Chapter Seven

Upon hearing the sound, Xu Ziyan's eyes lit up. She looked up towards the door and, sure enough, saw Xie Wei wearing the team uniform.

Xie Wei now seemed more distant than when they met in the bedroom that morning. His pursed lips and displeased expression made him even more unapproachable.

Xu Ziyan opened his mouth, but then remembered Xie Wei's previous instructions, hesitated for a moment, and decided not to say hello.

Wang Jingyu was completely terrified. He quickly shook off Xu Ziyan's hand and said with an embarrassed smile, "Captain Xie! What are you doing here? This, this is all a misunderstanding. This Omega is about to leave the camp and go home. He wanted me to give him another chance to try out, so... Haha, Captain Xie, don't worry! I have principles! I would never be a sucker like that!"

The real "sucker" Xie Wei gave a half-smile and a slight twitch of his lips.

He spent the morning running around handling transfer procedures for someone, then spoke with the second team coach, and also drafted contracts and dealt with legal matters. He was completely overwhelmed. He had just finished a training match and rushed to the youth training camp under the mocking gazes of the head coach and manager, only to stumble upon this scene.

Anyone would be furious if an Omega with their own mark were harassed by other Alphas.

Xie Wei glanced coldly at Wang Jingyu, who was still trying to lie with a forced smile, then strode forward, grabbed Xu Ziyan who was still standing there dumbfounded, frowned and looked him up and down. Only after confirming that he was alright did she breathe a sigh of relief.

He asked in a low voice, clearly annoyed, "Didn't I tell you to get some rest?"

Xu Ziyan lowered his head, showing no trace of the prickly demeanor he had displayed just moments before, and obediently replied in a low voice, "I... I forgot my peripherals here and didn't take them back."

The two spoke in very low voices, so that only the other person could hear them.

Watching their interaction, Wang Jingyu suddenly felt a sense of unease, and his expression darkened. He asked with difficulty, "Team Leader Xie, do you know each other?"

"Coach Wang, didn't you receive a notification from the team?"

Xie Wei turned around, her eyes cold, but a smile appeared on her lips. "The second team's medical staff retired for some reason, and the team wants to select someone from here to be promoted. I came here today to inform them of this."

"Oh right, what did you just say?" His smile widened. "You said this player, who was already slated to be promoted to the second team, was 'begging' you for a trial opportunity?"

Wang Jingyu's face turned pale, and a layer of cold sweat broke out on his back.

He does have connections, but compared to Xie Wei, they are insignificant. It's important to understand that the Xie family controls a full 90% of TWG's shares, and Xie Wei is the undisputed next head of the family. Calling Xie Wei the true boss of TWG is no exaggeration.

"Just kidding..." Wang Jingyu forced a smile that looked more like a grimace, "I was just kidding..."

Xie Wei smiled, ignored him, and turned to ask Xu Ziyan, who was watching the show intently, "Have you packed everything?"

Seeing Wang Jingyu get his comeuppance, Xu Ziyan felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction, and a cheerful smile involuntarily appeared on his lips: "All done!"

Xie Wei nodded and left with his men. As he passed Wang Jingyu, he patted him on the shoulder and said in a calm tone, "You should pack your things too. There's a lot more to do than this."

Wang Jingyu's lips trembled as he stared blankly at the departing figures of the two of them. He couldn't understand how Xu Ziyan had managed to get on Xie Wei's good side no matter how hard he tried.

The youth training teammates who had been sitting next to Xu Ziyan earlier were filled with envy, regretting that if they had known Xu Ziyan would have such a lucky break, they would have tried to get along with him. But it was too late to say anything now.

In the corridor, Xu Ziyan said apologetically, "Captain, I'm sorry to have troubled you again."

Looking around and seeing no one was around, she cautiously asked, "Didn't you say before that you didn't want anyone to know we knew each other? Just now at the youth training camp..."

"They don't care. They'll all be going home soon anyway, and they might never see each other again in this lifetime." Xie Wei glanced at him. "That guy, Wang Jingyu, did he harass you before?"

Xu Ziyan hesitated for a moment, then nodded and said truthfully, "I reported him before, but it was no use."

Xie Wei hated these kinds of shady characters more than anything else in his life. When he heard that this person was someone with connections and powerful backing, he became even angrier: "I know, I'll handle this. You don't need to worry about it. You're still living in the youth training dormitory, right?"

"Yes." Having joined the team, dealt with that annoying idiot, and with the person she liked right in front of her, Xu Ziyan's mood was off the charts. "Should I hurry up and pack my bags and go to the second team's dormitory?"

"No rush," Xie Wei said. "You can report to the second team first, and then take care of these things when you have a day off. Anyway, you can move out before the next batch of youth trainees arrive."

After a pause, recalling the various eccentric and unreliable foolish impressions Xu Ziyan had given him in just one day, Xie Wei was still worried and wanted to give him some more instructions.

When Xie Wei turned around and met the Omega's bright, sparkling eyes, she cursed herself for being such a busybody, even caring about an Omega who had used her to climb the social ladder. She swallowed the rest of her words and coldly said, "I'm leaving."
