"Shut up! You're not allowed to talk about my mom!" Wei Juan's previously lifeless face instantly turned furious upon hearing these words. She raised her head and glared at Wei Lili in front of her, like a wounded little animal that had been provoked.
"Tsk tsk, you're usually like a soft-hearted bun, you can't even fart after being hit with a stick, but I didn't expect you to get all worked up as soon as your dead mother is mentioned." Wei Lili seemed to have discovered something amusing. She threw the bowl of porridge in front of Wei Juan, tossing it down condescendingly as if giving alms to a beggar. "You don't want me to talk, do you? I'm going to talk anyway! I'm going to talk!"
“My dad told me before that the woman he loved most in his life was my mom!” Wei Lili crossed her arms and looked down at Wei Juan. “My mom is my dad’s true love! As for your mom, she’s just a third party!”
“If my dad hadn’t been a poor boy back then, he wouldn’t have abandoned my mom to stay with your mom in order to climb the social ladder and make money! My dad said that your mom was just a pawn to him, a tool he could use! He only married your mom to get the resources she had! If your mom didn’t have some money, my dad wouldn’t have even given her a second glance!”
Wei Juan gripped her skirt tightly, her eyes red as she stared intently at Wei Lili, clenching her teeth.
Seeing Wei Juan's pained expression, Wei Lili felt even more relieved. She laughed heartily, "In a marriage, the one who isn't loved is the third party! Your mother is the mistress who broke up my parents' relationship. If it weren't for your mother, my parents would have gotten married long ago! I wouldn't have had to be an illegitimate child who couldn't see the light of day for so many years!"
"However, your mother was somewhat useful. She used all her money to pave the way for my father's business. It was your mother who helped my father run the company, which led to his later business empire..." Wei Lili smiled proudly. "Speaking of which, we, mother and daughter, are able to live such a wealthy life now, and we should really thank your mother who died young. If she hadn't worked so hard back then, we wouldn't be living such a good life now."
However, the current era is quite sensitive, so their family wants to keep a low profile. As a result, they moved out of their original villa and now live in this inconspicuous little house. The furniture looks very simple, but in reality, the mother and daughter have the best of everything.
"Shut up, shut up!" Wei Juan shouted, her face deathly pale.
Wei Lili realized that when she used to bully Wei Juan, Wei Juan would always be submissive like a soft bun and never react so strongly. She found it increasingly interesting and amusing.
She enjoyed provoking Wei Juan, and loved seeing Wei Juan driven mad with rage, wishing she could bite her to death, yet helpless in the face of it all.
It felt like a cat playing with a mouse.
It's quite amusing to watch a mouse struggle before it dies.
“My dad said…” Wei Lili said with a smile, “From now on, all the family property will belong to me and my mom, and you won’t get a single penny!”
"Oh, right, I used to think you were a brainless idiot, but now it seems you do have some brains. At least you guessed why your mother died back then."
Wei Juan's mind went completely blank. It felt like an atomic bomb had exploded in her head. She sat there, stunned, her lips trembling. "What did you say...you know something, don't you?" (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
