Chapter 97 The Shadow of the Blood Duck

Using the system scan, he quickly discovered a secret trading location.

It was a run-down bar, with two burly guards standing at the entrance, their sharp eyes scanning the passersby.

Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath, adjusted his state, and then walked towards the bar.

Just as he was about to approach, a cold voice suddenly rang out behind him: "You are not one of us."

Lu Zhaoming turned around abruptly and saw a man wearing a ghost mask staring coldly at him.

The man was thin, but he exuded a suffocating murderous aura, as if he were a demon crawling out of hell.

"Ghost Face?" Lu Zhaoming's heart skipped a beat, and he secretly became more vigilant.

"I'm just a nobody passing by, and I heard there's work to be done here," he said, feigning composure, with a hint of obsequiousness in his voice.

Ghost Face didn't completely believe him. He waved his hand, signaling his men to search Lu Zhaoming's belongings.

"Search carefully, don't miss anything suspicious," Ghost Face said coldly.

Several Blood Raven members immediately surrounded him and began to search Lu Zhaoming's body.

Lu Zhaoming cursed inwardly, knowing that the crucial moment had arrived.

Once they discover the weapons and communication equipment you are carrying, you will be completely exposed.

At this critical moment, a system notification suddenly popped up on the interface:

[Activate the mental interference module?]

[Note: This function may reveal the host's identity.]

Lu Zhaoming confirmed without hesitation.

Instantly, an invisible spiritual wave spread out from his body.

Ghost Face felt a blur before his eyes, as if he saw countless Lu Zhaomings overlapping together.

He rubbed his eyes hard, and when he looked at Lu Zhaoming again, he found that the other party did not seem to be acting strangely.

"Could I have seen wrong?" Ghost Face wondered, waving his hand to signal his men to stop the search.

"Alright, let him go," Ghost Face said. "But remember, don't try anything funny, or you'll regret it."

Lu Zhaoming secretly breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly nodded and bowed, saying, "No, no, I just want to make a living."

After saying that, he quickly left the bar entrance and disappeared into the crowd.

After successfully escaping, Lu Zhaoming didn't dare to linger for a moment. He ran all the way to a nearby abandoned warehouse before stopping.

"That was close, we almost got exposed." He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, feeling a wave of lingering fear.

Just as he was about to catch his breath, a hoarse voice suddenly rang out behind him: "You don't look like an ordinary person. May I ask which gang you belong to?"

Lu Zhaoming was startled again and turned around abruptly. He saw a short, oily-faced old man standing behind him, staring at him with a cunning look in his eyes.

The old man was dressed in tattered clothes and smelled of a foul stench; he looked like an ordinary scavenger.

But Lu Zhaoming knew that this old man was definitely not simple.

"Old Wolf?" Lu Zhaoming asked tentatively.

The old man grinned, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth: "Looks like you recognize me."

“I need your intelligence network. The payment is negotiable,” Lu Zhaoming said bluntly, while taking out a bottle of precious medicine from his pocket and handing it to Old Wolf.

The old wolf took the potion, examined it carefully, and immediately a greedy smile appeared on his face.

“Deal.” He agreed without hesitation. “However, Blood Raven has been making a lot of moves lately, so you’d better be careful.”

Lu Zhaoming nodded and asked in a deep voice, "What has Blood Raven been up to lately?"

Old Wolf lowered his voice and said mysteriously, "They seem to be conducting a secret experiment, but I don't know the specifics..."

Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, Old Wolf stopped talking, and his eyes became somewhat strange.

“However…” he paused, then slowly said, “I heard that they seem to be looking for a special kind of 'container'…”

"A container?" Lu Zhaoming frowned, a vague unease creeping into his heart.

The old wolf didn't say anything more, but gave him a meaningful look before turning and leaving the warehouse.

Lu Zhaoming stood there, his brows furrowed, his heart filled with doubt.

What exactly is Blood Raven up to?

What is the "container" they are looking for?

All of this points to a darker and more dangerous secret.

He took a deep breath, knowing he had been drawn into a massive conspiracy.

"It seems this journey is destined to be anything but peaceful," he muttered to himself.

Suddenly, he remembered the old wolf's hesitant manner earlier, and a strong sense of unease welled up in his heart.

"Wait..." Lu Zhaoming suddenly woke up, as if he had realized something, and his face turned pale instantly.

"Oh no! Su Li and the others are in danger!"

He immediately turned around and ran towards the safe house.

Shortly after he left, Old Wolf reappeared at the warehouse entrance. He looked in the direction where Lu Zhaoming had disappeared, a sinister smile on his lips.

“Young man, good luck…” he said in a low voice. Alarm bells rang in Lu Zhaoming’s heart. Old Wolf’s words, “special container,” were like a bomb, instantly detonating all his unease.

Damn it, those bastards Blood Raven, could they be eyeing Little Grass?!

A faint smell of blood filled the air, and the distant, ear-piercing sound of metal clashing could be heard—it was Iron Hammer and his gang of bastards!

Lu Zhaoming spat. These guys have noses that are sharper than dogs. How did they catch up so quickly?

The system's cold notification sounded again: "Red Owl's activity trajectory detected. The target may have noticed the host's presence." Red Owl, the leader of Blood Ravens, a twisted manipulator!

“It seems they’ve started to suspect me,” Lu Zhaoming narrowed his eyes, his mind racing. “These guys have definitely laid a trap around the safe house; we can’t force our way in.”

He stopped abruptly, his eyes scanning his surroundings.

In a dark corner, at a half-closed entrance, a nauseating stench emanated.

"Fortune favors the bold, I'll take the risk!" Lu Zhaoming gritted his teeth and decided to take the plunge.

He crouched low, crouched low, and reached towards the foul-smelling entrance.

"Wait for me, I'll be back to save you soon."
