Chapter 1627: Cannon Fodder Trapped Twice

The name Mu Hanyan was undoubtedly resounding and dazzling within the Canglan Sect. Initially, they felt as though she was a mountain weighing down their heads, suffocating them. With Mu Hanyan around, their master, Chen Ziyu, would never look them in the eye. So, they desperately tried to catch up with her, but eventually, they realized that no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't catch up.

When someone is slightly stronger than the average person, people envy and jealousy arise, but when someone is truly powerful, they are simply filled with fear. They no longer felt any envy towards Mu Hanyan, only fear. Mu Hanyan's stunning sword strike in the secret realm had left a deep impression on them, a memory that had become a psychological trauma, somewhat impacting their future cultivation.

Rumors abounded that Chen Ziyu and Mu Hanyan were equally powerful, a match made in heaven. Chen Ziyu himself believed this, too. However, Chen Ziyu's two disciples saw things more clearly than he did. The two female disciples knew full well that Mu Hanyan's apparent strength was far from her true capabilities. She far surpassed their master, Chen Ziyu. If they angered Mu Hanyan, they worried their master wouldn't be able to last more than three moves. If that happened, their arrogant master's life would be ruined.

Chen Ziyu was unaware of his apprentice's thoughts at this moment. His mind and eyes were filled with Mu Hanyan. What he wanted most at this moment was to kill Ye Lanxuan and Fen Qianji!

…

After walking for more than an hour, Mu Hanyan, Ye Lanxun and Fen Qianji finally arrived at the foot of the highest mountain.

"Here..." Ye Lanxuan and Fen Qianji were both slightly surprised, because this place was strangely quiet. There were no birds singing or insects chirping. Even stranger, they felt that the air here was fresher, the leaves were greener, and the flowers were brighter and more vibrant.

"It's a bit strange, isn't it?" Mu Hanyan looked forward. "I think it's a little unusual. There's always a voice in my heart telling me that the legend is true. There really was a phoenix living here."

"Senior sister is right, this place is unusual." Ye Lanxuan nodded.

Fen Qianji rolled his eyes at Ye Lanxun, where Mu Hanyan couldn't see. "All that nonsense is just flattery!" Anyone with a discerning eye could see that something was amiss here.

"Look at the lake ahead." Mu Hanyan pointed to the emerald green lake below the mountain and whispered, "The seal is right below, in the center of the lake."

"Hu Li, senior sister, how did you discover there was a seal inside?" Fen Qianji asked with some confusion.

"I found it when I was bored." Mu Hanyan said a little embarrassedly, "Last time, I was bored and threw a stone in the water. I accidentally used my energy. As a result, I heard a vibration from below. I went down to take a look out of curiosity and found that there was something else at the bottom of the lake. After that, every time I lead a team here, I would come here alone to take a look."

"Is there something else going on?" Ye Lanxuan looked at the tranquil lake. He couldn't tell from the surface that there was something different underneath.

"Just follow me." Mu Hanyan said, circulated her energy to wrap her whole body, and jumped directly into the lake.

Ye Lanxuan and Fen Qianji didn't jump in immediately. Instead, they exchanged a glance, then glanced back. They simultaneously made a hand gesture, causing the air behind them to fluctuate slightly before calming down. Then, as if nothing had happened, they too, channeled their Qi to envelop their bodies and dived into the water, chasing after Mu Hanyan.

Soon, Chen Ziyu and his two apprentices caught up. Looking at the emerald green and calm lake, Chen Ziyu frowned, "Where are they going? Did they go down into the lake?"

"But what are we going to do at the bottom of the lake?" One of the disciples next to him, named Yi Qiu, asked in confusion.

"Maybe they found something down there." Another disciple named Xia Lan guessed.

"Let's go check it out," Chen Ziyu said, and he walked forward. But just as he took a step, he felt a terrifying pressure surge in front of him. This pressure sent Chen Ziyu flying backwards, spitting blood from his mouth.

Yi Qiu and Xia Lan screamed and rushed over to catch Chen Ziyu, but it was too late. Chen Ziyu fell heavily to the ground, making a deep crater, and blood spurted out of his mouth again.

"Master!" Yi Qiu and Xia Lan hurriedly took out the pills and stuffed them into Chen Ziyu's mouth.

Chen Ziyu finally recovered, coughing up blood. He stared ahead in disbelief. There was clearly nothing ahead, so how could he be suddenly attacked? There were no people, no formation fluctuations. Yet, that terrifying force was real.

"Master, what is going on?" Yi Qiu looked at Chen Ziyu worriedly.

"Master, is there any formation here?" Xia Lan looked ahead vigilantly.

"It doesn't look like it." Chen Ziyu sat cross-legged to digest the medicinal effect of the pill he had just taken. His face was pale and he said in a deep voice, "It could be something else." The ambush method just now was beyond his understanding, and he didn't know what it was.

"Master, you rest here. I'll go investigate first." Xia Lan stood up and cautiously walked forward step by step. She knew that it would be futile to persuade the master to go back now, so it would be better to help the master continue forward.

"Be careful." Chen Ziyu said, but did not stop Xia Lan.

Seeing this, Yi Qiu sighed inwardly. Xia Lan was so silly, and she was no different.

Xia Lan cautiously walked forward, becoming especially cautious when she reached the spot where Chen Ziyu had been sent flying. But she still didn't sense anything unusual. She continued forward, step by step, passing through the area, still no movement. It seemed that Master had triggered some kind of restriction, causing him to be sent flying. And this restriction was a one-time effect; once triggered and launched, it would cease to exist.

To be on the safe side, Xia Lan risked her life by walking around and making sure there were no restrictions before turning around and going to Chen Ziyu.

"Master, it should be gone." Xia Lan didn't say it, but Chen Ziyu could see it. He must have been unlucky and triggered some kind of restriction.

"Let's go." Chen Ziyu stood up and walked ahead.

Xia Lan and Yi Qiu followed behind, originally thinking that nothing would happen this time.

As a result… when Chen Ziyu reached the front, he was once again struck back by another terrifying force. He flew away again like a kite with a broken string.

Xia Lan and Yi Qiu also hurriedly turned around and chased after him. They were both shocked and confused. What was going on? Xia Lan had clearly checked and found no problems, and she hadn't triggered any restrictions when she walked over. Why did Chen Ziyu get into trouble when she walked over there?

This time, Chen Ziyu was even more seriously injured, with blood gushing out of his mouth like a fountain. It was obvious that this time his internal organs were injured.
