Chapter 8 "I have no intention of taking on students."

After the principal left, Ero reluctantly drew a magic rune and cast it on Vili.

"With this, you can enter my lab... but don't come."

Vili blinked.

"...It's best not to come."

Unless I ask you to come... but that's unlikely.

Ero swallowed those words.

Then he slowly led Vili into the room, his whole being radiating displeasure at the invasion of his territory, even his messy black hair seemed to float due to restless magic.

Vili, however, seemed oblivious to the situation and struck up a conversation, his voice quite cheerful.

"Mentor, aren't you going to clean the blood off your face?"

Ero frowned, touched his cheek, and then remembered that it had splashed on his skin when he was doing experiments with monsters. It had dried and hardened on his skin in no time.

Upon noticing this, he immediately turned around without a word and went to the restroom on his own.

Vili didn't follow, but stayed where he was, looking around at the interior of the house.

Ignoring the monster with its guts ripped out on the control panel in the center, Vili looked at the pristine white skeleton in the corner.

He'd been wondering about this thing ever since; it was so clean, almost unnaturally white.

He stepped closer, and before he could even examine it, the skeleton began to crack and pop, making a crisp sound as if it were stretching its muscles and bones.

The next second, it shattered into scattered bone fragments, which clattered and fell to the ground.

Vili: ...

He glanced at the silent bathroom and began to consider whether he should run away first.

How come even skeletons are faking accidents these days?
