Chapter 83: Kidnapped
Xia Cheng was horrified.
"I'm talking to my...brother."
"Brother?" The middle-aged man chuckled twice. "I didn't expect you to accept the identity that family arranged for you so quickly."
"You know me?!"
Xia Cheng opened her eyes wide, feeling a little powerless, thinking it was just her own illusion.
How could the driver know about her family's affairs? The thought was terrifying. She felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.
The driver stopped talking.
The car creaked and stopped suddenly, staying on the narrow road.
The driver opened the car door and the wind blew backwards, waking Xia Cheng up.
The driver got out first, unlocking the center console. Xia Cheng held up her phone and subconsciously pressed the raised button on her side of the door.
Looking up, I saw through the car window a horrifying, scarred face of a man.
The man pulled at the car door twice but it didn't open. He then tried to pull the front door. Xia Cheng didn't have time to lock it, so he got out through the other rear door, holding his phone, and without a second thought, he started running.
There really is something wrong with this driver.
Her intuition was sharp and she gasped and shouted for help.
But there was no one on the dark path.
Seeing this, the man chased for a few steps, then turned around, got into the car, and turned it around.
But the path was too narrow, and after some effort, Xia Cheng had already run a long way.
The man smiled sarcastically, stepped on the accelerator, and followed slowly behind him like a cat chasing a mouse.
He was very experienced in draining the energy of his prey.
Xia Cheng ran desperately, but because she was wearing slippers, she fell to the ground after a while. She got up and continued, groaning in pain. On the other end of the phone, the police officer suddenly became alert.
"Ma'am, did you get out of the car? If the other party has a car, try to run to a small road with more trees to prevent the other party from chasing you."
Upon hearing this, Xia Cheng turned and ran into the jungle, describing the surrounding environment as he ran.
"There are lots of trees and grass here, and there are street lights, but I don't see any numbers. It used to be an asphalt road, but now it's sandy."
After running towards the jungle where the car could not drive in, Xia Cheng finally had time to breathe a sigh of relief, but she was not completely relieved yet. When she turned around, she could see the light of car lights. The man might be rushing towards her, and she had to leave here quickly.

The man got out of the car, put his hands on his hips and looked at the jungle. He kicked the tire with his lip tilted and said coldly.
Xia Cheng is smarter than he thought.
He opened the trunk, took out a silver wrench, and pulled out the car keys. The headlights were off, but he was not anxious, nor was he afraid that Xia Cheng would run away. He calmly pushed aside the weeds.
After walking about four or five hundred meters, he found Xia Cheng.
Xia Cheng lay quietly on the ground with messy hair. Her cell phone flew two or three meters away. An anxious male voice came from the phone. The call was not hung up. The police on the other end was calling Xia Cheng's name.
The man picked up the phone, turned it off, and threw it into the haystack. Wearing a pair of white gloves for rough work, he picked up Xia Cheng, who seemed to be sleeping soundly on the ground, and slowly walked towards the car.
The tissue he handed Xia Cheng was soaked in medicine, which gave it its distinctive scent. He had modified the taxi's air conditioning so that if the liquid on the tissue were inhaled into the airways, the person would slowly go from weakness to unconsciousness within fifteen minutes.
So, he can just use the air conditioner and there is nothing wrong with it.
The man tied Xia Cheng into a knot with a blood-stained hemp rope, then put a cloth bag over her mouth and threw her into the trunk.
He whistled and drove towards his destination.

At 1:05 a.m. at Xingdong Airport, a plane from Xidazhou landed smoothly. In the VIP channel, a tall man was talking on the phone while looking for his cousin who came to pick him up.
The man walked with a steady gait, his lips pursed lightly, his fox-like eyes drooping with fatigue. His cobalt-blue eyes slid across the crowds at the airport, finally landing on someone with similarly pale blue eyes before he hung up.
"Brother! Here!"
Wan Ke waved his hand. There were few people at the airport at this time. He spotted the tall and long-legged Wan Lu at a glance. He ran over eagerly, took the small suitcase from his hand, and smiled foolishly beside him.
"You can stay at my place tonight, and I'll take you to find Xia Cheng tomorrow!"
"Forget it. What will happen to your girlfriends if they live with you?"
"Brother, stop teasing me. I never date multiple people at the same time. I only look for the next one after a breakup."
"How come two women are pregnant at the same time?"
Wan Ke rubbed his head and looked at his cousin Wan Lu, feeling a little pitiful.
"Alas, I was tricked by a woman. I was actually thinking of a solution."
Wan Lu lowered his chin, took off his windbreaker after getting in the car, and his straight shirt lay snugly against his back. He unbuttoned the top two buttons. Haishi was hotter than he thought.
"Your solution is to adopt one for me?" He rubbed his brow, sneered, and casually rolled up a book in the car and hit Wan Ke on the head.
Wan Ke chuckled twice.
"Isn't this great? We're all family after all... And Xia Cheng seems to have a good personality, so she should agree."
Wan Lu shook his head helplessly, but did not refute.
"Are you familiar with Xia Cheng?"
"Not really, we've just run into each other a few times... I haven't seen her since we last met at the pharmacy. I don't know how she's doing."
Wan Lu had heard about this from Wan Ke a long time ago, so he hurriedly dealt with the things on hand, and postponed those that could not be solved. He originally planned to come back in October to meet Xia Cheng's father, but now it seems he has to go there earlier.
After all, she was also afraid that Xia Cheng would marry someone else while pregnant.
Out of respect, he did not investigate and planned to ask in person. It didn't matter even if Xia Cheng married him while pregnant with someone else's child. Ever since she saved him, his heart had no room for anyone else. As long as the child had Xia Cheng's blood, it didn't matter whose it was.
Wan Ke of course knew what Wan Lu was thinking, and he poked Wan Lu's arm.
"What if the child's father doesn't agree? Or, what if Xia Cheng is already engaged to someone? I saw that guy the other day and he's quite nice."
Wan Lu glanced at him sideways, straightened his clothes, and raised his chin.
"As long as you're not married yet, there's no corner you can't dig up."
Wan Ke was dumbfounded. Seeing his brother look so radiant and saying such a thing, he really felt like a scum.
He spoke so calmly about poaching.
Wan Ke nodded.
"Do you agree, sister?"
"She agreed wholeheartedly. She also said that even if we get married, we can still get divorced."
Wan Ke cried out and ran away far away.
"Oh my god...it turns out I'm the one with the most correct values in our family!"
Wan Lu rolled his eyes at him.
"I won't stay at your house, just send me to the most expensive hotel."
"The most expensive is also called casual?" Wan Ke complained in a low voice, but still let the driver drive past obediently.
