Chapter 17 Relics, The Murderer (3/4)

The young girl pedaled her bicycle through the streets and alleys, creating a beautiful scene, and many people on the road looked in her direction.

Before long, Su Wantang arrived at the entrance of the Public Security Bureau.

She propped her bicycle up on the ground, slung her bag over her shoulder, and quickly walked into the police station.

"Officer, I want to report a crime!" Su Wantang said, taking the documents out of her bag and handing them to the police officer. "I want to accuse Wei Zhentian of murdering my parents 10 years ago!"

The police officer in front of him, Wang Hai, took the document and looked at it carefully, his expression gradually becoming serious.

“Wei Zhentian is indeed a suspect, but these are just speculations. Whether he is the murderer still needs to be investigated thoroughly and concrete evidence is required,” Wang Hai said.

"How about this, I'll go with you to Wei Zhentian's house to investigate."

"Okay." Su Wantang nodded.

The two men rode in a police car and headed towards the front gate of Wei Zhentian's house.

The two arrived shortly afterward.

Su Wantang knocked on the door, and soon a woman wearing a satin navy blue cheongsam opened the door. Upon seeing Su Wantang, she paused, "Who are you?"

“I am Su Wantang, the daughter of your husband’s best friend.”

"This is the police officer handling the case," Su Wantang introduced with a cool and aloof expression.

The woman realized the visitors had ill intentions, but she had no choice but to let them in.

"Zhentian, we have guests at home," the woman called out sweetly, swaying her hips.

Su Wantang remembered that Wei Zhentian's wife was not the person in front of her.

Maybe this woman is his new wife whom he married after his ex-wife passed away.

Soon, Wei Zhentian came out from inside the door.

He was dressed in a simple Zhongshan suit, with his hair slicked back. He had a square face and a kind face. The moment he saw Su Wantang, he smiled very kindly and gently. "Little Wantang, why did you think of your Uncle Wei's place today?"

"I brought Officer Wang here to investigate the case." Su Wantang's expression was cool and aloof, her smile ambiguous.

Wei Zhentian noticed Wang Hai, who was wearing a police uniform, and his expression became slightly serious.

"Come in, have a seat." Wei Zhentian gestured for everyone to walk into the house.

Su Wantang and Wang Hai entered the house.

The living room of Wei Zhentian's main house was decorated very simply, without any luxurious decorations, and it looked extremely poor.

After the two were seated, Wei Zhentian brewed a pot of tea and poured a cup into each of their bowls, saying, "Here, have some tea."

"I am Wang Hai. I have come to your home to investigate the death of Su Wantang's parents back then," Wang Hai said, getting straight to the point.

Wei Zhentian's expression stiffened for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure, his face filled with sorrow. "Xiao Wantang's father was my closest friend. I was heartbroken when they suffered such an accident..."

Seeing his expression, Su Wantang curled her lips, her eyes turning icy cold.

Pack.

Continue installing.

"Tell me, where did Su Youzhi ask you to meet on September 4th, ten years ago?" Wang Hai asked with a serious expression.

“It’s over at the abandoned factory in the south of the city,” Wei Zhentian said.

"So what did you do after you met?" Wang Hai asked.

Wei Zhentian seemed to be recalling, "At that time, there was a problem with the company's accounts. Su Youzhi suspected that I had embezzled public funds. He had been misunderstanding me. When we met, I explained the whole story to him."
