Chapter 133 The Illusion Mystery and the Emergence of the Truth

Lu Zhaoming cursed inwardly and quickly activated the new function of the "Doomsday Judgment System"—"Mental Barrier".

A warm energy enveloped his thoughts like a protective shield, allowing him to temporarily resist the interference of the White Fox's illusion.

However, the white fox's attacks became increasingly fierce, and the false scenes created by the illusions repeatedly assaulted his senses.

At that moment, it was as if countless doors opened before his eyes, each with a different scene behind it: he saw himself being torn to pieces by countless mutated creatures, heard shrill screams echoing in his ears, and could even feel the cold iron chains binding his limbs.

These images came flooding in like a tidal wave, trying to completely overwhelm him.

But Lu Zhaoming was no ordinary person; his heart was already as firm as a rock.

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and completely immersed himself in the "mental barrier" provided by the system.

As time passed, those illusions gradually became blurred until they disappeared without a trace.

He opened his eyes again, and the scene before him returned to normal.

"Oh? It seems you've got some skills." The white fox's voice carried a hint of surprise as she slowly approached, her smile undiminished.

"But do you think this will stop me?"

Lu Zhaoming smirked coldly; his was Xiaomei.

But Lu Zhaoming had already noticed her presence.

He didn't turn around, but whispered, "Are you really willing to risk your life for Chi Xiao?" These words struck Xiao Mei's heart like a heavy hammer.

Her movements faltered, and the dagger in her hand trembled slightly.

Seizing the opportunity, Lu Zhaoming continued, "You know that Chi Xiao's 'Sky Dome Project' will bring destruction, yet he still wants to use it to control everyone." There was a strange attraction in his voice, as if it could penetrate the fog in the girl's heart.

Xiao Mei was stunned. Images of Chi Xiao's various actions flashed through her mind. Those actions that seemed to bring hope to the wasteland actually concealed unspeakable secrets.

Her resolve finally wavered, and the dagger in her hand quietly slipped to the ground.

"Red Owl... Is he really that scary?" Xiaomei's voice trembled, but her eyes gradually hardened.

Lu Zhaoming nodded: "Yes, he not only wants to control the wasteland, but also to control everyone's thoughts. Trust me, I can protect you."

Xiaomei knew this would bring destruction, but he didn't care.

A surge of anger rose in Lu Zhaoming's heart, but he quickly suppressed his emotions.

He smiled and said softly, "Thank you, Xiaomei. I will protect you and seek justice for you."

After eliminating the white fox's illusion, Lu Zhaoming was finally able to concentrate on his counterattack.

He activated the "Eye of Judgment," and the world before him became clear once again, with every detail laid bare.

The white fox's figure hesitated in the illusion, but he could clearly see her true form.

"Now, it's my turn." Lu Zhaoming Minghu let out a shrill scream, her body fell backward, and blood gushed from her wound.

"Judge, you will regret your decision today." White Fox looked at Lu Zhaoming with resentment, her voice tinged with despair.

She struggled to her feet, but ultimately collapsed to the ground, forced to retreat in dejection.

Lu Zhaoming did not give chase; he knew that the most important thing now was to protect Xiaomei and return to the team.

He quickly issued instructions to the system to initiate the emergency evacuation procedure.

Just as he was about to leave, Xiaomei suddenly grabbed his sleeve, her eyes glistening with tears: "Judge, thank you. I...I will help you."

Lu Zhaoming gently patted her shoulder. Before he could finish speaking, he suddenly stopped.

"Is something wrong?" Xiaomei asked nervously.

Lu Zhaoming did not answer, but nodded slightly and commanded in a low voice, "Get ready, let's go!" His eyes revealed a hint of determination, as if he had already foreseen the danger ahead.

He led Xiaomei quickly toward the evacuation point, but in his mind he was already planning a more comprehensive strategy.

"Professor Lin, I have important information to tell you..." Lu Zhaoming's voice echoed in his mind. He quickened his pace, and his expression became more serious.

Lu Zhaoming carried Xiao Mei with incredible speed, as if he were riding the latest "Skyrocket" rocket. The night was as thick as ink, pressing down on them and making their chests feel heavy.

Aside from their heavy breathing, the only sounds in the ruins were the screeching of their shoes against the rubble, a sound that sent chills down one's spine.

"Old man Lin! Hello? Can you hear me? I've dug up some incredible scoop!" Lu Zhaoming lowered his voice like a thief, using his heavily modified communicator that even his own mother wouldn't recognize to directly call Professor Lin, who was far away in the safe zone.

The night wind howled, cutting his face like tiny knives, but his voice, hey, was as steady as an old dog, without the slightest tremor.

A crackling sound came from the other end of the communicator, followed by Professor Lin's slightly hoarse, yet urgent voice: "Zhaoming? You're still alive and kicking, aren't you? That old hag White Fox didn't chop you up and feed you to the mutant dogs, did she?"

"Me? I look like I just had a massage! And I even managed to snag a lost little lamb along the way." Lu Zhaoming glanced at Xiao Mei, who was running around breathlessly with a pale face, and a wicked smile crept onto his lips. "Listen up, old man, Xiao Mei spilled the beans. That old bastard Chi Xiao is planning a massive conspiracy—'Annihilation Light' combined with his bullshit 'Sky Dome Project.' He wants to turn all the survivors into puppets in his hands, brainwash them one by one, and format them if they don't obey!"
