Chapter Seventy-Five: Restoring Vitality
After the yellow paper was pierced by the peach wood sword, it turned into ashes, and then a huge black lightning bolt suddenly wrapped around the peach wood sword.
The peach wood sword, which was originally entangled in the sap of the man-eating tree, seemed to melt away as soon as the black lightning appeared.
Several hours have passed since I entered that giant gate, during which time Grandpa has been slowly recovering his strength, and he has recovered quite a bit by now.
Grandpa's expression turned serious, and he directly slashed the peach wood sword in his hand towards the vortex. The black lightning bolt, like a streak of lightning, shot straight towards the cave entrance.
At that moment, the green light returned to my body. As soon as it returned, my consciousness returned, and the jade pendant slowly drooped down after I regained consciousness.
At this moment, some changes also occurred in my body. A black quadrilateral mark appeared silently on my forehead, and my body seemed to be enveloped by a powerful force, as if I had been reborn.
Moreover, my hair, which was originally a buzz cut, now seems to have grown much longer.
Shui Yanling was startled by my change, because she suddenly sensed a strange energy on me, which was somewhat similar to the ghostly energy on her own body, but also different.
But there was no time to think too much; Grandpa's lightning bolt had already rushed into the vortex.
A deafening roar came from the vortex, and then the entire vortex seemed to be engulfed by the black lightning, with lightning flashing instantly.
The thing seemed to be injured by the lightning as well, constantly roaring so loudly that it seemed to shake the canyon to its core.
I heard this huge roar as soon as I woke up, and suddenly my face turned pale.
Just now, on that vast ocean, the moment that giant hand reached out, a voice told him not to resist. So he was directly grabbed by that giant hand and pulled into that black hole in the sky. From then on, he felt dizzy and disoriented, and then the giant hand simply threw him away.
The immense force made him feel somewhat uncomfortable, but he was no longer the same person he had been at the beginning, so he could completely withstand this level of pressure.
Then he felt as if he had passed through a door, and when he was fully awake, he was back in his own body.
But at this moment, something seemed to have changed. Grandpa was attacking the giant golden gate, as if he was stopping something. Shui Yanling was looking at me worriedly, afraid that something might have happened to me.
Seeing this scene before me, my heart sank. I sensed the surrounding atmosphere and discovered that an extremely violent aura was emanating from the golden gate, as if some ferocious beast was about to break free from it.
I quickly left the giant golden gate and stood in front of my grandfather, staring at the enormous vortex.
I know very well that the vortex is the same one I passed through when I entered and exited that door, but now that I'm out, the vortex hasn't closed; it continues to spin, as if something is trying to come out of it.
After this trip inside the gate, I've roughly guessed what's going on. This giant golden gate is a seal, directly sealing something inside. Or, more likely, this giant golden gate is a connection to the Ghost Realm.
Thinking this, my face grew even uglier. If my guess was correct, then once this gate was breached, it would be equivalent to directly connecting the human world and the ghost world. Just thinking about the boundless Yin soldiers made my scalp tingle.
"Grandpa, there's no time to go into details, but in short, we absolutely cannot let that thing come over, or something terrible will happen."
I straightened my expression and said to my grandfather.
Grandpa noticed that I looked different than before and had many questions in his mind, but he didn't have time to ask. When he heard what I said, his expression turned serious, and he pointed his peach wood sword at the golden gate, and another bolt of lightning shot out.
"Roar!" The ghostly thing inside seemed to be completely enraged by the repeated attacks, and suddenly it spewed out countless black arrow-like things from the vortex.
The arrow came straight at my grandfather and me, moving at incredible speed, and was already in front of us in an instant.
Grandpa seemed caught off guard by the sudden black arrow, and by the time he reacted, it was almost too late.
When Grandpa saw the arrow coming at him so fiercely, he hurriedly turned around to pull me away, but found that I was already reacting.
Seeing the black arrow rushing towards me, I don't know why, but I instinctively stretched out my hand and slammed it down in front of me.
Then something astonished Grandpa and Shui Yanling happened: the black arrow was completely reduced to ashes by my palm strike and scattered in the air.
"Little Shuang'er, you..." Grandpa was puzzled when he saw that I was able to destroy the arrow all by myself, but before he could ask, a huge pressure suddenly appeared in the canyon.
We quickly turned around and saw that a pair of giant claws had emerged from the black vortex, like some kind of ferocious beast. In an instant, a tremendous sense of oppression came from the vortex.
Seeing this, I knew something was wrong and quickly pulled my grandfather back a few steps.
As we retreated, we said to Yanling, "Quickly back away, get some distance!" Upon hearing this, Yanling immediately retreated with us. Just as we left our original spot, a brown liquid suddenly sprayed out from the vortex, completely covering the place where we had started standing.
