Yunnan Province is located on the border and is relatively underdeveloped.
It's late May now. The tropical monsoon climate makes it warm and humid all year round. Even during the rainy season when temperatures are high, it's not unbearably hot. The high humidity in the air is good for the skin.
The only downside is that the diaper doesn't dry easily; you never know when it will rain, and it gets wet before you know it.
Lu Shurui took half a month off and started working today.
After having breakfast and feeding her two babies, Yu Yin started packing her things.
The room was spacious, but not much was there: a double bed, two camphor wood chests, a desk, a chair, and nothing else.
Following her memory, Yu Yin opened one of the boxes and found a metal biscuit tin containing all of the original owner's belongings. Of course, now it was all her own possessions.
I took out the money and tickets, counted them, and found there were still 1,100 yuan left, 110 bills of great unity. That was awesome.
Among them were 300 yuan left over from buying a house, 500 yuan from Lu Shurui's family's betrothal gifts, 200 yuan from her brother's dowry, 200 yuan from her mother, and 50 yuan each from her older brother and sister.
Besides the large bills, I also had some small change, gifts from colleagues, and my previous allowance, which didn't add up to much.
Since getting married, we've spent a little over two hundred yuan on everyday necessities and some things for the baby later on.
Cloth coupons, grain coupons, sugar coupons, industrial coupons, shoe coupons, soap coupons, menstrual belt coupons, milk powder coupons... there's nothing that doesn't require coupons. Organize all these coupons and set them aside.
Inside the box were a letter from the delivery guy and a jade bracelet. She didn't know if it was Lantian jade or imperial green jade, but it was very beautiful. She said that when she was in vocational school, the original owner saved an old lady and gave her some food, which was stuffed into her pocket. She only found out about it later, and the old lady never appeared again.
The rest were some small items: a hair accessory, a small clip, and a hair tie. These were basically all bought for her by the guy.
Yu Yin found another empty box, put the bracelet and the stack of ten-yuan notes inside, closed the lid, and placed it in her storage space. This was her source of confidence.
The box contained many baby items: formula, fabric, clothes, and pants, some new and some old, all cleaned thoroughly.
Yu Yin remembered that most of it was brought back by Lu Shurui, a small portion was brought by Yu's mother, and the rest was prepared by the original owner.
In the other box were the original owner's clothes—not many, as she had always been very frugal. A new military uniform was a wedding gift her brother had sent her.
Searching through my memories, I learned that my father was a typical northern man, busy with work and neglecting many things at home. My mother was from Sichuan, quick-tempered, and blunt, but kind-hearted.
When the original owner was twelve years old, she was transferred to Yunnan Province with her father. At that time, her eldest brother Yu Kai was already in college, and her eldest sister Yu Qing was in high school. She stayed in her hometown and lived with her grandparents.
Later, the eldest brother graduated and entered Yangshi Shipyard as an engineer, while the eldest sister, Yu Qing, was among the last batch of university graduates and was assigned to Yangshi Railway Bureau.
As they reached a certain age, they all got married and had children, so they had less contact with Yu Yin. They usually learned about each other through Yu's mother. For example, her eldest brother had a son and a daughter, and her eldest sister had a son. The original owner actually prepared a lot of things for her brothers and sisters, such as various dried mushrooms and dried fruits, which were all sent by Yu's mother. However, they never replied to the original owner's letters or sent anything separately.
As for my younger brother, he was born unexpectedly after I arrived in Yunnan. He is twelve years younger than the original owner of this body and is only eight years old this year. He was basically raised by the original owner of this body and has a good relationship with him.
As Yu Yin tidied up her things, she also recalled the past, organizing her memories to avoid giving herself away.
The original owner was a kind and capable girl, but she was slow to react and not good at saying nice things, so she always lived a lonely life. Yu Yin silently thought to herself, "Don't worry, I will take good care of the child and use your body to live every day well from now on, living a carefree and happy life."
The wind gently brushed against my cheek, like a response from the original owner's soul.
"Yu Yin, I've brought the food back. Shall I fry you an egg?"
Unexpectedly, the whole morning was spent organizing and recalling, and it was already noon.
"Okay, you do what you want, I'll change the baby's diaper."
When will these two little rascals start crying loudly? Their whimpering just now was so soft I could barely hear them, like little kittens.
After changing the diaper and feeding the baby again, the baby wasn't sucking very hard. Fortunately, the milk powder was well-drained, and sometimes it would spray out, perhaps because the baby had drunk the spring water, which would spray the baby's face.
Yu Yin drank the spiritual spring water every day, and her children drank her breast milk, which greatly improved their health. Aside from being weak and crying less, they were very energetic. Yu Yin remembered that her colleagues' children in her later life could hold their heads up after only four or five days, and their little hands were very strong, gripping adults' fingers tightly. But these two little ones, even after half a month, still couldn't lift their heads; their heads were limp, and their hands were weak.
No rush, take your time. As the old saying goes, if the seedlings are good, they will grow tall.
After drinking milk, the two little ones didn't fall asleep. Their eyes darted around, and it was hard to tell what they were seeing. Occasionally, they would wave their little hands.
"Let's eat, be careful it's hot."
A bowl of scrambled eggs, a bowl of soup, and a serving of mixed rice.
Where's your food?
"I ate in the cafeteria. This is for you. Eat up."
Yu Yin picked up her chopsticks, took a piece of egg, and found it tasted good. It was indeed a free-range egg, with a golden-brown color.
Yu Yin is 1.65 meters tall and weighs 120 jin (60 kg). This is because she hasn't lost weight after giving birth; she used to weigh just over 100 jin (50 kg). She finished the whole bowl of soup, the bowl of vegetables, and the rice.
