Chapter 11: Always Have Dreams

"You should always have dreams," she said, fearing that Tian would be upset, so she quickly changed the subject. "Hey, have you finished washing? Auntie is still waiting for your basins. Hurry up, it's getting dark."

A few children giggled.

You should always have dreams, just in case they come true!

When Zhou and the others came back, Chunxiao had already gone to bed. Shufeng didn't come over tonight because she knew she didn't want to tell stories. Chunxiao lay alone in the quilt, thinking about her plans. Now she had a place to settle down, but how would she make a living? It was not like there, where they could go out for interviews and jobs. It was almost impossible for a woman to go out and make a living. In the countryside, people were basically self-sufficient, and saving money was secondary. Food was a must. Although she knew how to farm, she had no land now. No land meant no food, and food had to be bought with money. She still had to earn money. Even if she listened to her mother and raised pigs, she would have to feed them for a year before she could buy them. She didn't know if the little money she had was enough to buy things in two days. Zhang was startled and hurried into the house to check on Chunxiao. She also reached out and touched her. "She has a fever." Zhang was a little nervous. "Go next door and tell your grandma."

Shuduo ran to call Zhou again, and Pan'er followed behind. Soon Zhou and Tian came over, "What's the matter? Do you have a fever? Weren't you fine when you were having dinner last night?" Zhou saw that her face was very red, and she knew that she must have a fever without touching it.

"Mom, I'm fine." Chunxiao didn't understand why she got sick after a good sleep. She just thought that the aches and pains in her body were due to fatigue, and that she would be fine if she slept a little longer. She didn't expect that she actually had a fever.

"How can you be alright? This fever is serious." She took out a handful of copper coins from her pocket and gave them to Zhang. "Go to the village and see if your uncle Liu is here. If he is, ask him to come over quickly. Go quickly."

Zhang took the money and left.
