Chapter 5 Cat Fishing
The next day, Yin Jiu got up at 6:30 to have class at 8 a.m.
Ning Changyue slept on the sofa last night, but climbed onto the bed again in the middle of the night. He woke up as soon as Yin Jiu moved.
He used his hands and feet to hook the person, but without opening his eyes, he asked in a daze, "Where are you going?"
Yin Jiu pulled down his messy legs and explained gently, "I told you yesterday that I have to go back to school today."
Ning Changyue responded vaguely, let go of him, turned over and fell asleep again.
After washing up, Yin Jiu said softly, "Let's go," and went out.
He was sent to the hospital on Friday and did not return to school for two days over the weekend, so he had to go back to the dormitory to get his books.
It was almost 7:30 when I arrived at the dormitory. I could have arrived earlier, but I bought some breakfast on the way, which delayed me a little.
Except for the eldest, the other two are still sleeping in bed.
The eldest was reading a book. He was the most studious person among the four people in the dormitory. When he saw Yin Jiu opening the door and coming in, he greeted him, "Good morning."
"Good morning. I brought some breakfast for you. Help yourselves." Putting the breakfast on the table, Yin Jiu went to get the professional books he would need for class later.
Hearing that there was food, the third child, who was still fighting for the bed, poked his head out and said something caring: "Fourth child, why do I feel like you have health problems recently? You were sick once at the beginning of the school year, and you fainted again on Friday. Have you had a thorough check-up? Is everything okay?"
The four of them went to the welcome party together on Friday, but only three of them came back. They called and the person who answered was the school teacher. They heard that Yin Jiu was in the hospital, and the three of them were thinking of visiting him the next morning.
But when I called the next morning, Yin Jiu said he had been discharged from the hospital.
"It's nothing, I just have hypoglycemia." Yin Jiu smiled, not wanting to talk about it any more, and asked, "Are you free tonight? I'll treat you to dinner."
The third brother gossiped, "What's the good news that you suddenly invited me to dinner?"
Yin Jiu said, "Nothing else. It's not like living on campus is no longer mandatory in the second year. I'm going to move back home. There should be fewer people coming to the dormitory in the future."
After these words were spoken, there was silence in the dormitory for a while, and then all three of them said they had time. The third one even deliberately sighed and said a few words of envy.
After he left, the third brother said, "Is this considered a party dinner?"
"Who says it's not true?" The second brother responded, saying, "It's not surprising, the fourth brother is different from us."
Even though the senior is the youngest, you can tell he is not the same type as them just by looking at the fact that he never plays games in the dormitory.
With a sigh, the third child rolled off the bed, took a seaweed roll and ate it. After two bites, he felt very unhappy and said, "Although the fourth child doesn't usually stay with us, he never misses any gatherings in the dormitory. If he doesn't live in the dormitory anymore, we probably won't have any contact in the future. He is... Actually, he is quite cold-hearted. It's really unpleasant to think about it."
The eldest brother smiled and shook his head, looking quite open-minded, saying: "Friendship between gentlemen is as pure as water. Why think so much? After all, we are friends. Can he not come when you invite him to have a meal together?"
The third brother thought about it and realized that this made sense, so he didn't think any more about it and started to share the breakfast on the table.
…
Before class, Yin Jiu sent two messages to Ning Changyue, asking him if he had gotten up and had eaten breakfast.
There was no reply from the other side, and Yin Jiu didn't care. After spending the past two days together, he knew that Ning Changyue was not the kind of person who was always carrying his cell phone. Not only did he not play with his cell phone, it could even be said that he hardly ever touched it.
So Yin Jiu didn't expect Ning Changyue to reply immediately. He just waited for him to remember to check his phone and see his message.
He muted his phone, turned it over on the desk, twirled his pen, and began to concentrate on the class.
The Finance Department of NTU is the school's top major. The professors are all experienced and they use many classic cases in their lectures. The lectures are both interesting and instructive, and are full of practical information.
Yin Jiu found it quite interesting and it was not boring to study it again. It was not until the class was over that he remembered to look at his phone.
Unexpectedly, Ning Changyue replied with just four short words: I got up and ate.
