Chapter 8 "I have no intention of taking on students."

Willy had imagined many things about his first meeting with Professor Eero, but he had never considered this possibility—

He couldn't find his mentor at all.

The office was empty; the search magic had yielded nothing. He had even found the person's home address in the file. Unsurprisingly, it was cold and lifeless, as if no one was there at all.

Seeing the principal who had come with him awkwardly wiping the sweat from his brow, Willy began to feel sorry for him.

"Well... how about you choose another option? Our school has many other excellent professors..."

Willie smiled apologetically: "I'm sorry, I've already made my choice."

Actually, he wasn't indispensable at first, but the current situation has made Willy have a rebellious mentality.

The principal was frantically flipping through the documents in his hands when he suddenly saw something that made his eyes light up.

"I know! There's one more place!"

He cast a teleportation spell on Vili again, and the two landed outside a building that looked like a laboratory.

The principal glanced at Vili.

"Wait here for a moment, I'll go in and see if anyone's there."

Willy nodded and stood there alone, looking at the house in front of him.

The area is protected by powerful magic, making it very difficult to force one's way in. Therefore, only those authorized by the homeowner are allowed to enter.

It also serves a concealment function; if the principal didn't have a clear purpose, they would overlook it when passing by.

He could feel the overwhelming aura of death even just standing outside. Countless people must have died inside; even an ordinary person without magic would probably feel a chill if they went in.

This is probably one of the reasons why this place is sparsely populated.

Willie waited for a long time before he finally saw the principal come out, followed by a tall man.

I've finally met you, Elro Greenwood.

Vili perked up, straightened up, and peered at the newcomer.

The man was dressed in a black robe, devoid of any other color from head to toe, so deep it seemed to swallow the night itself. His steps appeared somewhat slow, whether from poor health or reluctance was unclear.

When Vili looked at his face again, he found that there was a large patch of bright red blood splattered on his cheek and neck, and it was still dripping down.

Because his face was so pale, almost transparent, the red stood out all the more.

What's even more striking is that one of his eyes is silver, and when you look closely, it's like flowing mercury, possessing a captivating magic.

Just as Vili was observing carefully, Ero suddenly looked over and stared directly into his eyes.

Vili had expected that the other man might be unhappy with his recklessness, but to his surprise, the other man's expression remained completely unchanged.

His gaze towards Vili was devoid of warmth, as if he were looking at a lifeless object.

They showed not even a trace of curiosity towards strangers.

Vili blinked, then gently curved her lips into a smile.

He was very satisfied.

The principal finally led Ero to Vili. He opened his mouth to introduce the two, but was interrupted by a cold voice.

"I have no plans to take on students."

The principal was quite embarrassed. He had spent so much time in the research room trying to persuade Ero to accept Vili, but in the end, he only managed to get the other party to reluctantly agree to come and take a look.

Who would have thought that he was just coming over to refuse in person?

Given Eero's personality, he had actually had a premonition that this might be the outcome.

After all, this professor was quite famous in Aetherland.

As a teacher, he avoids classes whenever possible, with more absences than students, always claiming he's conducting experiments when questioned. Yet, his magical abilities are exceptionally outstanding, making it impossible to dismiss him.

The principal had also heard rumors that he dared not expel the other person because the other person was too skilled in necromancy-related curses.

Although he quickly clarified the situation, he did feel a little uneasy in front of this professor...

He glanced at Willy on the other side, his eyes shifting from relief to disappointment.

What a wonderful child! Why did she have to fall for this one?

“Professor,” Willy said, unfazed by the other’s words, his tone still unhurried, “you’ve never even spent time with me, how do you know I can’t be your student?”

Ero didn't expect him to argue back. He thought that students of this age were all thin-skinned and would leave on their own after being rejected, but he didn't expect to meet Willie.

He had only prepared this one line beforehand, and he stopped in his tracks, looking at the principal.

The latter actually saw a plea for help in his eyes.

Meanwhile, Willie's gaze also fell upon the principal.

Earnest, hopeful, sincere...

headmaster:"……"

Now, the pressure is on him.

He remained silent for a long time before finally speaking with difficulty, despite the stares he was being given.

“Ero…” He turned to the necromancer professor and was astonished to see the betrayal on the professor’s face.

"..."

He forced himself to ignore it.

"Although I've told you so much, you probably don't know Vili well. He's really outstanding."

“How about this?” He looked at Vili again, “Let’s set a one-month limit. You two spend a month together, and if it still doesn’t work out, then let’s call it a day.”

Is that okay?

The white-haired old man choked up a little.

Vili and Elo exchanged a glance and nodded simultaneously.

Ero: I still have to endure another month...

Vili: A month is enough for me to learn everything he knows, regardless of whether this guy is really skilled or not!
