Chapter 53 Heading to the Infinite Train

Demon Slayer Corps Headquarters.

Just like in the original story, Kyojuro, Tanjiro, and the others received a mission related to the Mugen Train.

Of course, Tanjiro didn't specifically ask Chinatsu to come along, but in the original story, only Tanjiro's crow notified the three kids, which doesn't stop Chinatsu from including herself in the list.

My lord isn't stupid; he must have known about my situation all along. Since he didn't name names and specify who should go to help, he must have included himself in the plan!

Chinatsu thought to herself that even if Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke were specifically named but she wasn't, Chinatsu would still find another way to affirm herself.

I'm definitely going to piggyback on the plot of the Mugen Train arc!

"Are you ready? Hurry, hurry! Kyojuro has already set off, we need to catch up quickly."

As Chika shouted and gestured, she looked nothing like someone going to exterminate demons; it was more like a primary school teacher yelling at students on a field trip not to fall behind.

As for Kyojuro, he really did run off first. It was because he received the mission earlier than Tanjiro, and Chinatsu couldn't force Kyojuro to stay. So, she presciently told him, "Wait a minute, we'll set off together later."

We can only hurry on our journey now, but thankfully this part is not important; the real highlight is yet to come.

After Chinatsu shouted, Tanjiro and the others ran out quickly, and Nezuko followed along. They had intended to let her stay, but she strongly objected, so they had no choice but to let her come along.

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Nezuko, and Chinatsu Kamado looked westward and quickly headed towards their destination—the Mugen Train.

They soon arrived at a station that the Infinite Train would pass through, but they did not enter the station because their clothes were too conspicuous, and the knives they carried at their waists were real.

The "Sword Prohibition Edict" was issued during the Meiji period, and now it is the Taisho era. The Demon Slayer Corps may seem to be a large-scale organization, but in reality it is just a civilian organization. If they were caught by the police, it would be no laughing matter.

If you've been captured, are you expecting your lord to bail you out?

You've escaped, but we still need to put a warrant on your arrest.

In short, it's best to avoid getting involved with the police.

The group ate ramen at a ramen shop outside the station. As the saying goes, you can only get down to business after you've eaten and drunk your fill. By the way, this ramen shop was having a promotion: for a certain amount of money, you could order any kind of ramen and eat as much as you wanted.

This event was a revelation for Chika, who suffers from decision-making difficulties, and she decisively chose this one.

"Boss, is it okay if we all participate in this event?" Qianxia said as she started taking money out of her purse.

"No problem, of course no problem!"

The ramen shop owner was overjoyed to see so many people participating in the event, especially since they were all young people who didn't seem like they could eat a lot.

Seeing the boss trying to control his smile but unable to, Qianxia smiled directly.

If you're happy, I'm happy, and everyone's happy.

That's great!

With this feeling in mind, Chika began to enjoy the ramen.

Chika ate a bowl.

The owner smiled and refilled his bowl with a second bowl.

Chika ate five bowls.

The boss's lips twitched slightly, and his hands began to tremble as he continued making noodles for Qianxia.

Chika ate ten bowls.

The boss was sweating profusely. Although his noodles weren't worth much, he had put in a lot of side dishes for advertising purposes. So, he wouldn't make a profit even if he ate five bowls, let alone ten. But in his opinion, three bowls was the limit for a normal person.

But Chika continued...

"Aww! Aww! Aww! It's delicious!"

Only when the sound of train whistles echoed from the distant station did Chinatsu gulp down the broth in her bowl of ramen, letting out a soft burp.

"Thank you for your hospitality. I'll definitely come back next time!"

"Next...next time..."

To the owner's astonishment, Chika pulled out a few tissues from the table next to her, wiped her mouth, and then left the ramen shop with the others.

After a good meal and plenty of water, you'll feel energetic and full of vitality!

Chika and the others ran quickly. They hadn't bought train tickets because they would still be searched even if they did, so they planned to... smuggle themselves across the border!

With a whistle, the train began to turn and roll forward. After the train started moving, the police relaxed their vigilance considerably, because in their view, the train had already started moving, and there was no need for them to continue watching it.

Once the train starts moving, it's impossible for anyone to sneak onto it under these circumstances, right?

The police shrugged and turned to leave, but just then, a group of people burst out from one of the station's entrances.

Is the train moving?

This is the moment we've been waiting for!

The group swept past like a gust of wind, and the train, which had only just started moving, couldn't shake off Qianxia and her group at all. With a few big leaps, they all jumped from the back of the train into the rear carriages with a few clangs.

A just act of fare evasion!

After jumping onto the car, everyone was a little excited. Qianxia cleared her throat and said "Shh!" to them, signaling them to be quiet.

Everyone immediately fell silent, and Qianxia then turned around, opened the rear door, and stepped inside.

The carriage was unusually quiet. Some people were resting with their eyes closed, while others were reading. None of them would have imagined that this train had been targeted by a ghost.

Of course, the mission of the Demon Slayer Corps is to ensure that people who don't know about demons never know about them and can live a peaceful and safe life.

Chika and the others walked forward along the carriages, and after passing through a few more carriages, they immediately found Kyojuro, who had already boarded the train.

"Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!!!"

Before you see him, you hear his voice; the carriage where Kyojuro is located is already enveloped by his shrewish aura.

He was eating his boxed lunch with gusto when Chika walked up to him, at which point Kyojuro stopped his boisterous snoring.

"Huh? Chika? And everyone, what brings you all here? Do you have a mission?!" Kyojuro asked in surprise upon seeing Chika and the others arrive.

“Yes, the number of victims on the Mugen Train is still increasing, so we’re here to help.” Chinatsu said softly and casually found an empty seat next to her and sat down.

Kyojuro put down his lunchbox, crossed his arms, and said, "Is that so? That's great! If the two of us work together, this matter will definitely be resolved satisfactorily!"

Kyojuro let out a hearty laugh, and at the same time, Lower Moon One had arrived on the Mugen Train and begun his operation.
