Chapter 24 Judgment

Chapter 24 Judgment

"Shut up."

Yan Shengliu narrowed his eyes, looking down at the ghosts who had fallen silent instantly. He stood on the high platform, looking down at the ghosts.

The powerful aura and majesty, like ocean waves, made all the ghosts present break out in a cold sweat. They felt as if their bodies were being heavily squeezed, and their throats felt as if they had lead blocks blocking them. It was as if they had lost control of their bodies at this moment.

Yan Sheng frowned. Upper Moon Five, who was already lying prostrate on the ground, seemed to be pressed down by something, and suddenly spat out blackish-red blood. The ground was also pressed down and cracked like a spider web.

"Upper Moon Five? This... its strength? Too weak."

Yan Sheng's voice wasn't loud, but it could clearly reach the minds of all the demons.

As if to confirm Iwakatsu's words, Upper Moon Five's body made a cracking sound, but due to the demon's regenerative ability, he could feel the broken bones in his body constantly reassembling. The whole process was like being repeatedly beaten, extremely painful, but he was unable to make any sound.

The entire venue was deathly silent.

"Hahaha, so it's Lord Kokushibo! I've heard of you before, Lord Kokushibo, the Upper Moon One. It was such a pity I didn't get to meet you last time."

Upper Moon Three reacted first and immediately recovered. He released his tail from Upper Moon Six, swam forward a few times, and looked up at Iwakatsu.

Iwakatsu stood there, a katana at his waist. Even with three pairs of eyes on his face, his handsome features were undeniable. His long black hair was tied up high, the ends tinged with brilliant red, and fiery red markings adorned his forehead and chin, spreading downwards.

Looking at the other party's appearance, Upper Moon Three, recalling his previous encounters with the Demon Slayer Corps, spoke with great interest.

"I'm so sorry to ask, but were you originally a pillar? Oh, I'm sorry, I'm just really curious."

This was like a drop of water falling into oil, drawing all the demons' attention to Iwakatsu. A demon who knew breathing techniques was quite novel, yet it also made them look down on him. Even so, none of the demons dared to say anything.

"Heh, so you're just a swordsman who uses breathing techniques. I've killed quite a few of those. So what if you've become a demon?"

Upper Moon Four, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke up with a mocking laugh, his eyes filled with amusement as he looked at Iwakatsu.

"I've killed quite a few people who know Breathing Techniques, so I don't know how that Lord Kokushibo compares to them. But they should be about the same~ I'm really embarrassed to speak so bluntly as a demon."

Upper Moon Three continued the conversation as if performing a duet, his words filled with sarcasm. They had heard of Upper Moon One before, but thought he was just so-so.

Swordsmen who know breathing techniques are a common sight; they are difficult to deal with, but not particularly troublesome.

Therefore, everyone underestimated and doubted Iwakatsu's strength. They had all witnessed each other's strength, and they didn't take this samurai, who was ranked first but had never appeared, seriously at all.

Now that all the Upper Moon demons are here, even if they can't win one-on-one, a few demons can't do anything to them, right? Thinking of this, they secretly exchanged glances, then revealed mocking expressions, not taking Yan Sheng seriously at all.

Watching the two demons mocking the so-called Upper Moon One, as if they had planned it all along, the obese male demon, Upper Moon Five, whose resentment towards Iwakatsu had already reached its peak, got up and pointed at Iwakatsu with an arrogant attitude, his sarcasm at its maximum.

"Just a swordsman who knows breathing techniques, what's with the airs! You're the one who called us here, aren't you? What a piece of trash."

At this moment, Yan Sheng deeply understood what it meant to be cannon fodder; it truly meant paving the way for others with one's life. He took a step forward, and the sound of the pipa immediately rang out, and a descending staircase appeared before Yan Sheng once again.

I give this a perfect score.

Iwakatsu was overjoyed that Nakime was so cooperative, but he maintained a calm expression on his face. As they descended the stairs, the sound of their wooden clogs hitting the floor made their hearts leap into their throats.

Unfortunately, he just likes to eliminate cannon fodder. Since he can't speak, he might as well never speak at all.

Before the demons could even process the fact that Nakime, who had always treated everyone equally and disregarded everyone else, was being so obsequious, the sound of Iwakatsu's footsteps descending the stairs grew heavier and louder, like rocks pressing down on them.

Panic gripped the entire area. Everyone held their breath, and many of the Lower Moons even coughed up blood from the powerful aura emanating from them. They could only grit their teeth, bury their heads low, and press their foreheads firmly against the floor. Others struggled to stay kneeling, afraid to utter a sound.

Yan Sheng looked at the four Upper Moon demons who were starting to tremble slightly, his six golden eyes turning to the three demons who had been cooperating earlier.

None of them are from the original story, kill them all.

Yan Sheng slowly drew his sword, which was resting on his waist. The clanging sound of the sword being drawn echoed through the scene, like the scythe of death approaching step by step.

“Ignorant, ignorant, arrogant, disrespectful... and barbaric, you... no longer need to exist.”

Yan Sheng spoke slowly, but he could pronounce every word clearly and distinctly. When Yan Sheng finally stepped onto the ground, the steps behind him instantly shattered into cubes of the same size and fell apart.

The purple katana was covered in eyes, sending chills down one's spine. Iwakatsu raised his hand and lightly waved it back into its sheath, staring intently at the demons.

Seemingly without any movement, Upper Moon Five stared intently, opening his mouth as if to utter a few more sarcastic remarks.

"Pfft—".

The bloated, heavy head slid off the neck, spurting blood. Immediately afterwards, the perspectives of Upper Moon Four and Upper Moon Three were reversed, as if time had slowed down, and the two were also completely split in two, their blood staining the floor red.

Blood flowed onto a lower-ranking demon. The demon, too afraid to look up, felt the warm, sticky sensation. He glanced at it cautiously, then screamed, quickly covering his mouth, his body trembling like a leaf. This caused the other demons to look up as well, only to see the three demons dead, their deaths swift and clean. The upper-ranking demon who had been above them had died silently, making them clearly aware of the difference in their strength.

Yan Sheng looked at the only ghost who remained calm and didn't tremble, and walked up to her, looking directly at her.

"You're very good."

Iwakatsu had a good impression of this courageous female ghost and gave her a rare compliment. After glancing at the other ghosts who quickly lowered their heads before meeting his gaze, Iwakatsu walked to the only remaining Upper Moon Riku.

"The rest is up to you... to handle."

"Okay...okay...okay, Lord Kokushibo."

Upper Moon Six managed to finish speaking, his completely covered body trembling slightly. He clutched the tattered umbrella tightly, his voice so soft it was almost inaudible.

Yan Sheng didn't say anything more, turned around, nodded to Nakime, and disappeared from the spot.

After Yan Sheng left, the demons finally relaxed. They all knew that the Upper Moon demons were powerful, but they hadn't expected the difference to be so great. Without any sound or movement, he had killed three Upper Moon demons in a single move.

Looking at the neat, blood-soaked cuts on the corpse lying on the ground, they swallowed hard. The scene remained quiet for a while, until Lower Moon Four made the first move, after which the other demons began to scramble for the weapon.

Every demon knows that eating its own kind and humans will greatly increase its strength, let alone the flesh and blood of demons stronger than itself.

Only two demons remained outside the group. Nakime watched Iwakatsu leave, her fingers gently plucking the strings of her biwa. A melodious tune echoed through the Infinite Castle.
