"I was wrong, I was wrong, okay? I came here because I have something important to tell you. Do you know that something seems to have happened at Jinshui Law Firm?"
Lu Rang paused slightly.
"I heard someone say that they're deliberately ripping people off for taking the boat," Yan Yue said with a gossipy look on his face.
Lu Rang's expression turned cold as he pushed the text message sent by Shang Wu to her.
Yan Yue bent down and looked, and immediately raised his eyebrows in surprise, tilting his head at Lu Rang.
"I understand now. It was all Shang Wu's doing. She wanted to help us bring down Jinshui, and she really kept her word. That's impressive!"
Lu Rang withdrew his gaze, his face still exuding a hint of coldness.
Yan Yue stared at his expression, her heart tightening: "What's wrong with you? You look strange, like you're very unhappy. Isn't something like this something to be happy about?"
Lu Rang didn't speak, he just pursed his lips.
Yan Yue leaned closer, wanting to find out what was going on, when his little finger accidentally touched the keyboard.
The computer screen suddenly lit up.
He saw the news above, paused, and stared wide-eyed.
"How come she announced her engagement to Zhou Yanci? Is it true? Didn't she tell you?"
Lu Rang lightly touched the keyboard with his slender fingertips, locked the computer again, and glanced back at Yan Yue with a lingering look.
"What's my relationship with her? Why would she tell me such private matters?"
His words were cold.
Yan Yue burst out laughing, a laugh that was rather irritating. He sat down opposite him.
"Why do you look to me like you've fallen for her and are jealous that she married Zhou Yanci?"
Lu Rang didn't speak, but pursed his slightly cool lips, a hint of displeasure in his eyes.
Seeing that he was really unhappy, Yan Yue stopped teasing him and simply tapped the table.
"Don't worry, Miss Shang definitely has her own plans. That man is disgusting, how could she possibly marry him? You're overthinking it."
Lu Rang was still in a bad mood and pondered for a moment before saying, "You'll be helping me with this case these next few days. The task of Jinshui Law Firm is now yours."
"And what about you?" Yan Yue was taken aback. "You can't just quit because you're unhappy, can you?"
Lu Rang gave him a deep look, then lowered his eyes.
"I have more important things to do."
Yan Yue couldn't help but mutter, "Isn't something related to Miss Shang the most important thing to you?"
Zhou Yanci narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze containing a sharp warning.
Yan Yue dared not say anything more and quickly raised his hands in surrender.
"Alright, alright, go take care of your own business, I'll take care of Jinshui!"
After everyone left, Lu Rang sat at the table in silence for a moment, then got up and sorted out all the documents on the table, putting them into the filing cabinet.
He picked up his car keys and office keys, unplugged the power, turned off the lights, then grabbed his coat hanging behind the door, draped it over his arm, and left without looking back.
...
As night fell, Shang Wu took a shower, lay in bed, and picked up her phone.
She had already sent Lu Rang a text message, but when she checked her phone, there was no reply.
Yan Yue, however, said that he would handle the matter personally.
A look of surprise flashed across Shang Wu's eyes.
What is Lu Rang doing? He's clearly her legal advisor and personal lawyer, yet he's not handling this personally and is just dumping it on Yan Yue?
What did he go about?
After thinking for a moment, Shang Wu directly called Lu Rang.
The next second, a notification sound rang out.
The number you dialed is currently switched off.
Shang Wu frowned slightly, lost in thought, and decided to put her phone aside and rest first.
Over the next few days, Yan Yue handled the case at Jinshui Law Firm with great speed and efficiency.
The company is also under Shangwu's control.
Lu Rang never showed up.
On the third day after he disappeared, Shang Wu began to be absent-minded, constantly looking at the calendar and drifting off into thought.
Aying placed a document in front of her, pointed to the contract, and said helplessly, "President Shang, you signed the wrong document."
Shang Wu glanced at the name on the signature page.
"No problem, isn't it Lu Rang?"
Aying looked at her with a hesitant expression.
Shang Wu understood in an instant, a hint of barely perceptible embarrassment showing in her eyes.
She coughed lightly, crossed out Lu Rang's name in the signature area, and signed her own name again.
Shang Wu rubbed his temples and handed her the documents.
"I've been too tired lately, so I didn't see clearly."
Aying smiled meaningfully: "I think you're not too tired, you're just thinking about Lawyer Lu, right? Speaking of which, why hasn't he come over for several days?"
Shang Wu shook her head and said casually, "I don't know, it should be nothing serious."
After she finished speaking, her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn't help but start speculating.
Could it be that Zhou Yanci, seeing that the others at Dingfeng have already taken over the Jinshui case, still doesn't intend to let Lu Rang go?
