As soon as Shang Wu and Lu Rang entered the door, before they even had a chance to change their shoes, they heard Lu You's wailing filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred coming from the living room.
"Wow! You two are packing up to go have some alone time? That's so cool!"
When Shang Wu entered the room, she saw Lu You sprawled on the sofa, looking utterly dejected.
Cheng Zhou sat beside him, holding Xiao Chenyu, who had fallen asleep after playing, feeling both helpless and amused.
"Sister, what brings you here?" Shang Wu walked over with a smile.
"I just came to see you two heartless bastards! You actually abandoned us so callously to go off and have your own fun!"
Lu You sat up and pointed accusingly at the suitcase that Lu Rang had already prepared.
"Look, look! You've even packed your luggage! You're quick on your feet, you must have been planning this trip a long time ago!"
Lu Rang changed into his slippers without changing his expression, and said in a relaxed tone, "The children are all settled, what's wrong with us going on a trip? You can go in a couple of years too."
Upon hearing that it would take two years, Lu You nearly vomited blood in anger.
Cheng Zhou, holding his son, shook his head with a smile and said to Lu You, "Alright, stop being so sour. A-Rang and Shang Wu have worked so hard for so many years, it's only right that they relax a bit now."
He paused, looked at his son sleeping soundly in his arms, and deliberately sighed.
"Unlike us, we still have to continue to be this little devil's slaves."
These words struck a nerve with Lu You.
She exaggeratedly clutched her chest: "Oh no, oh no, this is even more sour! I want to travel too, I want to see the aurora too!"
Shang Wu was amused by her and went over to sit down next to her, taking her arm.
"Alright, when Chenyu is a little older, you can go out too. Then let Chenyu stay at our house for a few days, and A-Rang and I will help you take care of the child."
"That's more like it!" Lu You finally smiled broadly, then asked curiously, "Where are you planning to go first? Are you really going to see the aurora?"
“Okay.” Lu Rang nodded, his gaze softening as he turned to Shang Wu. “Let’s go to Tromsø first.”
Several days later.
Under the night sky of Tromsø.
There is no urban hustle and bustle or light pollution here; the nights in the Arctic Circle are deep and the temperature is very low.
Wrapped in thick winter clothes, the two sat by the fire, feeling a sense of peace.
All around was quiet, except for the faint sound of the wind blowing.
Suddenly, a faint green light began to sway and dance on the horizon.
"They're here," Lu Rang reminded them.
Shang Wu held his breath and looked up.
The green light grew clearer and brighter, spreading across the night sky, changing shapes, breathtakingly beautiful.
Nature reveals its wonders in the most breathtaking way.
Shang Wu was so engrossed in watching that she subconsciously gripped Lu Rang's hand tightly.
Lu Rang held her hand and pulled her closer to him, warming her with his body heat.
Just then, Shang Wu's phone vibrated slightly in his pocket.
She reluctantly looked away from the sky and took out her phone.
It was a message from Lu Yuwu.
"Mom and Dad, what are you doing? Fu Yan and I have arrived at the apartment! It's even more beautiful and comfortable than I imagined! It's fantastic!"
She then posted several photos.
One photo shows the bright floor-to-ceiling window of the apartment's living room, with dazzling lights shining outside.
The other picture shows a table with pasta and salad that look quite appetizing, which the two of them obviously made themselves.
Immediately afterwards, Fu Yan also sent a message.
"Uncle and Aunt, please rest assured, everything is settled. We will be fine."
Shang Wu smiled and turned her phone screen towards Lu Rang, "Look."
Lu Rang looked down, his eyebrows and eyes appearing incredibly gentle in the dim light of his phone.
He glanced at the messages from the children reporting that they were safe, then looked up at the aurora borealis on the horizon.
Shang Wu leaned closer curiously: "What are you thinking about? Are you crying because you miss Xiao Wu?"
Lu Rang cupped her face in his hands and looked down at her intently.
"I was just thinking..."
"I want to do something."
Shang Wu was slightly taken aback.
The two looked at each other, needing no words.
Under the aurora, Lu Rang lowered his head and kissed Shang Wu's slightly cool lips.
Shang Wu closed her eyes and responded to his kiss, her hands tightly clasped with his.
The aurora borealis danced in the night sky.
As time goes by, they will continue to walk hand in hand.
