Seeing her distressed expression and noticing her disappointment, Di Jingcheng ordered someone to retrieve the fishing rod.
Azi asked in confusion, "What are you doing? I haven't caught anything. Look, Prince Yuan has caught a whole bucket full of fish, all lively and jumping around."
Di Jingcheng clearly didn't care how many fish Di Jingyuan had caught, but when Azi praised him, he realized he needed to think of a way to avoid being outdone by other men.
Di Jingcheng noticed that her eyes kept glancing towards his younger brother, so he cupped her face and gently turned her head back to him: "You're not allowed to look at other men anymore, or your husband will be unhappy!"
Upon hearing this, Azi gave him a coquettish look and poked his waist: "No, I was just a little envious of Prince Yuan catching so many fish." Then, she looked at her wooden bucket with a sigh of relief. There wasn't a single small fish in it, only a few dry, fallen leaves floating on the surface of the water.
"It's nothing, this is Azi's first time fishing, she'll learn slowly in the future," Di Jingcheng comforted her.
"But didn't you just say you'd grill fish for me tonight? Could it be... you were lying to me?" Azi said, dissatisfied, and raised her foot to go over to Prince Yuan to see if he could teach her how to fish.
Di Jingcheng grabbed her hand and quickly pulled her into his arms: "Baby, where are we going?"
"I would like to ask Prince Yuan for advice on fishing techniques."
"My husband can do it too!" Di Jingcheng said, feeling wronged. He was a skilled fisherman, you know? He just wanted to see his darling act cute, so he caught a lot of fish for her. Who would have thought that his darling would directly want to go to Di Jingyuan? Wasn't this giving his rival a chance?
Azi looked at him suspiciously: "What you just taught me didn't catch a single fish!"
Di Jingcheng couldn't say that A Zi's skills were too poor to catch fish, and besides, she was clearly very enthusiastic and didn't want him to interfere too much, so he was really wronged!
"Baby, no need to fish, I'll go into the water and scoop them all up for you!" Di Jingcheng took the fishing net that Zheng San handed him and proudly shook the tool in his hand.
Seeing this, Azi was overjoyed; catching fish was so much fun! She happily grabbed the fishing net, took two steps forward, and stood on the bank, ready to scoop some in. Di Jingcheng quickly hugged her, saying, "Baby, you can't make such big movements! Let me do it! I'll go down and scoop some!"
Azi was fishing in the water with a pole in both hands. Di Jingcheng held her waist, but she didn't hear a word he said, leaning forward slightly to continue stirring the lake. Her face was full of joy. Seeing how happy she was, Di Jingcheng didn't stop her and let her play.
Azi scooped up some small fish. Although they weren't big, they made her incredibly excited. As long as she could catch some, there was definitely hope that she could catch some bigger ones!
Qinghe and Zheng San put the small fish from the net into the wooden bucket. The fish darted around in the clear water. Azi blushed and looked inside, laughing happily.
She handed the fishing net to the palace maid and bent down to gently stir the water in the bucket with a twig: "Ah Cheng, look, so many fish, although they are a bit small."
Di Jingcheng carried him to a chair and sat him down: "Alright, what if you're exhausted? Next, watch your husband catch a big fish for you!"
Azi clapped her hands happily, looking at him with starry eyes. Di Jingcheng took a handkerchief and wiped her sweat, then fed her some warm water: "Sit here and watch these little fish."
The young eunuch placed the wooden bucket filled with fish in front of Azi, letting her look at it. Seeing her blushing, happy face, Di Jingcheng patted her belly and turned to get into the water.
"Cheng, is the water deep? Be careful!" Zi looked at him rolling up his sleeves and going into the water with some concern.
Di Jingcheng smiled and said, "My dear, just sit still. The water is shallow. Watch your husband show off his skills!"
Azi watched intently as he scooped up the fish. He held the net in his large hand and scooped it into the lake. The net floated to the surface, and instantly several large, lively fish appeared inside.
Azi happily got up, and Qinghe quickly helped her. Azi hurriedly stopped the palace servants who were about to take the fish, and reached out to take the fish herself. Di Jingcheng came to the shore, put his hands on the bank, and looked up at the little girl happily putting the big fish from the net into the wooden bucket.
She grabbed the struggling fish tightly with her small hands. Her fair hands were much smaller than the fish. Her eyes were wide with excitement as she carefully tossed the fish into the bucket.
Seeing her happy expression, Di Jingcheng felt incredibly fulfilled and happy: "Slow down, baby, don't fall."
Azi put several large fish into the wooden tub, then bent down and kissed the man still standing in the lake: "My Acheng is so great!"
"Come on up, there are enough fish for us, that's enough! Come on up!" Azi tried to pull him up with all her might, but Di Jingcheng didn't want to hurt her, so he glanced at Qinghe. Qinghe immediately helped her sit back down: "Your Majesty, His Majesty can come up by himself, don't tire yourself out."
Emperor Jingcheng leaped lightly out of the lake. The water near the shore was shallow, only reaching his knees, so it was easy for him. Zheng He'er quickly had palace servants bring him brand-new shoes and socks to help him change.
Di Jingyuan naturally noticed the commotion and was extremely happy watching the sweet interaction between the two. He was incredibly envious. While Di Jingcheng was changing his shoes and socks in the pavilion, he tossed the fishing rod to a palace servant and came over carrying the bucket of plump fish.
Azi was teasing the fish with a twig when Di Jingyuan came straight to her and placed a bucket of fish in front of her.
"Your Majesty, I present these fish to you!" Emperor Jingyuan looked at her expectantly.
Azi looked up and casually tossed the branch in her hand into the bucket. The fish, mistaking it for food, scrambled to grab it. Water splashed out, landing on Azi's exquisitely embroidered shoes, inlaid with South Sea pearls.
