Chapter 25 A sudden encounter
Qiu Xuan had never felt the dagger in his hand so cold, it made him shiver.
"Is Your Highness passing by by chance again tonight?"
After saying this, Qiu Xuan almost made himself laugh.
What's going on? Are you trying to get away with it by pretending to be stupid?
Jiang Jinhan still had that approachable smile on his face, and he stepped aside to make way.
Is this how it gets?
Now is not the time to delve into this, Qiu Xuan pulled Liu Hui out.
She was not worried that Jiang Jinhan would take her life. Things were different now. She was involved in too many things, and if she died, it would be easy for people to make a fuss about her.
The road leading out of the cell was blocked by secret guards in black clothes and carrying knives, so Qiu Xuan had to pass by them carefully.
I just don’t know what Jiang Jinhan is going to do, which is a bit of a pity.
These secret guards all drew their knives, pointing the tips of their knives at Qiu Xuan's two attendants.
A gust of wind blew by, and Qiu Xuan subconsciously dodged the wind, and his sleeve brought the wine jar off the table.
Almost at the same time as the wine jar shattered, Qiu Xuan turned around and looked at Jiang Jinhan.
He flipped his hand again, which meant he was sending the guest away.
The strong aroma of wine made Qiu Xuan's mind echo with a sentence.
"As the saying goes, if you don't accept a toast, you'll have to drink the wine for punishment."
It’s a good opportunity to taste the penalty wine.
"Second Prince, this was planned by me alone, not by the Marquis' Mansion."
Qiu Xuan pointed at his two guards and said, "Let me take them back too."
Jiang Jinhan lowered his head and chuckled, "Sheren Qiu is truly loyal to the Marquis' Mansion."
You are really wronging me.
Qiu Xuan glanced at his guards, who had already closed their eyes in resignation.
"Your Highness has misunderstood. I was only asked by a friend to come and rescue Liu Hui. No one in the Marquis' Mansion knows about this."
"A friend asked me to do this, Ji Yao?" Jiang Jinhan looked at Liu Hui, scaring the latter so much that she stuck close to Qiu Xuan.
"Your Highness, think about it carefully. If this matter was arranged by the Marquis' Mansion, why would they act so crudely?"
"Rough?" Jiang Jinhan savored the word with a smile. He raised his hand and the secret guard put away the knife.
Before Qiu Xuan could even breathe a sigh of relief, she was choked by what she heard next.
"Your little trick almost ruined my business."
"I don't understand what Your Highness is saying." Qiu Xuan asked in a low voice.
A night owl cried out from outside.
"Can you pretend to be mute?" Jiang Jinhan suddenly asked.
Qiu Xuan nodded silently.
"Very good." Jiang Jinhan walked straight out.
Qiu Xuan hurriedly followed him, not forgetting to pull up Liu Hui's hood.
A wizard in black was waiting outside, and there was a pile of black things tied at his feet. When I got closer, I found that it seemed to be a man who was drunk.
It's a shaman village.
Qiu Xuan quickly lowered her head to hide the shock in her eyes.
Why did Jiang Jinhan want to kill Ji Zhuang? Did Wu Zhuang know about this? Aren't they allies?
She glanced at Jiang Jinhan's back out of the corner of her eye, wondering what he was planning.
Thousands of thoughts flashed through Qiu Xuan's mind, but the cold wind blew them away.
Save your life first.
The cold wind blew through the streets and alleys, rushing towards the people standing in the dark. The black-robed wizard's robe was pressed tightly against his body by the wind.
He has no right arm.
"Who is she?" the black-robed wizard pointed at Qiu Xuan and asked.
Jiang Jinhan turned around and glanced at Qiu Xuan: "My people."
Temporarily, just tonight, Qiu Xuan added to him in his heart.
Qiu Xuan pulled Liu Hui and felt her hand trembling. It seemed that she knew this one-armed wizard and he had a very high status.
The black-robed mage gave Qiu Xuan a meaningful look, then turned to Jiang Jinhan and said, "Your Highness, please stay and watch."
