As dawn approached, Zhou Lang quietly got up to untie Ye Chen, to prevent anyone from seeing him and causing a bad impression.
Ye Chen, that lackey, can sleep soundly like a pig no matter when or where.
The sun was almost high in the sky, but he was still fast asleep.
I can't let him get away with this!
I kicked his butt, waking him from his sleep: "Go start the fire and cook! After you eat, you still have to work! Don't even think about continuing to freeload here!"
Ye Chen rubbed his sleepy eyes and obediently climbed out of bed, grinning as always: "Yes, Miss Ahua!"
I squinted at him and realized that his thick skin was indeed innate.
But the more Ye Chen acted this way, the less I knew what to do with him. I couldn't understand the desires and soul deep within a mere mortal.
Is it because he's good at hiding it, or because he has no desires at all? I can't tell, but it's better to be more wary of this kind of person.
Zhou Lang and Ye Chen were in charge of prototyping and construction, while I was responsible for supervising boiling water, cooking, and helping out.
I've been fiddling around in this tiny little place for several days.
We've only just laid the most basic foundation. And with the three of us working together to build it, it would probably take us ten days to half a month to move into the new house.
I even discovered that Zhou Lang and Ye Chen harbored a great deal of hatred towards each other.
They each had their own opinions on how to build the house, and they were still arguing when I came to call them for dinner after I had cooked.
"Young Master Zhou, this is unreasonable; it's going to collapse!"
"That's not reasonable; it'll collapse easily!"
"This brick should be placed like this!"
"It should be placed like this!"
They've been arguing since early morning until noon, unable to even lay a single brick.
My temper flared: "Do you two even know how to build? If you keep arguing like this, when will I ever get to move into my new house?"
"Miss Ahua, you be the judge! How can this be stacked? Look, the bottom bricks are all tilted!"
I looked down and saw that the bricks and tiles that Zhou Lang had piled up were indeed a bit off, and their placement was even messy and unreasonable.
I thought that Zhou Lang's spiritual power had recently increased so much that he would be able to build houses, but now it seems that not only is he not very reliable, but he also seems to lack even the most basic common sense. Could it be that his dementia has started to relapse?
"Ahua, you have to believe me. I can build our new house. It's best if outsiders don't interfere!"
“That’s completely wrong. It will collapse even if you build it up. I can’t just stand by and watch Ah Hua get crushed to death in her new house as soon as she moves in, can I?”
"You'll be the one who gets crushed to death! I haven't even moved in yet and you've already cursed me to death!" I shouted angrily at Ye Chen.
I rubbed my temples, feeling a headache coming on, and thought to myself that I should probably hire some professionals to do the construction.
"Who is this blind fool who tried to crush our Ah Hua to death?"
Just as they were arguing, another man's voice came from behind them.
I turned my head and saw that it was the sickly prince in a blue robe, holding a folding fan with ink painting on it, and following behind the little guard with a blue face and a beautiful face, walking towards me gracefully.
"Sickly Prince? What brings you here?" Although I was quite surprised to see this prince, I still warmly invited him to sit on my stone bench.
He's my big spender, so of course I have to be enthusiastic.
I invited the young guard to take a seat, but she pretended to be aloof and ignored me.
"Look at you, still so old-fashioned!" I said with a grin, giving her a flirtatious wink.
The prince was now radiant, his eyes as sharp and deep as ever. He waved his folding fan at me and chuckled, “I heard that my great benefactor has been busy renovating his mansion recently, so I specially invited some skilled craftsmen to lend you a hand, young lady.”
"Do you charge money? I can't afford to pay you!" This aspect definitely needs to be made clear.
"Since I am offering my assistance, Miss Ahua will naturally not have to pay for it!"
Hearing him say that made me feel relieved and I breathed a sigh of relief.
"I see that Your Highness is now in much better health, and Ah Hua is very pleased. It's too kind of Your Highness to come in person." I said politely, feigning modesty, but I was secretly overjoyed.
"Miss Ahua, please don't stand on ceremony with me!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he waved his hand, and a group of men carrying tools and equipment appeared in front of me.
The prince pointed to the leading man and said, "This is an experienced master architect I found. You can rest assured that you can entrust your daughter to them."
The man at the head of the group politely bowed to me and asked about my requirements regarding the type of house and whether I had any special needs.
After I handed him the house structure diagram drawn by Zhou Lang, he confidently said, "No problem!"
"Since you're a professional, will you be able to let me move into this new house within ten days?" That's the question I care about.
"You can move in in three days, not ten!"
"Three days? That's amazing! Your Highness is truly reliable!" I praised the princes present, then glared at Ye Chen and Zhou Lang: "If we had to rely on ourselves, we probably wouldn't be able to move into our new house next year, and we might even be crushed to death again as soon as we moved in!"
"Hahahaha, Miss Ahua is so humorous." The sickly prince laughed heartily, fanning himself with a folding fan.
However, Zhou Lang and Ye Chen were unwilling to move aside to make way for the group of skilled craftsmen.
I patted them both on the shoulder: "You two should leave this to the professionals! Don't delay my move into my new house."
Ye Chen and Zhou Lang glared at each other before angrily parting ways.
After exchanging pleasantries with the prince, I sat down in front of him without any hesitation and said frankly, "Your Highness has come here today for more than just to help me repair my residence, hasn't he?"
"No one understands me better than Miss Ahua. Miss Ahua is indeed exceptionally intelligent." The prince's eyes flashed with a serious expression.
"Not only does Miss Ahua possess secret remedies that can cure all diseases and detoxify all poisons, but she also has the ability to find ancient ginseng. Furthermore, her martial arts skills are unfathomable, on par with my Qingyan."
"Last time I heard you say that you possessed some extraordinary abilities, and now I believe it. You are a rare talent, and it would be a great pity to have your potential wasted. How about you become my advisor? I certainly won't treat you unfairly." The prince spoke eloquently, and the admiration he showed me in his eyes surprised me greatly.
"Ah Hua, she won't be with anyone else, she belongs only to me, Zhou Lang." At this moment, Zhou Lang stood in front of me with a gloomy face, looking like he was about to beat someone up.
"Your Highness, please wait a moment!" I said, then pulled Zhou Lang away a little further away.
"Ahua, I know I'm not smart enough, not good enough, and I don't have money, but don't go with anyone else! Zhou Lang can't live without you." Zhou Lang pulled me into his arms, looking flustered and helpless.
For some reason, Zhou Yu has recently started to seem a bit dim-witted? Is he starting to act recklessly?
