he can stop.
But what exactly caused him to lose control?
This is also Freya's question.
"I am so sorry. It was I who stabbed His Highness Ireland with my own hands. I am so glad to hear that he is alright now."
Freya glared at him, ignoring his meaningless remark.
“There must be some misunderstanding.” Jelu comforted her, “Did His Highness say anything after he woke up?”
Freya shook her head: "My father was in a coma for more than a month before he woke up. He doesn't remember anything, except that someone stabbed him."
Jelu looked anxiously at Philsa, hoping he would explain.
However, he didn't say anything other than "I'm sorry".
After being persuaded by Kelling, Freya calmed down.
It is a fact that my father has recovered from his serious injuries and is safe and sound.
But what worried her was the recent events. "Actually, just recently... my father went missing."
Philsa raised her head slightly, and Jelu asked what was going on.
"Just three months ago, my father suddenly disappeared, leaving behind a letter entrusting the full authority of the Alchemist Guild to the vice president. He has not returned home since then."
"Perhaps he's been busy with work?"
"Father has temporarily relinquished his position," Freya denied, further expressing her concerns.
"Originally, the Alchemists' Guild was in a neutral camp on the continent, neither opposing nor conspiring with the King. However, recently, after the Vice President gained full authority, he wanted to take the opportunity to curry favor with the King."
This was already an inevitable trend, so there wasn't much of a problem... But could Father be involved in this?
"You mean His Highness has been kidnapped by the King, is that right?" Philsa asked.
At the same time, he found Freya's speech strange.
"Impossible." Freya denied it outright, but did not explain why.
"So you believe that someone other than Augustine framed Princess Ireland, is that right?"
“Possibly.” Freya was somewhat disgusted by Philsa’s questioning tone, but she had to admit that his analysis was correct, thinking that he was indeed a person with experience.
"You suspect that the vice president imprisoned His Highness in order to win him over as quickly as possible, hoping to take credit for it and become the president himself."
“That’s right. He knows that his father and the king don’t get along, since they are on opposing sides. The vice president, on the other hand, is eager to improve his relationship with the king.”
Most alchemists were engrossed in scholarship, preferring to spend their lives on experiments and books rather than getting involved in pointless disputes.
This is the main reason why they chose to remain in the neutral camp.
“It’s not that simple.” Philsa felt that Freya had something she hadn’t said… just like herself.
He also noted that neutral parties generally do not refer to Augustine as "King" directly, but rather as "King Augustine," "King of Starry Night," or "King of the Sun."
In the past, however, Yog would occasionally address Augustine as "King" in an attempt to curry favor.
"We will definitely help you get to the bottom of this!" This decision was made by Gelu, who also wanted to give Philsa a chance to make amends for the mistakes she had made in the past.
Freya looked at her with deep gratitude, unable to think of a proper way to express her thanks, and could only say repeatedly, "Thank you... thank you."
In this way, the four of them can be together.
Just as the two were about to continue discussing their future plans, Philsa stood up without a word.
"I'm sorry, I can't help you. I have to continue north; I can't delay any longer. I must find her as soon as possible."
Jielu felt that he was acting much more strangely today. Didn't they agree before that he wouldn't leave her and act alone?
They quickly forgot their promise.
So she said angrily, "Do you remember what you promised me today?"
“If you come with me, you will attract Wang Jun and be hunted down by Qun Ying. I don’t like to implicate others.”
"Wasn't it the same before?"
Freya felt bad when she saw the two arguing about something, so she tried to ease the tension.
Later, she said, "Our next destination is Olivitz, the Water City of the Flowing Moon. From here, we'll head north."
She also decided to find a time during this period to find out the real reason why he stabbed her father.
These words finally made the two of them stop.
Kelling couldn't get a word in edgewise, since he was meeting these two guests for the first time.
For some reason, perhaps because of their faction, he harbored hostility towards Felsa.
“There is a church in the Water City. The bishop there is familiar with my father and has been very kind to me. I want to go there first and ask the bishop if he can give me some advice.”
Philsa did not give a direct answer, but simply nodded slightly before taking his leave.
“I need to go to the jungle outside the city to find something first.” Then he whispered to Jelu alone, “I remember promising something, but you can rest assured now. As long as you are with your companions, you should be fine.”
