Chapter 97 The Shadow of the Blood Duck

Lu Zhaoming squinted at the ruins ravaged by artillery fire, the air thick with the pungent smell of gunpowder and a lingering stench of decay.

"Those bastards in white robes made such a big show, but in the end, it was all for nothing." He spat and said fiercely.

Su Li was busy bandaging Liu Yan's wounds, her technique skillful and efficient.

Qinglian held Xiaocao in her arms. Fear still lingered in the little girl's eyes, but when she saw Lu Zhaoming, she immediately showed a smile of relief.

"Check everyone's equipment and replenish ammunition." Lu Zhaoming's voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable authority. "The road ahead won't be easy." He then crouched down and patted Liu Yan's shoulder. "Old Liu, how are you feeling? Can you still hold on?"

Liu Yan grinned, revealing a bloodshot smile: "Don't worry, Mingzi, I'm not going to die. We brothers haven't even had a victory celebration together yet!"

Lu Zhaoming smiled too.

In the wasteland, there is no eternal peace, only constant battles and evolution.

He looked up at the sky, where the blood-red moon seemed to mock their insignificance and powerlessness.

Su Li walked over and handed him a water bottle: "What are your plans next?"

Lu Zhaoming took the kettle, gulped down a few mouthfuls, then wiped his mouth. "What we need to do is uproot them completely."

As he spoke, he pulled a metal fragment from his pocket, which he had found in the white-robed laboratory, and which was engraved with some strange symbols.

“This thing is interesting…” Lu Zhaoming stroked the metal fragment, a playful smile playing on his lips. “Looks like our journey is about to get some new ‘surprises.’” Then, as if remembering something, he suddenly looked up at Su Li and said, “By the way, haven’t you always wanted to know why I’m so amazing? Actually…”

He lowered his voice, leaned close to Su Li's ear, and whispered a few words mysteriously.

Upon hearing this, Su Li's eyes widened instantly, her face filled with disbelief.

She opened her mouth as if to say something, but then hesitated and stopped.

"How about it? Don't you think I'm amazing?" Lu Zhaoming raised his eyebrows smugly.

Su Li rolled her eyes at him and said irritably, "Tch, what's so great about him..."

After saying that, she turned around and walked towards the group, but couldn't help but smile.

Lu Zhaoming watched her retreating figure, shook his head, and his eyes became deep.

The wasteland is fraught with danger, and every step is fraught with unknowns.

He must become stronger to protect himself and his companions.

Thinking of this, he looked up again at the blood-red moon.

"Just wait, White Robe... One day, I will make you pay the price!"

After saying that, he suddenly crushed the metal fragment in his hand and turned to walk back towards the group.

Behind him, amidst the ruins, a dark figure silently appeared, picked up a shard of broken metal, and vanished into the darkness…

Just as Lu Zhaoming and his group were about to leave, a system notification suddenly sounded:

[Encrypted file detected. Decrypt?]

Lu Zhaoming was taken aback and quickly opened the system interface.

The screen displayed a string of garbled characters, with a progress bar slowly loading next to it.

"Analyze!" He confirmed without hesitation.

A few minutes later, the progress bar finally reached 100%.

Document content: The 'Blood Raven' organization is restarting 'humanity experiments,' coordinates: ...

After reading the contents of the document, Lu Zhaoming's face instantly darkened.

"The remnants of the white-robed clique are still not giving up, their wicked intentions are still alive!" he cursed under his breath, a strong killing intent rising in his heart.

"What's wrong?" Su Li noticed his unusual behavior and asked with concern.

Lu Zhaoming told her the contents of the document, and Su Li was shocked after hearing it.

"Blood Ravens? Aren't they a bunch of madmen who only know how to burn, kill, and plunder? How could they be associated with the White Robe?"

“There’s definitely something fishy going on here,” Lu Zhaoming said in a deep voice. “It seems we have to go and meet this group of ‘Blood Ravens’.”

He decided to disguise himself as a wandering mercenary and infiltrate the Blood Raven-controlled area to investigate.

At the same time, he instructed Su Li and the others to stay at the safe house and protect Xiaocao.

After all, the little grass carries antibody genes, making it a target that neither the White Robe nor the Blood Raven would let go of.

"Remember, do not make any rash moves without my news," Lu Zhaoming instructed. "Xiaocao's safety is the most important thing."

Su Li nodded.

"Don't worry, I'll take good care of them. You need to be careful too."

"Don't worry." Lu Zhaoming patted her shoulder and gave her a confident smile. "I'm the Doomsday Judge, I'm not that easy to die."

After saying that, he turned and walked towards the area controlled by the Blood Raven.

Along the way, Lu Zhaoming carefully observed his surroundings.

Blood Raven's territory was indeed extraordinary; the streets were filled with patrol teams, each one fierce and menacing, as if they might pounce and bite someone at any moment.

What's even more disturbing is that he also discovered some infected individuals being used as sentinels.

These infected individuals are controlled by Blood Raven in some way and roam the streets. Once they spot a suspicious target, they immediately let out a piercing scream.

"These guys are truly depraved!" Lu Zhaoming cursed under his breath, becoming even more careful to conceal his whereabouts.
