What kind of rubbish auction is this? Is there no one to maintain order? Will they make any money? She complained in her heart, holding her stool and trying to squeeze forward, but she didn't know that those seemingly gentle scholars in front of her had turned into jackals and tigers for the sake of their loved ones. If she squeezed in rashly, her clothes would probably be messed up.
She looked at the situation in front of her and walked around other parts of the store, thinking that when there were fewer people around, she could see if she could go through the back door with the owner. Thinking of this, she left the store first. Across from the store, there was a stall owner who was shaking his head with a sarcastic look on his face.
This was funny, she stepped forward.
"Girl, feel free to look at any painting you like." The stall owner was a young scholar. When he saw her approaching, he quickly put on a smile and greeted her.
"I just saw you looking at it with a sarcastic look in your eyes. Could it be that your paintings are better than theirs?" Chun Xiao went straight to the point. Looking at the paintings on his stall, they were indeed well-made.
The scholar looked a little flustered when he heard this. "Why do you say that, young lady? When did I ever mock you? There are people who are better than you, and I dare not mock them."
"A real man dares to do something but not to take responsibility for it." Chun Xiao looked at him, "It's okay, I was just saying it casually. Did you draw these paintings?"
Seeing he was exposed, the man didn't bother to argue anymore. "I was just laughing at how ridiculous this world is. That painting is clearly fake, yet it managed to pass for a real one. Mine is clearly real, yet it's like a pearl covered in dust. Isn't that funny?"
"What do you mean?" Chunxiao became interested.
The scholar glanced at the person opposite him, but didn't seem to want to say much. He just focused on introducing the painting to her.
Chunxiao, however, lost interest in the painting in front of her. "From what you said just now, sir, do you have a masterpiece at home? It's like this, I'm looking for a painting. If it's really a masterpiece, I'll sincerely ask for it, and the price is negotiable." She pretended to be pretentious and looked at the scholar.
The scholar frowned. "You want that painting of a tiger descending the mountain? Aren't you afraid I'm a liar?" He chuckled self-deprecatingly. "I showed it to the owner of the art shop before, and he immediately concluded that my painting was a fake. This one is the real thing."
It turned out that what they were fighting over in the hall just now was a painting of a tiger descending the mountain. She smiled and said, "Exactly. As soon as I saw the painting, I knew it couldn't be real, so I came out. If it really is here, young master, I wonder if you would be willing to give it up."
She prayed in her heart, hoping that the person she met today would not be a high-level con man.
"Today I have found a kindred spirit. I found that painting by chance, but I am certain it is the real thing. Since you are an expert in painting and are willing to spend money on it, I will give it to you. It would be a waste to keep it in my house. I wonder what price you are willing to pay for it?"
"Can I take a look first?"
"Of course. Never mind. We're not open today anyway. Just come with me and take a look." After saying that, he began to pack up his stall.
