Li Laosan pulled the blanket back up.
"She beat me up yesterday, and I'm in pain all over. I don't want to get up right now."
Mom, bring the food over when you've finished cooking. I'll eat and then take a nap.
Dealing with her is easy; didn't you say you'd just burn her to death?
When she comes back, we'll lock that room over there, then set it on fire. I bet it'll burn her to death.
That was indeed what Granny Li had thought before.
But now she has changed her mind. She is afraid that if the fire burns down that house, it will spread to their house and then to her own.
"No, what if the fire spreads to the houses on this side?"
If we don't control it properly, we could burn our whole house down.
If this method doesn't work, try another one!
Li Laosan lay on the kang (a heated brick bed), his body aching all over from Lin Shihan's beating, and he didn't want to move at all.
"If you don't want to burn it, then just lure her to the riverbank tomorrow and push her in to drown."
Granny Li's eyes lit up when she heard him say that.
“Your idea is good. I’ll lure her to the lotus pond tomorrow. The pond is full of muddy silt. If she falls in, it will be hard for her to get out.”
Lin Shih-Han was looking for snakes on the mountain when she received a notification. She took out her phone and saw the surveillance footage of Granny Li's house.
Fast forward a bit and you can see the surveillance footage in the yard, which shows that Chen Jiang and his group came here.
They probably want to retrieve the book.
Listening to their conversation in the surveillance footage, it turns out that Secretary Kang has no daughter.
Hearing their questions about her room again, Lin Shih-Han suddenly had an idea.
When she returned home that evening, she went back to her room as usual.
Old Lady Li quietly came to her window and peered inside through the crack.
I looked for a long time but didn't see anything.
Lin Shih-han was nowhere to be seen in the room.
Granny Li was greatly alarmed. What was going on?
She clearly saw Lin Shih-han go back into the house, so why was there no one inside?
He immediately jumped up and ran back inside.
"Third brother, stop lying down and get up. You've been lying down all day."
Go check that room quickly, there's no one inside.
Li Laosan lay in bed all day and still didn't want to move, feeling pain all over his body.
"Oh, won't there be someone to take care of her when she gets back?"
"She came back. I saw her go inside, but there was no one there."
"Get up quickly and come with me to her room to see her."
Li Laosan remained lying on the kang (a heated brick bed), unwilling to move.
"I'm in pain all over my body, I don't want to get up. Maybe you didn't see clearly, why don't you take another look?"
Hearing him say that, Granny Li became a little uncertain again, and went back to Lin Shih-han's window.
Peeking through the window crack, I opened one eye and closed the other.
Suddenly, Lin Shih-han's face loomed large in front of her.
"Ahh!"
She gasped in fright, her heart nearly leaping out of her chest.
After scaring Granny Li, Lin Shih-han returned to the space.
Granny Li was so frightened by her that her heart pounded, and she felt like she was going to be scared to death.
"Lin Shihhan, you little bitch, did you do this on purpose?"
Lin Shih-han hid in her space, too lazy to pay attention to her, and even now, hearing her cursing, she didn't plan to go out.
Granny Li called out for a while but no one answered. She then pushed open the window and saw that there was no one inside. Instantly, she felt a chill run down her spine.
There were people just now, but now they're all gone?
Granny Li felt that Lin Shih-han was making her paranoid.
She looked around the house but couldn't find anyone. Suddenly, the window she had opened was closed, which startled her again.
"Ouch!"
Clutching her chest, she dared not touch the window again and turned back to her room.
They crept up to Li Laosan's head furtively.
"Third brother, third brother!"
"Go check that room and see if that little bitch is inside. I have this creepy feeling about her."
Li Laosan was lying in bed and didn't want to move. When he heard her say that, he turned over and continued to lie there.
"I'm in too much pain and don't want to move. You can go by yourself, or just leave her alone."
"That won't do."
"Forget it, I won't go. I'll take her to the lotus pond tomorrow."
The next morning, before Lin Shih-han had left the house, Granny Li called out to her.
Wait a minute, come with me to dig some lotus roots today.
Lin Shih-Han understood everything she heard.
This is like someone trying to push themselves into a pond and drown.
"OK!"
Your mother-in-law originally thought she would have to spend a lot of time explaining.
Unexpectedly, Lin Shih-han agreed so quickly.
She dared not delay any longer, and took Li Shih-han out with her basket.
The two of them came to a pond.
"Is this the pond?"
There are only a few sparse lotus flowers in this pond; how could there possibly be lotus roots?
Granny Li reached out from behind her.
"Whether it's there or not, we'll find out by going down and taking a look!"
After saying that, she shoved Lin Shih-han hard.
Lin Shih-Han fell into the water with a splash.
"Help! Help me!"
Granny Li shouted triumphantly from the shore.
“Over there, pick that one over there.”
As she spoke, she quickly looked around to see if anyone was there. Only when she saw that no one was around did she feel relieved.
Looking at Lin Shih-han in the water, she had stopped struggling and sank to the bottom.
Granny Li waited outside for a while, but she still didn't come up.
That confirmed that the person was probably completely dead.
After all, it's been such a long time; even if you held your breath, you couldn't hold it for that long.
The thought of her annoying daughter-in-law dying made her feel much better.
He immediately slapped his thigh and started crying.
"Oh dear, someone help me!"