"I trust you." Jiang Jinhan said nothing more and was about to leave with Qiuxuan.
As everyone passed by the Armless Mage, he suddenly pointed at Qiu Xuan's two guards and asked:
"It was these two who captured Wu Zhu Liu and brought him back. Were they also arranged by Your Highness?"
This wizard was quite skilled. Even in such dim light and with the two guards' appearances slightly altered, he was able to recognize them.
"Your Highness, this is different from what we agreed upon."
Qiu Xuan looked at Jiang Jinhan, who had a cold face and stared at her as if she were a dead person.
Qiu Xuan didn't say a word and immediately knelt on one knee in front of Jiang Jinhan.
Jiang Jinhan sneered, "You know how to hide after getting into trouble. I'll settle the score with you when I get back."
Then he looked at the mage with the broken arm and asked, "Do you want to leave a few people to help you clean up?"
Bei Feng grabbed the back of Qiu Xuan's neck, almost tearing her flesh apart and drilling into her bones. She could feel that this difficult wizard was looking at her and thinking about his next move.
Don’t look at it, Qiu Xuan rolled her eyes secretly. It’s impossible for the Second Prince to punish his own people in front of outsiders.
The Armless Mage didn't dare to delay for too long, so he could only say, "Please rest assured, Your Highness."
"Nothing's the best." Jiang Jinhan said, then glared at Qiu Xuan, "Are you not leaving yet?"
Outside the alley, there was another carriage parked next to Qiu Xuan's carriage, which was probably the second prince's.
I heard that the Second Prince was seriously injured, and even if he was cured, he would still have a chronic illness and could not stand the wind.
Qiu Xuan thought that the wind tonight would probably be enough for him to bear.
Liu Hui was taken into the car at the back.
Qiu Xuan couldn't help but lift the carriage curtain and turned back to look for Liu Hui and the attendant. Liu Hui was invited to get on the carriage, and the remaining two guards walked on both sides of the carriage under the strict supervision of Jiang Jinhan's men.
"You worry about yourself first."
"Your Highness, are you going to kill me?" Qiu Xuan said to Jiang Jinhan, "Killing me is pointless."
"Is it worth saving you?" Jiang Jinhan asked back and said nothing more.
The carriage slowly drove out of the alley, and in the distance, the sound of drunken people chanting spells together could be heard at the ceremony.
Qiu Xuan glanced at Jiang Jinhan, who was resting with his eyes closed and not moving.
She plucked up her courage, lifted the curtain a little and looked back.
The wind was strong tonight, and the flames shot up high, reflecting on the gray brick wall, entangled with the wind into dancing ghostly shadows.
"In the end, it was Ji Zhuang who died." Qiu Xuan muttered to himself.
Although there were some unexpected things during the process, the ending inexplicably went according to her original idea.
"You want to kill Ji Zhuang?"
"Your Highness, you're joking. I don't have the manpower," Qiu Xuan turned around. "The bamboo cage was originally prepared for Liu Hui. Can Ji Zhuang fit in it?"
"Let the person in charge of the burning figure it out."
Jiang Jinhan, disturbed, opened his eyes, examined Qiu Xuan, and suddenly sighed, "No wonder Ning Jia likes you so much. It seems half of the troubles she got into in the past were your idea."
Qiu Xuan recalled cautiously, "At least about 70 to 80 percent."
Jiang Jinhan sneered, "Mrs. Nangong is old and soft-hearted. You've been in the Marquis' Mansion for three years, but you haven't learned to follow the rules."
Does His Highness just follow the rules? He ran out in the middle of the night without paying any attention to the palace ban.
"Your Highness is right." Qiu Xuan was too lazy to show off and just complained in his heart.
The carriage was driving in the quiet alley. There was no curfew in the capital, but the merchants and residents around here either gathered under the locust trees early in the morning, or those who did not want to get involved closed their doors for fear of causing trouble.
The alley was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop, not to mention the sound of rapid and orderly footsteps.
"Someone's coming." Qiu Xuan looked at Jiang Jinhan. "Is this the person who's supposed to pick up His Highness?"
