Chapter 131 "Don't be afraid, I'm here" (1/2)

It was very late at night.

The family compound was completely silent, save for the distant sound of the waves.

After feeding the two children, Su Wantang gently placed them back in the cradle. The two little ones, full and satisfied, smacked their lips and slept soundly.

But she herself was in great pain.

Perhaps it was because of my depressed mood during the day, and the lactation-promoting soup my mother-in-law made, but now I feel like my chest is swollen like two stones, hard and painful, and even touching it is excruciating.

She frowned, sat on the edge of the bed, and clumsily rubbed her forehead, but the more she rubbed, the more it hurt, and a fine layer of sweat appeared on her forehead.

When Lu Linchuan finished washing up and came in, this was the scene he saw.

His young wife, dressed in a thin nightgown, sat under the dim light, biting her lip, her face scrunched up, one hand on her waist and the other on her chest. Her distressed and helpless appearance made his heart clench.

"What's wrong?" He walked over quietly and asked in a low voice.

Hearing the voice, Su Wantang looked up, her eyes reddening: "It hurts."

Lu Linchuan's gaze fell on her chest, and his Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily. He was a grown man who had never been married or raised children; how could he understand these things? But seeing her pale face from the pain, he felt even more distressed than she did.

He knelt down and took her cold hand in his. Those hands, which were steady and powerful when gripping a gun on the battlefield, now carried a hint of awkwardness and helplessness.

"I...I'll help you?" he asked with some difficulty, his ears turning slightly red.

Su Wantang's face flushed, and she instinctively wanted to refuse, but the throbbing pain left her utterly powerless. She hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded gently.

With permission granted, Lu Linchuan took a deep breath, as if he were about to carry out some extremely important mission. He let her lean against the headboard, while he knelt down beside the bed and carefully placed his warm, dry hand on hers.

Even through the thin cotton pajamas, the amazing softness and heat made all his muscles tense instantly.

"Don't be afraid." He seemed to sense her stiffness, and his voice softened, with a soothing hoarseness. "Back in the army, the military doctor taught me how to unblock meridians... the principle should be the same."

As he spoke, relying on his dubious "medical knowledge" and male instincts, he began to massage her with the warmth of his palms, applying neither too much nor too little pressure.

His movements were clumsy, even awkward, but he controlled his strength perfectly. The warm power, flowing through his palms, was like a warm current, miraculously relieving the throbbing, hard pain little by little.

Su Wantang's tense body slowly relaxed as she leaned against his strong arms. The pleasant masculine scent of soap and a faint smell of sweat lingered around her nose, making her feel more at ease than ever before.
