Lin Yue went around to the other side, kicked off her shoes, and pounced into his arms like a cat, finding a comfortable position to rub against his chest.
Song Yunzheng embraced her contentedly, feeling her fragrant and soft body; it was very comfortable to hold her.
"I may have to go on a business trip for a while."
He had been thinking about how to bring it up with her before she came out of the bathroom.
Lin Yue was slightly taken aback, and looked up at him: "Where are we going?"
"Go to Shanghai..."
How long will it take?
"Six months..." Song Yunzheng answered truthfully.
"Six months?!" Lin Yue suddenly sat up from his arms, her eyes wide open, and asked uncertainly, "Was she staying there the whole time?"
"Um."
"I want to go too!"
“No!” Song Yunzheng immediately refused.
Lin Yue asked, puzzled, "Why? You took me with you on your last business trip, why not this time?"
Facing her clear, bright eyes, Song Yunzheng felt a sharp pain in his heart. He hurriedly lowered his gaze, afraid that she would see the evasiveness in his eyes.
"School will start again after summer vacation, time flies. You stay at home and wait for me. I'll come back to see you when I have time."
How often do you come back?
"I don't know, anyway... I'll come back when I have time." Song Yunzheng pulled her back into his arms. "Okay, it's late, go to sleep."
Lin Yue tilted her head back and stared at him intently, trying to find some clues on his face.
These past few days, the surface appeared calm and still, like a stagnant pool, without a ripple. However, she had already sensed an uneasy atmosphere, one that followed her like a shadow. Like a dark cloud, it weighed heavily on her heart, one that she couldn't ignore even if she wanted to.
"Are you angry with me? I accidentally fell into the sea and almost lost my life, which made you worry, so you're punishing me like this?" Lin Yue said in a very soft voice, expressing her concern.
"Nonsense, that's not true. I'm doing this for work." Song Yunzheng closed his eyes tightly. He was lying, and he was trying to convince himself.
"Can I come see you?" Lin Yue suddenly sat up and stared at him.
Song Yunzheng pulled her into his arms again, saying helplessly, "No, this business trip... has a heavy workload, and I can't spare the time to be with you."
"I don't need you to come with me, I can manage on my own..."
"No!" He interrupted her assumption sharply, then softened his voice, realizing he had overreacted, as if pleading, "Don't run off on your own. Wait for me to come back. I'll go wherever you want to go, okay?"
"All right."
Lin Yue verbally agreed, pretending to be quiet with her eyes lightly closed, but in her mind she was already planning how to sneak a peek at him. If he wouldn't let her go, she would just make sure he didn't find out.
After a long while, the bedroom was so quiet that they could clearly hear each other's heartbeats. The person in his arms had fallen asleep, but her hands were tightly clutching his clothes at his chest, as if afraid he would run away. The expression on her face was peaceful and content, as if she was having a sweet dream. The corners of her mouth were slightly upturned, and her thick eyelashes trembled gently.
Song Yunzheng gently kissed her forehead and whispered, "I'm sorry..."

On a chilly morning, the first warm and gentle rays of dawn shone through the window curtains into the room, with dust particles floating in the beam of light.
The man on the bed rubbed his temples and opened his eyes. His dark eyes gradually cleared. He turned to his side, carefully pulled his arm, which had been pressed down all night, and rubbed it.
The bustling noise outside the window was not very clear, but it came from a distance. He glanced at the time; it was just seven o'clock. It was the last day, and he still had a lot of things to arrange. He had to hurry.
After making breakfast, Song Yunzheng began to print out the usage instructions and precautions for each appliance in the house and stick them on the computer.
After Lin Yue got up, he still held her hand and demonstrated how to use all the appliances.
Important family documents were also neatly packaged and placed in prominent locations, in case she couldn't find them.
He repeatedly told her not to cook for herself and not to touch fire, because just thinking about her cooking at home alone made him anxious.
Fearing she might rebel, he still put up instructions on how to use all the kitchen appliances, showing her how to turn on the gas stove and how to adjust the flame...
"Maybe I should lock the kitchen door. I'm really worried!" Song Yunzheng said earnestly, holding her shoulder.
"Since you're so worried, then take me with you. I'll be back a week before school starts."
Lin Yue smiled and continued trying to persuade the man.
Song Yunzheng shook his head helplessly and reached out to rub her head. "I'm not here anymore, so you must take good care of yourself. No one is watching you anymore. Don't eat anything outside, and eat less ice and less spicy food. If you're scared at home alone, ask Yunxi to come and keep you company, or you can go back to Courtyard No. 15, or ask Jiang Li to come and keep you company. Anything is fine as long as you're happy..."
He gave Yunxi a thousand and one instructions, and even though the house was almost covered with sticky notes, he still felt it wasn't enough and gave her the instructions again.
Hearing his rambling, Lin Yue suddenly felt a surge of panic. She pouted and tugged at his sleeve, "Honey, what do you mean by this? You've explained everything clearly, are you not planning to come back?"
A faint smile remained on Song Yunzheng's lips as he stroked her face with his fingertips. "Where else could I go if I don't come back? If things go smoothly, I might be back in a month, so you have to keep the house clean. If I come back and find it a mess, I'll spank you."
As he spoke, his large hand lightly patted her buttocks twice.
Lin Yue frowned, neither dodging nor speaking, just staring at him.
