Chapter 6 Going Home

She's such a stubborn but soft-hearted mother. Thinking about it now, she's actually quite adorable, much better than my own irresponsible mother.

Regardless of the circumstances, Yu Yin is a beneficiary.

Lying in bed with her two energetic little ones beside her, Yu Yin felt much more at ease.

After explaining a few things to his parents and Lu Shurui, Yu rushed back to work.

The departure of Yu's mother relieved Lu Shurui a lot; he was genuinely a little afraid of her.

After tidying up the things I got from the hospital, I washed the baby's wet diapers again and hung them out to dry in the yard. I need to go upstairs to check on the mother and her three children.

Inside the house, the mother and her two children were lying on the bed, asleep.

Ta-da! I went downstairs again to check the vegetable garden and see what else was edible.

Lu Shurui can cook, he can cook most common home-style dishes, and he also likes to make soup. When he was little, he lived with his grandparents for a few years, during which he learned to cook, and he also learned to make soup from his grandmother.

I bought some large bones this morning, blanched them, put them in a soup pot, brought them to a boil over high heat, then simmered them over low heat until all the marrow was extracted. These are real bones; there's not a single bit of meat in them.

"Lu Shurui, the baby has wet himself. Bring up a diaper. I don't have any."

The child is still too weak; he wet himself and didn't even hear the child crying.

Carrying a basin of warm water and a dry diaper, Lu Shurui went upstairs.

"Here, let me change it and wash him again so his bottom won't get wet."

After washing and drying him, I applied powder, put on a diaper, and wrapped him up. The little guy was comfortable, his brows relaxed, and he no longer frowned like a little old man.

Speaking of this powder, I have to thank my second sister, Lu Shuxia. Knowing that Yu Yin was pregnant with twins, she not only prepared baby powder, but also two baby bottles, some patched cloths, formula, and almost everything a newborn could use was sent to her. Her mother hadn't prepared anything.

"Yu Yin, are you hungry? I made some bone broth, and I'll cook some noodles, a poached egg, and some bok choy in a bit, okay?"

Oh my god, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I've also discovered another good quality of Comrade Lu Shurui: he can cook. He's definitely worth trying to keep.

"Okay, I'm not picky about food. Cook more, and eat some yourself too. You've been exhausted these past few days."

Relationships are built over time, and care is mutual; you can't just take without giving back.

"Yes, I know. We have enough food coupons this month. Lie down a little longer, I'll wash the diapers."

Ta-da! The diligent little bee came downstairs again, and Yu Yin was filled with hope for the future.

She has her own spiritual spring that can regulate her body and improve plants, as well as black soil suitable for planting. Most importantly, she has a job in the government, which guarantees a stable income regardless of drought or flood.

She hadn't quite figured out the space yet; she'd study it more carefully once she felt better. As far as she remembered, Lu Shurui and she slept in separate rooms, which made it easier for her to enter and exit the space.

This is my last line of defense, a secret I can't tell anyone.

"The noodles are ready, eat quickly, it'll be time to breastfeed again soon."

A large bowl of noodles, with milky white broth, bright green vegetables, and golden eggs, looks quite appealing.

One bite, and it's not greasy or bland; it's quite refreshing. It would be even better if it were a bit saltier. But then again, postpartum meals are usually low in salt, and this is still somewhat flavorful. What more could I ask for?

Slurp it up, and a big bowl of noodles is gone.

"Your cooking skills are top-notch, it's delicious."

Lu Shurui left with the empty bowl, but Yu Yin still noticed that his ears had turned red.
