Chapter 27 Follow Auntie to Eat Meat

"If you want to eat thin noodles, go find your father. Eat quickly, the broth is getting cold." Zhou scooped a spoonful of broth with meat for him, and scooped a spoonful for each of the others.

"Are days like these the days of heaven?" Yan Dashan scooped a spoonful of soup for Tian and himself.

"Of course not. We're eating rice and meat before the New Year even begins. If others see us, they'll probably be envious."

"Don't talk nonsense when you go out. Remember that," Zhou warned. "Life like this is like today and there's no tomorrow. Who knows what the future will hold."

"Mom, I know. You've told me several times."

"Sister-in-law, can I get a few eggs when I leave later?"

"Take as many as you want. It's okay to take them all. I'll put them in your backpack after dinner."

"If what's here is not enough, I have some more over there." Zhang also spoke.

"No, no, just take a few." Chun Xiao smiled at them, "I just want to eat eggs."

Zhou glanced at everyone and said, "If we can continue to have income like this, we won't buy eggs for our family. We'll keep them for ourselves and change the food accordingly."

"It's all good news today." Shuwen ate meat and looked at Chunxiao with bright eyes. "Aunt, you are really amazing. Since you came, our family has eaten meat and oranges, and we will have eggs in the future. Grandma used to be reluctant to eat eggs."

"You little bastard, I'd hate to see you go hungry ever again." Zhou laughed. "You even know how to flatter your aunt."

"Mom said that Auntie is capable and asked us to listen to her more in the future."

Zhang's face immediately turned red when she heard this, and she smiled awkwardly at everyone, "I didn't mean anything else, I just wanted the child to stop being naughty."

"Your mother is right. You should not only listen to your aunt, but also to everyone in the family."

The family finished their meal in a lively atmosphere.

Zhou knew Chunxiao would need to light the charcoal stove when she got home, so she hurried to the field to pull a few radishes and some cabbages. She also picked some leeks nearby. Tian brought Chunxiao 20 eggs, leaving a dozen or so at home. Chunxiao thanked her, shouldered her backpack, and left with Zhou.
