Chapter 16: Fight against the scumbag! (4/4)

...

Back in the villa, Su Wantang lay in the imported bathtub, took a comfortable hot bath, and then fell asleep.

That night, Su Wantang slept soundly and comfortably.

That night, Song Qiang lost too much blood from being bitten by a rabid dog and collapsed in the cave.

That night, Zhang Xuehui sat on the bus heading to the countryside in Heilongjiang Province, feeling only a sense of bleakness about the future, her eyes dim.

That night, Zhang Hongwei had arrived at the farm where he had been sent down for reform. He slept in a drafty cowshed, smelling cow dung. His body was covered in mosquito bites, and he was filthy, exhausted, and hungry. He tossed and turned in the cowshed, unable to sleep.

That night, Sun Xiaoli was trapped in the cold prison, beaten black and blue by her fellow inmates. Wearing prison clothes and cold handcuffs, she looked at the iron bars in front of her and shed tears.

The next morning, Su Wantang woke up feeling refreshed and full of energy.

She had taken her revenge, and now she needed to tidy up her house, stock up on supplies, and prepare to join the army.

Su Wantang moved with light steps, packing some of her frequently worn clothes into her spatial storage.

The southern province is warm all year round, so there is no need to prepare thick clothes. Therefore, clothes and shoes are mainly summer dresses.

Su Wantang put all her summer dresses, sandals, high heels, and thin socks into her space.

After putting everything away, Su Wantang walked towards the storage room inside the villa.

Since Zhang Hongwei and his vampire family moved into our house, my parents' belongings have been stored in the storage room.

When she misses her parents, she will come to the storage room to take a look.

Now that she's leaving, she's going to put her parents' things into her spatial storage so she can take them out and look at them whenever she misses them, as a way to keep a memento.

The moment I pushed the door open, there was some dust in the room.

Su Wantang waved away the dust and saw piles of cardboard boxes inside—these boxes contained her parents' belongings.

Su Wantang opened one of the cardboard boxes, inside which was a bronze-colored photo frame containing a family photo of the three of them.

In the photo, the mother is wearing a navy blue satin cheongsam embroidered with crescent-shaped white osmanthus flowers and pearls. The pearl button at the neckline is fastened at the top. She has long, wavy hair and smiles gently and beautifully, appearing dignified and elegant.

The father, dressed in a Zhongshan suit, had long, slender arms that rested lightly on the mother's shoulders. His gaze fell on his wife's face, his handsome features radiating a doting smile.

Sitting on the stool in their laps is herself at three years old. In the photo, she is wearing a light pink tutu dress, her jet-black hair is tied into two little buns on either side of her head, and she wears butterfly pearl hair clips. Her chubby little face is exquisitely beautiful, and her big, dark eyes are looking at the camera.

Looking at the photo, Su Wantang's heart softened completely. She gently stroked the image of the family of three in the photo with her slender white fingers, and then added the photo to her space.

Su Wantang saw a photo of her mother with her maternal grandparents and Zhang Hongwei when she was a child.

This photo is quite old, but you can see that Zhang Hongwei looks nothing like his mother, nor does he resemble his maternal grandparents at all.

My maternal grandparents had long, slender faces, and my mother inherited that trait; she has a classic oval face.

But Zhang Hongwei has a square face, and none of his features resemble his mother, grandparents, or great-grandparents.

This completely contradicts the principles of genetics.

Is it possible that Zhang Hongwei is not his maternal grandparents' child?

Su Wantang had this guess in her mind, but whether it was true or not, she didn't know.

While sorting through her parents' belongings, Su Wantang inadvertently discovered a locked metal box at the very bottom of a box of miscellaneous items. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
