Chapter 34: Conversation with Xun Sheng’s Office
After speaking his mind, Xu Yi looked at Xun Sheng and smiled. Xun Sheng also looked at him and smiled. Between the two smiling faces, Xun Sheng's mouth uttered two cruel words: "No."
"Why, Boss, I'm really tired!"
"She's not suitable. She's just here for an internship."
"You should learn some practical stuff during internship!"
Upon hearing this, Xun Sheng put down the pen in his hand, supported his chin with both hands, and opened his lips softly.
"You go out first."
"Boss"
"no."
"Wow, wow, wow" Xu Yi covered his eyes with his hands, pretended to cry and left the office. Before leaving, he did not forget to pat Xia Cheng's shoulder, signaling her to keep working hard.
After everyone left and the office quieted down, Xia Cheng asked, "Do you want to open the door and talk?"
Xun Sheng raised his eyelids and glanced at her with a half-smile:
"unnecessary."
"All right."
"Do you want to work with Xu Yi?" he asked back.
Xia Cheng thought about it and decided to ask the questions in her heart.
"My thoughts are not important. I have no experience. Since you have already made the arrangements, I should listen to you. But I still want to ask, Han Wenya obviously likes you, why do you arrange a woman who is competing with her to be by his side?"
"What are you competing for?" Xun Sheng leaned back on the chair, his legs crossed. The midline of his pants hanging from his knees made his legs look slender. He rested one hand on the armrest of the chair and spoke in a slightly hoarse tone:
"Me?"
"Hmm..." Who said it wasn't?
"She should have left a long time ago. Over the years, she's been putting more and more effort into things she shouldn't be putting it into."
"So you're trying to use me to get her to leave?"
Xun Sheng raised an eyebrow, remaining noncommittal, somewhat anticipating Xia Cheng's reaction. In his impression, she always did things for no apparent reason.
He guessed that Xia Cheng would be angry and refuse.
Unexpectedly, Xia Cheng just snorted coquettishly, stood up from the chair, walked to his side, and put her face close to his ear.
Lowering your voice, you placed your fingers on his shoulders, caressing them gently.
"Well, I helped you, is there any reward?"
Xun Sheng glanced at her sideways, slapped Xia Cheng's hand away, and Xia Cheng pinched his fingers in return.
The place where his fingertips were pinched felt like it was bitten by tens of thousands of ants, painful and itchy. He screamed "ridiculous" in his heart, shook off Xia Cheng's hand, and simply stood up and walked away from the fresh gardenia scent.
"Speak nicely."
"You want to use me to drive her away? That's how close you have to be. I'm practicing ahead of time! Or, tell me your plan and see what benefits I can get. Or, just fire her directly. If you can't do that, don't reject me."
Xun Sheng stood up and walked away from the desk, retreating to the floor-to-ceiling window as if there was a flood or a beast, and stood still, like a cat catching a mouse. Every time Xia Cheng took a step closer, he took a step back.
In fact, Xia Cheng was right. Xun Sheng really couldn't do it. Although Han Wenya's business ability gradually declined, the network of relationships she held was still what Xun Sheng needed. It was for this reason that Xun Sheng asked Xia Cheng to follow Han Wenya.
He needed Xia Cheng to gradually transfer the business that Han Wenya had negotiated, to prevent even these bosses from leaving because of Han Wenya when he was unstable.
What's more, Han Wenya was sent by someone else.
He wasn't sure if Xia Cheng could do it, nor did he trust her to do it alone. He just wanted Xia Cheng to be his female companion, to make Han Wenya feel threatened and give up her cards. Then he could negotiate on his own.
Han Wenya belongs to that group of old guys. He has endured for so many years, watching her jumping around in front of him, just to wait for her position to be secure and support her companions.
Now we are only one step away from success.
Xun Sheng had considered hiring a new secretary, but having Han Wenya offend his sister would make the dismissal more reasonable. He would choose a new secretary after Xia Cheng finished her internship and returned to school.
Xia Cheng was indeed very handy. As for the benefits... company shares? That required caution. In the short term, there was no better solution than acting with Xia Cheng. Furthermore, she seemed to be eager to make a move.
He leaned his back against the hot glass window and felt his heart getting restless as the temperature of his back rose.
"What reward do you want?"
Xia Cheng pouted and smiled slightly innocently.
"I haven't decided yet."
She slowly approached, with her hands behind her back, her light pink skirt swaying, and swayed in front of Xun Sheng, the edge brushing his thigh. She raised her head and looked up at him, her bright eyes filled with emotions that Xun Sheng had never experienced before.
"But I like everything my brother gives me."
After saying this, Xia Cheng stepped back and restored the distance between them to normal.
Xun Sheng was almost stuck to the glass.
"I understand. You can go out first."
He felt very hot, and after everyone left, he irritably pulled off his tie and threw it on the table.
After a while, he shrugged his nose again, grabbed the tie in his palm, and sniffed it.
There was a lingering, rich scent of gardenia.
*
Xia Cheng didn't know why Xun Sheng asked her to force Han Wenya away, and he didn't seem to have any clear intentions, but it didn't matter. She didn't care whether Xun Sheng was good or bad. She just wanted to take his heart, play with it, and then put it back.
Because she hated him, this man who could always see through her disguise easily, making her feel like she had fallen into a room of mirrors, with no escape.
She is a bad guy. Not only does she want to take Xun Mo's brother away, she also wants to make this man fall into her hands. It would be best if she drives him out of the Xun family, so that the love and tenderness of his parents can be hers.
When Xia Cheng walked out of the office, she saw Han Wenya looking at her from a distance.
She adjusted her smile, went to the tea room without changing her expression, and brought Han Wenya a cup of coffee with less sugar and milk.
After drinking this little bit of sweetness, you will suffer for the next two months.
"Sister Wenya, Brother Yi just said he was too busy and asked me to be his assistant. But Mr. Xun didn't agree, saying you're working too hard, so he asked me to follow behind and carry bags and block the wine. Please take care of me in the future."
Han Wenya knew that these were just polite remarks, but she still couldn't help but glance sideways. She took the coffee in the disposable paper box but didn't drink it. Those words touched her heart. Xun Sheng was a caring person, but she still couldn't take it lightly.
She adjusted the small mirror on the table and looked at her own face. Twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old was not considered old, but compared to a young girl in her twenties, she always lacked some of the childishness that men loved most.
She secretly glanced at Xia Cheng's pink skirt, which made her look even more delicate.
Maybe tomorrow, she should try this color.
Xia Cheng continued to check the report. Two months was a long time, and she had to think carefully about what she should do.
She bent over and sat on the stool, rubbing her aching ankle. Her injury had just healed, so she was not suitable for wearing high heels at all. However, after standing for a while, she could not bear it anymore.