It seemed a bit perfunctory, but that was Ning Changyue's personality. Often Yin Jiu would say a lot while he would only say a few words, and most of the time he would just nod and shake his head.
Without dwelling on this point, Yin Jiu sent his class schedule and many messages detailing every detail.
Tell Ning Changyue that he will not be back at noon. If Ning Changyue wants to eat, there are small restaurants in the community. However, a restaurant in a residential area is certainly not a high-end restaurant with good taste, so Yin Jiu also gave a second plan. Ning Changyue can call Lao Li or send a message to ask Lao Li to deliver food to him. ⑦
Then if you want to go out, you can also ask Lao Li to pick you up, and his contact information has been saved.
After finishing his explanation, Yin Jiu put down his phone and laughed at himself in his heart: "What are you doing? You really treat me like a child."
Isn't it just a child? Yin Jiu was even worried that Ning Changyue would get lost after going out. It was outrageous enough.
Is he a potential boyfriend or a babysitter?
But no matter what, it feels good to have someone at home who he can care about.
Yin Jiu had a full schedule today. After the last class in the morning, he went to the cafeteria to have lunch. He didn't even have time to go back to the dormitory for a nap, so he had to rush to the afternoon class.
He sent Ning Changyue a few messages in the gap. Ning Changyue's location has not changed at home. When the positioning software is activated, there will be an online status. Ning Changyue probably has not turned it off. Every time Yin Jiu clicked on it, he could see that he was online.
I don't know if he was always looking at his position.
After finishing the last class in the afternoon, Yin Jiu went to see Ning Changyue's position again and found that the distance between him and her was less than one kilometer.
How should I put it? I'm not surprised at all.
Yin Jiu didn't even need to follow the positioning instructions and easily found Ning Changyue's location.
Just like in the past month, many evenings, on his way back to the dormitory, Yin Jiu would see a boy feeding cats on the roadside. When he noticed someone approaching, he would look up, without saying a word or taking the initiative to step forward, just staring quietly.
It’s hard to describe that look, a little arrogant, and a little aggrieved.
But from beginning to end, he seemed to firmly believe that the person he was waiting for would definitely take the initiative to walk towards him.
So it was not without reason that Yin Jiu said that Ning Changyue had been pursuing him. They had only met once or twice before the Mid-Autumn Festival, but after the Mid-Autumn Festival, he met her almost every day. It could no longer be explained by coincidence, but could only be said to be deliberate.
Time and again, Yin Jiu just walked past him indifferently, at most giving him a polite smile.
The two people who seem to have nothing in common actually meet each other every day.
What Yin Jiu knew, Yin Jiu knew.
He knew that Ning Changyue waited here every afternoon, waiting for him to approach her.
He also knew that Ning Changyue would not be able to find him during the seven-day National Day holiday, so she would go to wait outside his house every day and sit outside for several hours.
It wasn't a very clever trick, so Yin Jiu just pretended not to know and let it go.
Because his life or death was uncertain at that time, and he might not have a future.
So he didn't dare to think too deeply. Ning Changyue was never a choice he had no choice but to make.
He said that he was afraid of him.
How could he not be afraid of him? He had consciously fallen into this state a long time ago.
Yin Jiu felt that fate was funny sometimes. So many people, some pursuing him ardently, some pursuing him crazily, but in the end, were not as good as a casual glance from a stupid kid.
Yin Jiu ate this bait willingly.
Slowly approaching, Yin Jiu stopped beside Ning Changyue. This time, he stopped for him as he wished.
Reaching out and ruffling his hair, Yin Jiu said meaningfully: "Choose a time to go fishing when you are free. I think you are quite good at fishing."
Ning Changyue didn't understand what he meant and looked at him in confusion with his head tilted.
A fat orange dog that was busy eating heard Yin Jiu's voice, and moved closer to Yin Jiu, trying to rub against his trouser leg. However, before he could even start to act coquettishly, he was slapped away by Ning Changyue.
Fat Orange breathed at him angrily, and Ning Changyue was no less aggressive, trying to glare at it to death.
"Come on, I'll take you to have dinner with my roommate." Yin Jiu pulled him up and led him to the agreed place.
A party meal? No, it's just a regular dinner.
