Chapter 27 Follow Auntie to Eat Meat

"They are watching over Mom making clothes. Grandpa and I have already finished ours." Shuwen looked at the basket behind his father and asked, "Dad, what are you carrying?"

"Cotton, for making trousers."

Yan Bingfa and Tian came out soon and were a little surprised to see them. "Why are you here today? It's snowing."

"It's okay if it snows, but we can't get through if it rains," Zhou put down the backpack, "Go, call your second aunt and her three children over, so we can have lunch together today."

Shufeng and Xiaoqi followed Tian out and saw Zhou and Chunxiao, who were very happy. "Grandma, Auntie!" They called out happily. Shufeng, with her sharp eyes, noticed the oranges in Zhou's backpack and asked, "Grandma, did you buy oranges for us?"

Yan Qi came over when he heard it, "It's really Orange."

Although Tian was curious, she was an adult after all, so she just took a look into the backpack.

"This is what your aunt bought. We'll give each of you two later. Everyone has their share. Don't let anyone else eat it after you finish it. Today, in addition to the oranges, we also have meat." Zhou took out the meat and handed it to Tian. "Cook a big piece of meat and make some broth later so that everyone can have enough."

Tian looked at Zhou in surprise and asked, "Are they all cooked?" Under normal circumstances, this meat would be enough for at least five meals.

Zhou felt a little distressed and glanced at Chunxiao. "Just do it as I asked you to. Let's eat it open today. By the way, instead of making wowo, let's cook three kilograms of rice."

"Great!" The children were happy.

"What happened to you today?" Yan Bingfa looked at her disapprovingly. "Is it too late to live after today?"

"Mom was stimulated by Chunxiao." Dahai laughed on the side.

Zhang came over with the child, "Mom, you're here!"

"Chunxiao bought some meat today, so let's have a nice meal together. Oh, and Chunxiao bought some cloth to make cotton pants for everyone. I brought the cotton here too. I'll make your dad's, and you two can make your own pieces for the rest. Don't waste any of the cloth."

The two brothers gave the money to their wives. They were so happy to receive the money. They earned enough money to buy a pig in just a few days. Who wouldn't be happy? Now they have bought cotton-padded clothes and trousers, and can even eat meat. They looked at Chunxiao with gratitude.

"Just express your feelings in your hearts, and don't say corny words of thanks." Zhou was proud. "Okay, let's go cook. Dahe wife, you help Dashan wife."

"I understand, mother." The two sisters-in-law went to the kitchen together.

"Did you sell a lot today?" Yan Bingfa looked at Chunxiao and Zhou sharing oranges with the other children, and turned to ask his two sons.

"I did sell quite a few. Otherwise, where would I get the two taels of silver for my share?"

Yan Bingfa then nodded and smiled, "It's a good business."

"Of course it's a good business. If Chunxiao hadn't said that he could only burn 100 kilograms a day, I think it wouldn't be difficult to sell 200 kilograms."

"This good business won't last long. Chunxiao's family is running low on wood piles. It's been raining all day, and the wood on the mountain is wet and can't be used. I'm afraid we'll have to stop in a couple of days. I was still saying it was a pity today."

Yan Bingfa sighed, "What a pity! I should have prepared more wood earlier."

“That’s what I said today.”

Zhou handed each of them an orange and said, "Try it, it's a rare thing."

"We've already tasted it on the road today, and it's indeed sweet."

"Mom, what do you say if I plant two orange trees in the yard?"

"Where are you going to get that orange tree where someone will sell you a tree that bears fruit?"

"If I had planted it earlier, it would have borne fruit in a few years. There would surely be someone to sell this sapling."

"You have a lot of space over there, it would be nice to plant some fruit trees." Yan Bingfa ate an orange. "Let's go to the market next time there's a big market, maybe there will be some."

Zhou walked to the door and took a look. The ground was extremely wet. "Chunxiao wants a steamer. You can go to the bamboo craftsman this afternoon and tell him. It will probably take a few days to make it." If the ground wasn't wet, she would have wanted to go there right now.

"Okay, I'll go there this afternoon."

Several children took their oranges but were reluctant to eat them, and looked at the adults who were eating the oranges.

"Why don't you eat?" Chunxiao asked.

"Save it. Once you finish eating it, there will be no more." Yan Qi hugged the orange to his chest and looked at Yan Dashan with blinking eyes. "Dad, is it delicious?"

Yan Dashan thought he wanted to eat it, so he broke off two pieces for him.

The little guy shook his head and said, "Grandma said, eat your own food."

"Go, take two to the kitchen for your mother to eat. We agreed that everyone would have a share today." Zhou handed them two more oranges. The children ran away with a thud. A few minutes later, they came back with a thud. "Mother said the kitchen is too small and we're in the way if we stay in there."

"Auntie, please tell us a story. It's been a long time since I heard a story."

Someone made a suggestion and everyone agreed.

Chunxiao thought for a while and said, "Then let me tell you the story of Pinocchio." So the five children gathered around an adult and listened to the story.

When eating, everyone looked at the fragrant rice fresh from the pot, and their mouths watered before they even opened. "We've never eaten like this even during Chinese New Year."

"Just think of your mother having a seizure today."

"I'm not crazy." Zhou glared at Yan Bingfa angrily. "I let you guys have a good meal and you didn't get any good results. I eat fine noodles every day over there, and I feel bad seeing you eat coarse grains. If you want to eat coarse grains, go ahead."

"I say, you old woman, your temper is getting worse and worse. You say ten things back to me for every one I say to you. Okay, okay, you're always right."

"Grandma, I want to eat noodles every day too." Yan Qi looked at Zhou eagerly, "I want to go to my aunt's house to eat noodles."
