The living room was spacious, but the atmosphere was so tense it was suffocating.
Zhou Yanci's nerves were on edge, and a cold, low growl escaped his throat.
"Speak! Give me an explanation!"
Shang Wu turned to the side and sat on the sofa, her eyelashes casting shadows under her eyes as she lowered her gaze.
She casually curled her lips: "You believed me?"
Zhou Yanci reached out and pinched her chin, lifting her face up, a hint of madness in his eyes.
"I want an explanation! Don't try to play word games with me!"
Shang Wu chuckled as she watched him lose control. Even though he was clearly under her control, she remained unhurried, as if she were luring her prey.
"What do you want me to explain? Explain these photos that are misleading and have no authenticity whatsoever? Or explain why you have no trust in me at all, and believed I was having an affair with another man the moment you saw the photos?"
Zhou Yanci was taken aback.
Shang Wu pushed his hand away, stood up, and a hint of mockery flickered in her eyes.
“Zhou Yanci, I’m busy every day and tired from work. I don’t have time to play this boring self-proof game with you! If you doubt me, then throw real, convincing evidence in front of me and leave me speechless.”
Zhou Yanci clenched his fists, unable to utter a single word.
"And another thing," Shang Wu picked up the photo and scoffed, "who gave you this?"
Zhou Yanci's eyes flickered, and she pursed her lips: "Lu Wuwei."
Shang Wu laughed: "He swindled so much money from you, and you still believe him? He hates me for exposing this, he hates me for ruining the entire Jinshui Law Firm, of course he will frame me and sow discord."
Zhou Yanci fell silent.
This is not enough to show that there was nothing between Shang Wu and Lu Rang.
As he sat there waiting for Shang Wu, he thought about many things from the past.
Shangwu wasn't like this before.
Her decisive and efficient work style did not mean she was cold to him. On the contrary, for the past three years, she had always been around him, clinging to him and wishing she could solve all his problems in life.
Her gaze was gentle, like a spring breeze.
But at some point, Shang Wu's gaze changed.
He simply assumed that the change was due to his relationship with Shen Mian, which angered Shang Wu.
Until he saw the photo.
In the photo, Shang Wu's eyes were filled with restrained emotions as she looked at Lu Rang.
That was something I had never done before when facing him.
Zhou Yanci pursed her lips tightly, took a deep breath, and said, "Shang Wu, do you still want to be with me?"
Shang Wu was taken aback: "What do you mean?"
Zhou Yanci stood up and stared at her intently: "If you still want to be with me and cherish me, then fire Lu Rang and make him disappear from your life completely. Only then can I believe that you have no feelings for him."
Shang Wu paused for a moment, then subconsciously said, "There are many things going on at the company..."
“Lawyers aren’t all dead in this world,” Zhou Yanci interrupted her.
It's not that I can't live without him.
There was no reason not to drive Lu Rang away.
Shang Wu's breathing became slightly labored, and after a while, her cell phone suddenly rang.
Before she could react, Zhou Yanci snatched the phone from her hand when she saw that it was Lu Rang calling.

Zhou Yanci blocked her with one hand and answered the phone with the other, holding it to her ear.
He said in a deep voice, “Lu Rang, I am officially informing you that starting tomorrow, you no longer need to go to work at the company, and you are no longer Shang Wu’s legal counsel. She has decided to dismiss you!”
Shang Wu's expression changed completely: "Zhou Yanci!"
Zhou Yanci's eyes flashed sharply for a moment before she turned her head and stared intently at her, blurting out, "Your parents are still upstairs. Do you want them to know that you're arguing with me here over a man?"
Shang Wu clenched his fists tightly, a murderous intent rising within him.
At that moment, Lu Rang's indifferent voice came from the phone.
"I'm resigning. Don't alarm Shang Wu's family."
Beep beep beep—
The call ended.
Shang Wu's eyes turned cold as she took the phone back and asked indifferently, "Are you satisfied now?"
Zhou Yanci snapped out of her daze and looked at her cold eyes. Even though she had already dealt with Lu Rang, she still felt inexplicably uncomfortable.
He couldn't help but sneer, "He really didn't want to cause you any trouble. As soon as he heard it would involve your parents, he quit his job in a panic."
Shang Wu said expressionlessly, "Have you said enough? If you have, then get out."
Zhou Yanci's heart skipped a beat, and she slowly clenched her fist.
He felt inexplicably depressed and afraid.
During this period, he lost too much.
The company, the shares, and Shen Mian's child.
He could accept letting Shang Wu keep all these things for the time being, but he couldn't accept that this woman would change her mind and end up taking what he had worked so hard for and turning around to date a handsome young lawyer.
Zhou Yanci looked up at the tightly closed door upstairs.
"Ah Wu, you're making me feel more and more insecure. I think we should get our marriage certificate first."
Shang Wu paused, thinking she had misheard: "What?"
"The wedding will be at the end of the month, and we'll get the marriage certificate now, so I won't have to suspect anything between you and Lu Rang."
Zhou Yanci approached step by step: "Let's get our marriage certificate tomorrow. I'll pick you up at eight o'clock."
Without hesitation, Shang Wu replied, "Tomorrow is Sunday."
"Then the day after tomorrow."
Zhou Yanci stared intently at her: "You have no choice but to agree to this. If you disagree, I will immediately convene the board of directors to take back Chengzhou Group. You will have to hand over the shares and assets that were given to you."
Shang Wu chuckled and said sarcastically, "You're threatening me with these?"
"Isn't that enough?"
