Chapter 100 The Secret of the Blood Duck

Cold sweat was almost dripping down Lu Zhaoming's forehead.

The system's mechanical countdown sound was more piercing than a death knell!

72 hours?

We don't have much time left!

"Come here, everyone, let's have a meeting!" He called to Su Li, Qing Lian, and the others, his expression so serious it was almost palpable.

In the dimly lit room, several people sat together, the atmosphere so oppressive it was hard to breathe.

Lu Zhaoming slammed the information Xiao Que had provided onto the table, pointing to the few crooked lines of text: "Those bastards, Blood Raven, are developing a new type of experimental subject in a run-down factory on the outskirts of the city! They're said to be even smarter than zombies!"

Su Li gasped, a rare look of worry appearing on her alluring face: "That Chi Xiao is a madman!"

“It’s good that he’s crazy,” Lu Zhaoming grinned, revealing a dangerous smile. “If he weren’t crazy, we wouldn’t have had a chance to fish in troubled waters.”

He turned to look at Liu Yan, who had been silent all along, and patted him on the shoulder: "Liu Yan, we can't do without your help in this operation."

Liu Yan paused for a moment, a hint of struggle flashing in his eyes, but he finally nodded.

Having gone through so much, his trust in Lu Zhaoming is gradually being restored.

To ensure everything went smoothly, Lu Zhaoming contacted the seasoned veteran, Lao Lang, again.

"Uncle Wolf, can you do me a favor?" Lu Zhaoming said with a smile, his tone carrying a hint of threat. "Over there with Blood Raven, can you draw some of their fire?"

Upon hearing that he was going to oppose Red Owl, Old Wolf was so frightened that he almost jumped off his chair: "My lord, please spare me! That Red Owl is not someone to be trifled with!"

"Don't worry, you won't work for nothing," Lu Zhaoming offered as bait. "After it's done, you can choose any rare resources you want!"

Sure enough, upon hearing the words "rare resources," Old Wolf's eyes lit up, and he immediately patted his chest and assured them, "No problem! Leave it to me! I'll take my men and sneak off to Blood Raven's territory right now!"

Lu Zhaoming hung up the phone with satisfaction and then redeemed another mental interference module from the system.

This thing can create false information, making the Blood Raven's guards run around like headless flies.

"Let that Iron Hammer guy go eat mud!" Lu Zhaoming sneered.

Everything is ready, the operation officially begins!

As night fell, Lu Zhaoming led his team to quietly approach the factory's perimeter.

The towering walls and dense patrols all demonstrate the tight security here.

"Eyes of Judgment, open!" Lu Zhaoming silently chanted, his eyes instantly becoming incredibly sharp.

He quickly discovered a ventilation duct that led to the core control room.

"Qinglian, you're in charge of leading Xiaocao and providing support from the outside," Lu Zhaoming said in a low voice. "Su Li and I will go in through the pipe. Liu Yan, you stay outside and provide backup immediately if anything goes wrong!"

Qinglian nodded and held Xiaocao's hand tightly.

Su Li smiled charmingly and winked at Lu Zhaoming: "Don't worry, my little Lu Zhaoming, with me here, I guarantee you'll be fine!"

Lu Zhaoming rolled his eyes, thinking to himself that this woman never missed an opportunity to flirt with him.

After squeezing into the narrow ventilation duct, Lu Zhaoming and Su Li finally arrived at the control room.

Inside the control room, various complex instruments gleamed with a faint blue light.

Lu Zhaoming walked to a terminal and began to crack the system.

"System, help me!" he silently pleaded in his mind.

Following his instructions, the system began to operate at high speed, with lines of code jumping around rapidly.

"Successfully cracked!" The system's notification cheered Lu Zhaoming up.

He opened the file list, and an encrypted file caught his attention.

"Red Owl's plan?" Lu Zhaoming frowned and immediately clicked on it.

The file was opened, and lines of shocking text came into view.

"Using the antibody genes of grass to create 'perfect warriors'?" Lu Zhaoming gasped. "This Red Owl is truly ruthless!"

Even more terrifying, Red Owl also attempted to transform the entire wasteland into his experimental field!

"This madman!" Lu Zhaoming cursed angrily and downloaded the file without hesitation.

"Critical data detected. Download now?" the system prompt sounded again.

“Confirmed!” Lu Zhaoming said decisively.

However, just as the download progress bar reached 50%, a piercing alarm suddenly blared throughout the control room!

"Damn it! We've been discovered!" Lu Zhaoming cursed under his breath and immediately shut down the terminal.

"Hurry!" He grabbed Su Li and ran towards the ventilation duct.

Just as they were preparing to leave, a cold voice suddenly came from the broadcast, carrying a hint of mockery and sarcasm: "Lu Zhaoming, do you think I'll let you succeed so easily?"

"Damn it! You jinx!" Su Li spat, her alluring face filled with murderous intent.

Before he could finish speaking, the alloy door to the control room swung open with a loud bang!

Countless scarlet eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty light in the darkness.

The twisted and deformed experimental subjects emitted chilling roars and surged forward like a tide, instantly surrounding Lu Zhaoming and Su Li.

The air was filled with a pungent smell of blood and decay, making people want to vomit.

Lu Zhaoming gritted his teeth: "Looks like we have no choice but to force our way through! Su Li, stay close to me!"

He drew an alloy dagger from his waist, its cold light flashing as it drew a silver arc in the dim light.

"What's there to be afraid of! I haven't had enough fun yet!" Su Li chuckled, and a strangely shaped short gun appeared in her hand, its muzzle flashing with an eerie, ghostly blue light.

However, before they could launch their attack, the system issued a piercing alarm: "Warning! Warning! System energy remaining at 10%, the Eye of Judgment is about to shut down!"

Lu Zhaoming's heart sank, as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over him from head to toe.

Did they mess things up at this crucial moment?

Is this some kind of ridiculous rip-off?!

He forced down his anxiety, knowing that now was not the time to complain.

The eye of judgment began to blur, and the weaknesses that were once clear became ambiguous.

The screams of the experimental subjects grew closer, and a stench assaulted his nostrils. Lu Zhaoming felt as if he were inside a giant meat grinder, where he could be torn to pieces at any moment.

"Damn it, I'll risk it!" Lu Zhaoming roared, his muscles tensing to the extreme.

Facing the test subjects surging in from all directions, he struggled to hold on, trying to activate the Eye of Judgment again, only to find a figure flashing like a ghost in his vision, lunging towards Su Li...
