Chapter 204 Extra Chapter: Modern Era 3
After working for Muzan for a while, Iwakatsu clearly felt a lot more pressure. Looking at the documents on the table, Iwakatsu felt physically and mentally exhausted. The other party really didn't know anything.
The phone rang, and Iwakatsu glanced at it. The screen displayed "Ms. Tsukimi." Iwakatsu immediately picked up and answered. This was an acquaintance Iwakatsu had met through work; she was a well-connected businesswoman.
"Ms. Tsukimi," Iwakatsu said, holding the phone while his hands continued to glance at the documents on the table. The company was doing well and had a stable income, but Iwakatsu was wondering if it could be expanded further, since the meager income was only enough to pay salaries.
"Oh, Mr. Tsugikuni, I've taken care of the favor you asked me to do last time. Do you remember Qingzhu Jade, which specializes in overseas business? The heir of that company is planning to open a store in Tokyo and needs someone to assist with the entire process."
A cheerful female voice came through, bringing news that surprised Yan Sheng. He remembered this brand: a jewelry brand that was very popular with women, and also had a clothing business with highly popular designs.
"Could you please introduce me to Ms. Tsukimi?" Iwakatsu asked. He had never done similar work before and didn't have many people to deal with in this area.
"Of course!" The other person agreed very quickly, and then playfully joked, "I can't refuse a handsome guy's request."
"...I hope you're happy." Iwakatsu was still not quite used to Tsukimi's straightforward words. "I'll treat you to a meal next time."
"Okay, I'll wait for your message."
After hanging up the phone, Yan Sheng slowly put it down and gently pressed the power button on his computer. The screen lit up, reflecting his slightly tired face. He began to skillfully type, his fingertips dancing across the keys, searching for information about Qingzhu.
Just then, his phone beeped abruptly, interrupting his thoughts. Yan Sheng frowned, glancing unhappily at the screen, where he saw a brief and direct message from the scumbag boss.
'Kuroshibo, I'm off work. Remember to close the door.'
Why are you getting off work at just past 3 PM?
Yan Sheng calmed himself down, comforting himself that at least the scumbag boss stayed until 3 a.m., and he was too lazy to correct the name the other party had given him. He sighed softly, his fingers rapidly tapping on the screen, replying with a simple "Okay".
He put down his phone and looked up at the information on his computer again, intending to leave after organizing the data. But not long after, his phone rang again. Yan Sheng picked it up curiously, and the number displayed was an unfamiliar one.
"Hello?" Yan Sheng had just answered the phone when he heard a deep voice. He casually hummed in response and took a sip of his coffee.
"You must be Mr. Tsugikuni Iwakatsu. I am the uncle of Tokito Yuta and Tokito Muta. The old man said that it was agreed with you that we would pick up the children today, is that right?"
Upon hearing this, Iwakatsu glanced at the calendar on the table and suddenly realized that today was indeed the appointed time, which he had completely forgotten about. He quickly replied, "Yes, where are you now? The child has arrived in Tokyo, right? I'll come pick you up."
As Yan Sheng spoke, he began to tidy up the things on the table. The person opposite him breathed a sigh of relief; he had been worried that the old man was talking nonsense.
"We're at the main station. I'll send you the address right away." As soon as the call ended, a new message popped up on Yan Sheng's phone screen with the station's detailed address.
He saw that the data on his computer screen wasn't fully organized yet, so he pressed the sleep button, letting the screen gradually dim. He grabbed his suit jacket and hurried outside.
"Manager, are you leaving?" A passing employee asked curiously, a hint of confusion in his eyes, as Yan Sheng prepared to leave.
Yan Sheng didn't linger, but simply said, "Something urgent. You guys leave on time, and remember... to close the door," before walking out the door.
"Ah, okay." The employee scratched his head, watching Yan Sheng's hurried figure. He didn't dwell on it for long, returned to his workstation, and continued to bury himself in his work.
Iwakatsu strode into the elevator, watching the numbers drop. He took out his phone and dialed Yoriichi's number again. The call was answered instantly, and Yoriichi's slightly magnetic voice came through: "Hello, brother."
"Yoriichi, do you remember the two children we talked about a while ago?"
“Of course I remember, elder brother.” Yoriichi’s voice remained calm as still water.
"They'll be back today. Check if anything is missing from the side room and prepare accordingly," Yan Sheng instructed.
"Yes, elder brother."
The elevator doors slowly opened, and after saying goodbye to Yoriichi, Iwakatsu ended the call and put his phone in his pocket.
He strode out and headed straight for the parking lot. He opened the car door, got into the driver's seat, started the car, and with the roar of the engine, he stepped on the gas and drove towards his destination.
Iwakatsu was actually a little nervous. He wavered when he saw the familiar face in the photo. After discussing it with Yoriichi, he decided that the two of them would take him.
He drove to the station and saw the three people standing there from afar. He got out of the car and stared at them blankly.
"Hello?"
Seemingly sensing his gaze, a handsome young man approached with two children. Yes, a young man; he was clearly a student, quite different from what he had imagined upon hearing the voice.
"Hello, my name is Ji Guoyansheng." Yansheng composed himself and looked down at the two children's gazes. The familiarity made him smile involuntarily.
"Ah, hello, I am Kazuya Kawasuke, the uncle of these two children. I'm so sorry to trouble you because of the old man."
The other party was taken aback by Yan Sheng's smile. He hadn't expected such a handsome man to come. Judging from the other party's demeanor, he couldn't help but feel a little reserved.
"No, do you need to rest for a bit...? Where do you want to go? I'll give you a ride."
"No, no need, I'll go straight back to school, thank you." After saying that, she left the two children behind and ran off in a hurry, not even worried that Yan Sheng was a bad person.
Yan Sheng watched the other person leave, then squatted down to be at eye level with the two children, whose two large, mint-green eyes were looking at him.
"My name is Jiguo Yansheng."
“We know that the uncle who will take care of us in the future, Grandpa and Uncle told us.”
"Uncle?" Still with that aggressive tone, Yan Sheng raised his hand and ruffled the other's head. "You have a father, right? You're my older brother."
"Wow, my hair!" Yuta raised his hand to cover his head, brushing away the stray hairs.
“Yes, my name is Wu Tai, and I’m the younger brother.” Wu Tai, who had been staring blankly to the side, looked at Yan Sheng and tilted his head as he spoke.
"Okay, I understand. Let's go." Yan Sheng gently pushed the two of them from behind, indicating that they should go.
You Tai pouted in dissatisfaction, then pulled Wu Tai and ran towards the car; they remembered it was the black one.
Yan Sheng watched without being in a hurry, reached into his pocket, took out his phone, and dialed Yoriichi's number.
"Brother?"
"Yoji, let's buy some radishes for dinner and make radish sauce. Let's also buy some honey cake while we're at it."
