Chapter 568

After saying that, he left the guest room alone and walked along the corridor and the staircase.

3. The search yielded no results. A small amount of demonic energy did remain in the jungle, and it was confirmed to be the energy of the Wind Vortex; however, Sherry had vanished without a trace. Philsa's trip was in vain. Helpless, he had no choice but to return to Fallingwind City via the same route.

Lights were lit all around, revealing that it was already late at night, well past dinnertime. The noise had lessened somewhat, but it was still quite persistent.

After eating some dry rations, Philsa returned to the Alchemists' Guild and encountered a familiar presence in the main hall.

It was Kelling, who didn't seem very friendly. He had just come downstairs when he saw Philsa, so he went up to him and started a conversation.

"Even if Freya doesn't pursue the matter of your attack on Princess Ireland, I won't let you off easily. You'd better remember that."

Kelling, contrary to his usual calm demeanor, warned him in a threatening tone.

This was the first time he had ever seen anyone make Freya so angry that she looked like she was about to cry.

You must know that she has always been as strong and unyielding as a man. Anyone who makes a girl cry is absolutely unforgivable.

"None of your business." To everyone's surprise, he turned his face away, sneering, "You act all subservient in front of her, but become arrogant and domineering with anyone else?"

Running around for half a day to no avail made him unhappy, even quite upset, so he stopped holding back and spoke without any restraint.

Kaelin radiated anger. "If this weren't the guild, I'd love to duel you right now. That way, I could also return the sword that wounded His Highness!"

Nobles love to talk about duels, fair duels.

Firsa himself was unaware of how many treacherous plots and schemes the enemy had plotted against him.

Since his crushing defeat in the battle against the king, he lost his sight and his knightly honor, and struggles in the darkness.

Most of the opponents he had faced in the past were treacherous, such as the Midnight Slayer's Continuation Blade and Red Blade.

Therefore, he showed no fear whatsoever, regardless of whether the duel was fair or biased. "I'm ready anytime."

Kelling stared at Philsa, raised his fist and waved it in front of him: "But if I were to defeat you while you are blind, people would laugh at me for winning unfairly."

He remained unmoved and calmly said, "You are 175 centimeters tall and weigh 70 kilograms. Your weapons include a short sword for protection, a longbow and arrows on your back, and a crossbow hidden in your arm armor. Also, the leather armor you are wearing is no match for my ice sword."

"How...how did you know?" Kelling felt uncomfortable, as if his whole body could be seen through.

Philsa completely ignored his surprise; the magical touch had already astonished most people.

He recalled the battle last night and further speculated: "He is not good at close combat, or you could say that close combat is his weakness."

This was his assessment last night after he sensed that Kelin was at a complete disadvantage in less than three moves during her fight with Jelu.

“You’re an archer, yet you haven’t hit me a single time. I bet you have absolutely no experience shooting at moving targets. As for the foolish things you’re doing right now in front of me, there’s no need to describe them further.”

These words left him speechless; even Freya had never criticized him like this. "You talk a good game, but let's see how it goes in a duel!"

Since losing her sight, Felsa has never used a bow and arrow again, but she still vividly remembers her former companion, Sherry, using a bow and arrow.

He had never mentioned it to anyone, and in fact, Jelu didn't know either—Shirley was a "Wind Dancer," a profession that specializes in assisting companions. She knew how to use the soothing power of wind to heal, or to buff her companions with wind curtains to aid in combat, or the Wind Dancer herself used a bow and arrow for ranged interference.

Sherry is an excellent archer, hitting her target every time, and she also knows how to combine wind magic to create swarms of arrows to sweep away enemies.

Firsa once joked that she should just specialize in archery.

The two ended their conversation and left back to back. Philsa didn't care where Kelling would go, and not wanting to return to her bedroom anytime soon, she decided to take a walk in the back garden.

4. From after dinner until now, Jelu and Freya have been talking non-stop about their past experiences, such as exploring mysterious places together, searching for treasure together, encountering powerful magical enemies together, defeating them together, and completing their missions together.

Sometimes he laughs loudly, sometimes he whispers.

The girls "kicked" Kelin out of the room before they even started chatting.

The guild provided two double rooms for the four people, one for Freya and one for Kelling, and the other for Jelu and Felsa.

Jelu stayed in Freya's bedroom, catching up with her old friends and playing with the white baby dragon beside her.

Freya said that this mythical creature hatched from an egg and is now three months old.

She even joked that she treated it like her own precious treasure.

It was already late at night, so Jelu said goodbye and returned to her bedroom.

She realized that Philsa still hadn't returned. The bedroom was dark, which inevitably reminded her of the seven-petaled black lotus pattern she had seen earlier that day.

This symbol signifies tracking and assassination;

Even if others don't understand, she is very clear about the meaning of the pattern and the fate of encountering it.

She was terrified and was now certain she was being followed. They would definitely strike at the first opportunity;

Once they make their move, no one can stop them, not even Philsa...

The Lotus of Night Slayers. This name and its symbol constantly terrify Jelu.

This fear has never subsided since she left.

She hid in the room, afraid to turn on the light, watching the movements around her.
