Chapter 104 Diving into the Abyss

"Sister Su Li, should we make a move?" Qinglian asked in a low voice.

Su Li squinted and carefully observed the convoy. Suddenly, she noticed a special mark on one of the trucks.

"Wait, don't act rashly. The markings on this truck seem to belong to... Blood Raven's experimental department!" Su Li said solemnly.

"Experimental department? Could it be... that this truck is carrying supplies related to Project Dawn?" Qinglian exclaimed.

"Very likely." Su Li nodded, a resolute glint in her eyes. "We must intercept this truck and see what's inside!"

After saying that, she took out a dagger from her waist and winked at Qinglian.

The two men, one on the left and one on the right, stealthily made their way towards the convoy.

After a fierce battle, Su Li and Qing Lian finally managed to intercept the truck. They opened the cargo compartment and found it was filled with all sorts of reagents and equipment.

"What...what are all these things?" Qinglian asked, looking puzzled.

Su Li carefully reviewed the documents in the carriage. Suddenly, her expression changed, and she exclaimed, "Oh no! Chi Xiao has developed a new type of virus that can accelerate the evolution of experimental subjects!"

"What?!" Qinglian's face turned deathly pale upon hearing this. "If this virus is released, the entire wasteland will be doomed!"

Su Li quickly relayed the message to Lu Zhaoming via communicator.

At this moment, Lu Zhaoming was lurking near the Blood Raven Command Center, attempting to steal more data about the "Dawn of Light" project.

Using the Eye of Judgment, he cracked the command center's firewall and successfully entered the terminal system.

He typed rapidly on the keyboard, lines of code leaping from his fingertips as he tried to find detailed information about Project Dawn.

Suddenly, he was required to enter a password to access the core database.

Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath

He closed his eyes, recalling the snippets of conversation he had overheard from the guard, trying to find clues to the code.

“Ruling the wasteland…the dawn of a new era…” Lu Zhaoming murmured to himself, when suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him.

He opened his eyes and typed a string of numbers on the keyboard – “”.

These are the numbers corresponding to the words "dawn and sunrise".

He held his breath and pressed the Enter key.

"Beep—beep—beep—"

A piercing alarm suddenly sounded, and red warning lights flashed wildly in the command center.

"Alarm! Alarm! The core database has been compromised!" A mechanical voice echoed in the command center.

"Lu Zhaoming, you really came." Chi Xiao's voice came from the broadcast, carrying a hint of coldness and mockery.

"Unfortunately, you can't escape this time." Before the words were finished, a large number of guards surged into the room like a tide, surrounding Lu Zhaoming.

Looking at the dense array of gun barrels around him, Lu Zhaoming knew he was in dire straits.

Just at this critical moment, a familiar voice suddenly rang out from the crowd.

"Stop it, all of you!"

Old Wolf pushed through the crowd and walked in. He looked at the guards with a serious expression and said loudly, "This man is the prisoner that Lord Blood Raven specifically requested. Get out of my way!"

The guards looked at each other, unsure of whose advice to take.

"Old Wolf, what do you want to do?" Red Owl's voice came from the broadcast again, tinged with anger.

“Lord Blood Raven, this man’s identity is unknown. I suspect he is a spy for another faction, so I arrested him and am preparing to hand him over to you for personal interrogation,” Old Wolf said neither humbly nor arrogantly.

"Hmph! Old Wolf, you'd better not try anything funny, or I'll make sure you die a horrible death!" Red Owl's voice was full of threat.

"Lord Blood Raven, rest assured, I would never dare to betray you," the old wolf said hastily.

After saying that, he winked at Lu Zhaoming and whispered, "Let's go!"

Lu Zhaoming understood immediately. Before the guards could react, he suddenly rushed out of the crowd and ran towards the outside of the command center.

"Grab him! Don't let him get away!" Red Owl's roar echoed in the command center.

The guards then seemed to wake from a dream and hurriedly chased after Lu Zhaoming.

Old Wolf watched Lu Zhaoming's retreating figure, a barely perceptible smile appearing on his face.

He turned around and said to the loudspeaker, "Lord Blood Raven, I have done my best, but this person is too cunning. I failed to capture him. Please punish me!"

"Hmph! Useless trash!" Chi Xiao cursed angrily and cut off the communication.

Old Wolf shrugged and turned to leave the command center.

Although he was temporarily out of danger, Lu Zhaoming knew that this was just the calm before the storm. He could feel that Chi Xiao's gaze was fixed on him like a venomous snake.

"Lu Zhaoming, do you think you can escape?"

Chi Xiao's voice rang out again over the radio, this time filled with amusement and confidence: "Everything you've done is under my control."

"Next, I'll show you what despair truly means..."

Although he was temporarily out of danger, Lu Zhaoming knew that this was just the calm before the storm, and that the cunning old fox Chi Xiao would definitely not let it go.

He sprinted along, his adrenaline surging, feeling like Yasuo with his sprint ability activated, a man as swift as the wind!

Back at the temporary base, Lu Zhaoming, without even catching his breath, immediately gathered Su Li, Qinglian, and Liu Yan and Lao Lang, who had just arrived.

"Brothers and sisters, the moment of final battle has arrived!" His eyes flashed as he scanned the crowd. "We need to devise a perfect backup plan—no, a final plan! To wipe them out in one fell swoop!"

The group sat around a simple table, discussing the raid plan in a lively and animated manner.

Lu Zhaoming silently activated a new function of the "Doomsday Judgment System"—energy shield.

A faint blue halo enveloped him, as if he had a built-in holy shield, instantly giving him a sense of security.

This thing can be a lifesaver in a critical moment, so we have to get it.

However, at that moment, a dialog box suddenly popped up on the system interface, with a line of blood-red text: "The host must complete the hidden mission 'The End of Dawn', otherwise the Judgment System will be permanently shut down."

"Holy crap?!" Lu Zhaoming was shocked. This is something serious!

"The End of Dawn"?

That doesn't sound like a good thing.

He clenched his fists, veins bulging, his eyes burning fiercely, as if he wanted to set everything ablaze.

"No matter the cost, I will end all of this. System, you just wait!"

As soon as Lu Zhaoming returned to the temporary base, he found a familiar figure standing at the door.
